Should RTM launch gap filler transmitter for Ai FM in Lenggong when its Ipoh frequency 92.1MHz is having interference with Nasional FM 92.3MHz?

In Lenggong, most of the radio stations are received from Ipoh's Gunung Kledang, but RTM has gap filler transmitter there for its 3 radio stations such as Nasional FM 92.3MHz, Asyik FM 93.1MHz and Perak FM 94.2MHz.

For other RTM radio stations such as Radio Klasik, Traxx FM, Ai FM and Minnal FM in Lenggong, listeners have to tune them on 88.3MHz, 90.1MHz, 92.1MHz and 98.9MHz from Gunung Kledang, but for Ai FM, its Ipoh frequency is very difficult to be tuned in Lenggong because interference with Nasional FM 92.3MHz from Bukit Ladang Teh which is the gap filler transmitter for Lenggong.

When I was in Lenggong last week, there are having Chinese local residents. If they cannot tune Ai FM because interference with Nasional FM 92.3MHz, they may tune to other Chinese radio stations such as 8FM 87.6MHz, Melody FM 98.5MHz, 988 FM 99.8MHz and MY FM 100.6MHz in Lenggong.

As the government service to people radio station for Chinese community, actually RTM can consider to launch Ai FM Lenggong frequency in Bukit Ladang Teh like Nasional FM if necessary because Lenggong has Chinese people.

 

Meanwhile the signal of FM 106.1MHz from Bukit Larut is very weak in Lenggong, Perak.

Asyik FM formerly used FM 97.3MHz in Lenggong before changing to 93.1MHz. In my opinion, RTM can use old Asyik FM frequency 97.3MHz for Ai FM in Lenggong, but maximum transmitter power is 30W to prevent interference to Kelantan FM 97.3MHz Bukit Bakar coverage in West Jeli.

30W transmitter power for Ai FM 97.3MHz in Bukit Ladang Teh is very sufficient to cover Lenggong town only without overspilling to Sauk, Gerik, Enggor, Kuala Kangsar and Lawin.

If RTM launches Ai FM in Lenggong, Chinese local resident in that location can receive government information and entertainment, alongside the music entertainment based Chinese radio stations such as MY FM 100.6MHz, Melody FM 98.5MHz, 8FM 87.6MHz and 988 FM 99.8MHz.
