* Frekuensi: FM 107.5MHz

* Daya pemancar: 1kW

* Lokasi transmisi: TVRI Rokan Hilir (target tanggal penyelesaian: November 2022)

* Antenna: 4 bay array dipole (8 dBd antenna gain)

* Tinggi antenna: 85m (rekomendasi)

==Analisis interferensi frekuensi RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 repeater Rokan Hilir==

107.2MHz: Radio Star FM Kota Dumai

107.5MHz: RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 Rokan Hilir

<300kHz, OK>

107.3MHz: Melody FM Gunung Ledang (Malaysia)

107.5MHz: RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 Rokan Hilir

<200kHz, OK>

107.5MHz: RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 Rokan Hilir

107.5MHz: Pahang FM Gunung Ulu Kali (Malaysia; Pahang Barat sahaja)

<0kHz, OK>

107.5MHz: RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 Rokan Hilir

107.7MHz: Negeri FM Gunung Ledang (Malaysia)

<200kHz, OK>

Peta jangkauan siaran RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 FM 107.5MHz repeater Rokan Hilir

(IBM: Indonesia Broadcast Matters) Radio Republik Indonesia could launch RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 repeater in Rokan Hilir regency once TVRI operates DVB-T2 transmission there in 2023. (Some proposal inside)

On previous post, I have talked about TVRI (Televisi Republik Indonesia) will reach coverage in Rokan Hilir regency, Riau Province by building repeater tower this year.

Back to 2021, I had reported about the availability Malaysia radio stations in Rokan Hilir, Riau Province, Indonesia. From 87.5MHz to 108MHz, the frequency band is covered by Malaysia radio stations majority, meanwhile only 1 Indonesia radio station is available there.

Radio Diva Nusantara FM 100.3MHz is the only local radio station in Rokan Hilir regency, transmitted from Bagansiapiapi.

TVRI will launch a DVB-T2 repeater in Rokan Hilir by Q4 2022 or early 2023. Hence, Radio Republik Indonesia can also launch RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 repeater there after TVRI.

Rokan Hulu and Dumai get covered by RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 with local repeaters, meanwhile Rokan Hilir (including Bagansiapiapi) has no coverage from RRI stations.

Here is my suggestion of RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 repeater for Rokan Hilir (ROHIL) in terms of parameter:

- Frequency: FM 107.5MHz

- Transmitter power: 1kW

- Transmitter site: TVRI Rokan Hilir

- Coordinates: 1°52'27.0"N 100°57'31.0"E

By watching Noprio Sandi's video of receiving Malaysia radio station in Rokan Hilir, while Selangor FM 100.9MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali is very clear there, but Pahang FM 107.5MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali is likely not receivable there due to antenna beaming is only for Pahang, Malaysia. So, I suggest FM 107.5MHz for Rokan Hilir transmission.

107.2MHz: Radio Star FM Kota Dumai

107.5MHz: RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 Rokan Hilir

<300kHz, OK>

107.3MHz: Melody FM Gunung Ledang

107.5MHz: RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 Rokan Hilir

<200kHz, OK>

107.5MHz: Pahang FM Gunung Ulu Kali

107.5MHz: RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 Rokan Hilir

<0kHz, OK>

107.5MHz: RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 Rokan Hilir

107.7MHz: Negeri FM Gunung Ledang

<200kHz, OK>

Here is the expected coverage of RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 FM 107.5MHz Rokan Hilir repeater (antenna height: 85m).

RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 FM 107.5MHz from TVRI Rokan Hilir with 1kW power is expected to cover the whole Rokan Hilir regency, from Bagansiapiapi to part of Dumai City.

The usage of frequency FM 107.5MHz by RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 in Rokan Hilir which I recommend will not cause co-channel interference to RTM Pahang FM 107.5MHz Gunung Ulu Kali coverage in Malaysia (especially Selangor coastal areas) because Pahang FM 107.5MHz covers only West Pahang by beaming to east direction only.

(Indonesia Broadcast Matters- IBM) KOMINFO is going to launch TVRI repeater in Bagansiapiapi, Rokan Hilir regency, Riau province for DVB-T2 transmission in Q4 2022, will RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 launch its repeater there too?

Last year, I had watched an Indonesian receiving Malaysia FM radio stations in Rokan Hilir, Riau Province, Indonesia. In the regency, there has more Malaysia FM/TV stations, transmitted from Gunung Ulu Kali, meanwhile Indonesia local stations are very less.

For FM radio, there is only 1 local radio station broadcasting in Rokan Hilir, namely Radio Diva Nusantara on FM 100.3MHz, but the Indonesia public broadcaster Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) and Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) have no terrestrial coverage in Rokan Hilir.

This cause Rokan Hilir people accessing Malaysia TV/radio channels than Indonesia local ones. Hence, the Indonesia government is worrying the people nearby bordering region will lose the nationalism identity by accessing neighboring countries TV and radio stations.

I read one news article about television in Rokan Hilir. In October 2021, the information ministry of Indonesia, KOMINFO is going to build TVRI repeater in Rokan Hilir for DVB-T2 transmission. The construction of TVRI repeater tower is going to be started in early 2022, and expected to be completed before November 2022. (Source: Riau Potenza)

When TVRI repeater tower in Rokan Hilir is completed, people in this regency can watch TVRI channels via DVB-T2 transmission by using UHF antenna, instead of purchasing expensive satellite parabola dish. About TVRI Rokan Hilir tower, I don't think other Indonesia television broadcasters like Indosiar, RCTI, anTV, MNC TV, Trans TV etc have the interest to expand their coverage to Rokan Hilir due to commerical reasons, even they are not available in Bengkalis, Dumai, Kepulauan Meranti and Rokan Hulu within Riau Province. These private broadcasters are mainly focusing in the cities and urban towns where generate more commercial revenue than rural and remote areas.

After TVRI launches DVB-T2 repeater in Rokan Hilir, I believe Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) will also launch its radio station in Rokan Hilir, mostly PRO-1 channel, either relay from RRI Bengkalis or RRI Pekanbaru.

In my opinion, RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 is more to mainland, meanwhile RRI Bengkalis PRO-1 is more to island, then Rokan Hilir is located in mainland of Riau province, hence I believe Radio Republik Indonesia will launch RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 repeater in Rokan Hilir as RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 also has a repeater for Rokan Hulu by locating transmitter tower in Pasir Pengaraian.

I'm not sure what will be output power of TVRI DVB-T2 broadcast in Rokan Hilir. If it operates at medium or high power, it may be possible for Malaysia people who are staying in coastal areas of Klang (eg: Pulau Indah, Pulau Carey & Pulau Ketam) and Kuala Langat (eg: Morib, Banting) to access TVRI channels by using UHF antenna.

I will update any information of TVRI Rokan Hilir DVB-T2 repeater frequency by end of 2022 or next year once the tower is operated officially.

- Frekuensi: FM 97.3MHz

- Kuasa pemancar: 2kW

- Tempat pemancar: Bukit Bakar, Machang, Kelantan

- Tempat penerima: Puncak Gunung Raya, Pulau Langkawi, Kedah

- Jarak: 282km

RTM Perak FM 95.6MHz (Gunung Kledang) & Kedah FM 90.5MHz (Bukit Palong) diterima di Bintulu, Sarawak melalui pemancaran Sporadik-E

Pada 2hb Februari 2022, Perak FM 95.6MHz dari Gunung Kledang dan Kedah FM 90.5MHz dari Bukit Palong diterima di Bintulu, Sarawak.

Rakaman video dibuat olek Shafik 1995 DXers.

Distance: 1343km

Penerimaan siaran Perak FM 95.6MHz dari Gunung Kledang lebih jelas daripada Kedah FM 90.5MHz dari Bukit Palong di Bintulu, Sarawak.

Kedua-dua stesen radio diterima melalui pemancaran Sporadik-E dimana.

==Kedah FM==

- Frekuensi: FM 90.5MHz

- Kuasa pemancar: 1kW

- Tempat pemancar: Bukit Palong, Baling, Kedah

- Tempat penerima: Bintulu, Sarawak

- Jarak:  1371km

==Perak FM==

- Frekuensi: FM 95.6MHz

- Kuasa pemancar: 2kW

- Tempat pemancar: Gunung Kledang, Ipoh, Perak.

- Tempat penerima: Bintulu, Sarawak

- Jarak:  1343km

The furthest location where I listened to my favorite radio station Traxx FM by transmitter site.

Traxx FM is my most favorite English music radio station so far (never compare with BFM 89.9 which is talk radio station). As I'm its listener, I also perform DXing of this radio station in distant locations.

Here are the furthest locations where I tuned to Traxx FM by transmitter sites (above 120km).

1. Gunung Ledang FM 97.4MHz

- Receiving location: Padang Tengku, Pahang (220km)

2. Gunung Telapak Burok FM 88.7MHz

- Receiving location: Sitiawan, Perak (212km)

3. Gunung Pulai FM 102.9MHz

- Receiving location: Lurah Bilut, Pahang (291km)

4. Gunung Kledang FM 90.1MHz

- Receiving location: Morib, Selangor (210km)

5. Gunung Ulu Kali FM 100.1MHz

- Receiving location: Gemas, Negeri Sembilan (131km)

6. Gunung Brinchang FM 101.1MHz

- Receiving location: Kuala Selangor, Selangor (131km)

(Sporadic E propagation DX): Peninsular Malaysia radio station received in Bintulu, Sarawak.

In 2nd February 2022, between 1700-1900 hours, Sporadic E propagation happened in Bintulu, Sarawak.

A DXer named Shafik 1995 DXers received many Peninsular Malaysia transmitted radio stations in Bintulu, Sarawak via Sporadic E propagation where receiving distance is between 1200-1500km from transmitter site to receiver site.

Here are the radio stations from Peninsular Malaysia where he received in Bintulu, Sarawak.

1. Radio Klasik FM 88.7MHz Bukit Palong (Baling, Kedah)

Distance: 1371km

2. Fly FM 89.9MHz Bukit Penara (Penang)

Distance: 1443km

3. Kedah FM 90.5MHz Bukit Palong (Baling, Kedah)

Distance: 1371km

4. Hot FM 90.5MHz Bukit Larut (Taiping, Perak)

Distance: 1373km

5. Perak FM 95.6MHz Gunung Kledang (Ipoh and Central Perak)

Distance: 1343km

6. Suria FM 96.0MHz Gunung Kledang (Ipoh and Central Perak)

Distance: 1343km

7. Nasional FM 96.5MHz Bukit Bakar (Machang, Kelantan)

Distance: 1225km

8. Minnal FM 98.9MHz Gunung Kledang (Ipoh and Central Perak)

Distance: 1343km

9. Lite FM 101.5MHz Gunung Kledang (Ipoh and Central Perak)

Distance: 1343km

10. IKIM FM 102.7MHz Gunung Kledang (Ipoh and Central Perak)

Distance: 1343km

11. IKIM FM 89.8MHz Bukit Panau (Kota Bharu)

Distance: 1244km

Among all 11 Sporadic E radio stations, Perak FM 95.6MHz from Gunung Kledang was the clearest in Bintulu, Sarawak with STEREO signal, meanwhile rest of radio stations signal were in MONO.

Hot FM 90.5MHz Bukit Larut transmission is very impressive because it can overspill to Bintulu, despite it operates low power transmission as much as 250W only.

Fly FM 89.9MHz Bukit Penara is the furthest Spoardic E radio station in Bintulu, Sarawak among all.

Fly FM is available in Bintulu, Sarawak on 89.9MHz, despite it has no frequencies in Sabah and Sarawak?

Fly FM is a Malaysia English radio station by Media Prima Audio, it is the only Media Prima Audio radio station which is unavailable in Sabah and Sarawak in terms of frequency coverage.

Surprisingly on 2nd February 2022, someone received Fly FM in Bintulu, Sarawak on FM 89.9MHz from Bukit Penara, Penang.

According to the footage, Fly FM 89.9MHz from Bukit Penara, Penang is just a Sporadic E propagation in Bintulu, Sarawak.

- Frequency: FM 89.9MHz

- Power: 2kW

- Transmission site: Bukit Penara, Penang

- Receiving site: Bintulu, Sarawak

- Distance: 1443km

- Receiver: TECSUN PL-310ET

Neglect about the propagation, Fly FM can actually expand its coverage in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching in order to compete with Mix and Hitz.

Kelantan FM 97.3MHz from Bukit Bakar received in Langkawi, Kedah

Back to November 2021, I received RTM Kelantan FM on 97.3MHz from Bukit Bakar in certain areas of Pahang state such as Cameron Highlands, Benta, and Merapoh.

The furthest location where I received Kelantan FM 97.3MHz was in Benta with 190km distance.

Two weeks ago during Chinese New Year eve, a DXer named Sarawut DXers captured this radio station in Langkawi, Kedah where it is further than mine.

The actual receiving location is at Gunung Raya top peak in Langkawi Island, Kedah, but the signal is under tropospheric propagation.

No interference from any adjacent stations was detected so far, despite there are Sinar FM 97.1MHz and Kedah FM 97.5MHz operating in Gunung Jerai for Mainland Kedah (97km from Langkawi).

- Frequency: FM 97.3MHz

- Power: 2kW

- Transmission site: Bukit Bakar, Machang, Kelantan

- Receiving site: Gunung Raya top peak, Langkawi Island, Kedah

- Distance: 282km

Saturday 5 February 2022

Radio Thailand Yala FM 95.0MHz received in Bagan Datuk & Selekoh, Perak, Malaysia.

Alongside Indonesia radio stations, I also received Radio Thailand Yala FM 95.0MHz in Bagan Datuk and Selekoh, Perak, Malaysia on 31st January 2022 during Chinese New Year eve.

This surprised me actually because I received Thailand radio stations from Yala in Bagan Datuk & Selekoh, Perak state, Malaysia.

Usually I just heard North Perak such as Gerik, Klian Intan, Semanggol and Bagan Serai could receive Thailand radio stations partially.

About Radio Thailand Yala FM 95.0MHz, Bagan Datuk is the newest location to receive this radio station after Ipoh where I heard in January 2020.

Transmitter site is located in Khao Pok Yo, Bannang Sata District, Yala Province, Thailand. Radio Thailand Yala operates at 1kW transmitter power on FM 95.0MHz.

Signal negative on FM 92.0MHz and FM 94.25MHz due to Gunung Kledang transmitter (Ai FM 92.1MHz & Mix FM 94.3MHz).

Here are the videos of receiving Radio Thailand Yala FM 95.0MHz in Bagan Datuk & Selekoh, Perak, Malaysia.

1. Bagan Datuk (269km)

STEREO signal is detected at final part of the video.

2. Selekoh (276km)

Radio Thailand Yala FM 95.0MHz is having adjacent channel interference with RTM Radio Klasik FM 94.9MHz from Gunung Jerai in Bagan Datuk and Selekoh, Perak, Malaysia.

Signal disappeared in Hutan Melintang.

FM DX 2022: Gunung Ledang transmitted radio stations received in Sitiawan, Perak. Furthest local radio station ever!

After I had written about receiving Indonesia radio stations from Medan in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia, it is even more interesting to receive FM radio signal in Sitiawan where is further than Indonesia and Thailand (Satun).

In the past years, I could receive few radio stations from Gunung Telapak Burok in Sitiawan such as Traxx FM 88.7MHz, Ai FM 89.7MHz, Hitz FM 95.0MHz, Hot FM 99.5MHz and CityPlus FM 106.0MHz which I recorded from 2018 to 2020. Receiving distance from Gunung Telapak Burok to Sitiawan Tua Pek Kung temple is 212km.

On 2nd February 2022, I received 3 Gunung Ledang transmitted radio stations at Tua Pek Kung temple in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia such as Ai FM 100.4MHz, Melody FM 107.3MHz and Negeri FM 107.7MHz. Distance is 292km, hence it becomes the furthest radio transmitter received there.

Note: It happens only during tropospheric propagation. No signal is available during normal propagation.

1. Ai FM 100.4MHz

Signal did not hold for long period as Ai FM 100.4MHz propagation from Gunung Ledang disappeared quickly in Sitiawan, Perak. Adjacent channel interference with MY FM 100.6MHz from Gunung Kledang which is local transmitter could be detected when monitoring Ai FM 100.4MHz signal.

2. Melody FM 107.3MHz

The most stable and loudest Gunung Ledang radio station heard in Sitiawan, Perak before Radio Muslim Al-Fatih FM 107.3MHz from Medan, Indonesia overspill its signal there.

3. Negeri FM 107.7MHz

In Sitiawan, there are three RTM state radio stations available such as Perak FM 95.6MHz (from Gunung Kledang), Pahang FM 107.5MHz (Gunung Ulu Kali) and Selangor FM 100.9MHz (from GUnung Ulu Kali), meanwhile Mutiara FM 93.9MHz Gunung Jerai is very weak. However, Negeri FM 107.7MHz from Gunung Ledang is receivable partly, while 92.6MHz from Gunung Telapak Burok is not receivable due to adjacent station Hitz FM 92.7MHz from Gunung Kledang.

Adjacent channel interference with GoXUAN FM 107.6MHz from Bukit Penara, Penang was detected when monitoring Negeri FM 107.7MHz Gunung Ledang signal propagation in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia.

Suria FM 88.5MHz, IKIM FM 89.5MHz, Mix FM 91.1MHz, Best FM 94.8MHz, Traxx FM 97.4MHz, and Melaka FM 102.3MHz are negative in Sitiawan, Perak during tropospheric season.

FM DX in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia (2022): Received Medan based Indonesia radio stations

Every year of Chinese New Year festival, I do travel to Sitiawan on second day of Chinese New Year holiday from Teluk Intan, and I enjoy eating Red Wine Noodles there.

Tua Pek Kung temple at Pasir Panjang in Sitiawan, Perak is the place where I often visit annually. The place is a Chinese workship temple, also some food and confectionery stalls there.

It is an interesting place to perform "radio fishing" (also known as DXing). I brought two radio receivers such as TECSUN PL-380 and PL-310ET there. Before I owned these receivers, I usually DX through Samsung Galaxy V Plus radio, but it is not nice because it is audio only, instead of footage based.

In January 2020, I only caught two Indonesia radio stations, namely Radio DSB FM 93.8MHz from Deli Serdang and Sergai FM 92.5MHz from Sei Rampah. For 2022, these two radio stations had no signal could be heard in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia, but I received three radio stations from Medan, Indonesia.

Reception of Medan based Indonesia radio stations in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia were inconsistently receivable, instead they are tropospheric propagation only.

Here are the list of Indonesia radio stations which I received in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia on 2nd February 2022. Receiving distance is between 235km and 240km.

1. Suara Medan FM 94.7MHz

The most difficult Indonesia radio station received in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia due to interference with RTM Perak FM 94.7MHz from Gunung Brinchang which is also distant weak transmitter.

Co-channel interference between Suara Medan FM 94.7MHz and Perak FM 94.7MHz Gunung Brinchang transmitter could be heard during tropospheric propagation in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia. Hence, this is a troposphere interference.

2. Mutiara Kartika FM 100.3MHz Medan

Another radio station which is also difficult to be received in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia due to adjacent radio station MY FM 100.2MHz from Bukit Larut. However, Mutiara Kartika FM 100.3MHz signal strength was getting higher and clearer there during tropospheric propagation with little interference from MY FM 100.2MHz Bukit Larut transmitter.

3. Radio Muslim Al-Fatih FM 107.3MHz Medan

Signal was weaker than Mutiara Kartika FM 100.3MHz in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia, but co-channel interference with another tropospheric radio station Melody FM 107.3MHz from Gunung Ledang (which covers Melaka and North Johor) was detected.

Overall, Mutiara Kartika FM 100.3MHz was the strongest Medan based radio stations, but it has interference with MY FM 100.2MHz from Bukit Larut, meanwhile Radio Muslim Al-Fatih FM 107.3MHz is the most stable one without interference obviously.

Radio Radja Medan FM 107.7MHz, and RRI Medan PRO-2 FM 92.4MHz signal were negative in Sitiawan, Perak, Malaysia.

Indonesia FM radio stations received in Bagan Datuk, Perak, Malaysia

Bagan Datuk is located in Southwest Perak, where is 40km away from Teluk Intan. It is also located in coastal area of Perak state.

This small town makes me interesting to receive Indonesia FM radio stations from Medan and other areas within North Sumatra province due to its geographical condition.

There are 7 Indonesia radio stations received in Bagan Datuk during Chinese New Year eve when it fell on 31st January 2022.

1. Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Medan FM 92.4MHz

Signal propagation was on and off, receiving distance is 243km.

2. Radio Sergai FM 92.5MHz from Sei Rampah

Weakest Indonesia radio station received in Bagan Datuk, interference with tropospheric radio station RRI Medan PRO-2 FM 92.4MHz could be heard.

Receiving distance from Sei Rampah to Bagan Datuk: 192km

3. Radio DSB FM 93.8MHz from Deli Serdang

Bagan Datuk was my second location to receive Radio DSB FM 93.8MHz on 31st January 2022 after Sitiawan in January 2020. Receiving distance from Deli Serdang is 218km.

4. Radio Indah Suara RIS FM 96.5MHz from Perbaungan

The most powerful tropospheric radio station heard in Bagan Datuk, but it had adjacent channel interference with Sinar FM 96.4MHz from Bukit Larut occasionally. Receiving distance from Perbaungan to Bagan Datuk is 208km.

5. Radio Kardopa Medan FM 99.4MHz (adjacently tune to 99.5MHz)

Signal is unavailable on FM 99.4MHz due to local radio station THR Raaga FM 99.3MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali, but Radio Kardopa Medan could be heard in Bagan Datuk by tuning the frequency adjacently to FM 99.5MHz.

Distance is 240km.

6. Radio Muslim Al-Faith FM 107.3MHz Medan

My second Perak location to receive Radio Muslim Al-Fatih FM 107.3MHz after Teluk Intan. Signal is stable with statics and without interference, but it is not clear as Radio Indah Suara FM 96.5MHz from Perbaungan and Radio Radja FM 107.7MHz from Medan.

Receiving distance is 244km.

7. Radio Jawa (Raja FM) 107.7MHz Medan

First location to receive Radio Jawa (Raja FM) 107.7MHz in Perak state, and it is the clearest Medan based radio station, however adjacent channel interference with GoXUAN FM 107.6MHz from Bukit Penara could be heard occasionally there.

Here is a chart of Indonesia radio stations which I received in Bagan Datuk, Perak, Malaysia from clearest to weakest.

1. Radio Indah Suara FM 96.5MHz Perbaungan

2. Radio Jawa (Raja) FM 107.7MHz Medan

3. Radio Muslim Al-Fatih FM 107.3MHz Medan

4. Radio DSB FM 93.8MHz Deli Serdang

5. Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Medan PRO-2 FM 92.4MHz

6. Sergai FM 92.5MHz Sei Rampah

7. Radio Kardopa Medan FM 99.4MHz

I could not receive Suara Medan FM 94.7MHz and Mutiara Kartika FM 100.3MHz in Bagan Datuk as I planned early because RTM Perak FM 94.7MHz and Pahang FM 100.3MHz from Gunung Brinchang are quite strong there (thus weaker signal).

FM DX 2022: PSU Radio Pattani FM 107.25MHz from Thailand, the furthest radio station received in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia

Two years ago in January 2020, I received 3 Thailand radio stations in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia during tropospheric propagation such as Radio Thailand Satun FM 99.5MHz, MCOT Satun FM 93.25MHz and Radio Thailand Yala FM 95.0MHz.

Now in 2022, I receive a Thailand radio station in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia which is even further than Satun in terms of receiving distance.

In 1st February 2022, I received PSU Radio Pattani FM 107.25MHz in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia in the morning during cold tropospheric propagation.

Interference noise from Nasional FM 107.1MHz Bukit Larut transmitter could be heard when I received PSU Radio Pattani FM 107.25MHz, but interference was reduced after tuning adjacently to FM 107.26MHz.

- Station: PSU Radio Pattani

- Frequency: FM 107.25MHz

- Power: 1kW

- Transmission site: Tambon Rusamilae, Mueang Pattani District, Pattani Province, Thailand

Before 2022, Radio Thailand Satun FM 99.5MHz was the furthest radio station in Teluk Intan with 310km distance. Now, I break the FM DX record again by receiving PSU Radio Pattani FM 107.25MHz with 317km distance.

Flashback 2020: MCOT Satun 93.25MHz, Radio Thailand Yala FM 95.0MHz & Radio Thailand Satun FM 99.5MHz reception in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia.

FM DX in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia: Receive Indonesia FM radio stations from Medan, North Sumatera Province.

In 2019, I was used to only receive an Indonesia radio station in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia, it was Radio Sergai FM 92.5MHz from Sei Rampah, North Sumatera Province.

During Chinese New Year festival in 2022, I traveled to Teluk Intan, Perak after 2 years hiatus. Hence, I never forget about FM DXing.

Compare with 2020, I have received more tropospheric radio stations in Teluk Intan this year. There are about 4 Indonesia radio stations from Medan received in Teluk Intan, Perak, namely:

- Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Medan PRO-2 FM 92.4MHz

- Suara Medan FM 94.7MHz

- Radio Kardopa FM 99.4MHz Medan (adjacently tuned on 99.5MHz)

- Radio Muslim Al-Fatih FM 107.3MHz

- Radio Jawa (Raja) FM 107.7MHz

Receiving distance from transmitter sites is between 265km and 272km.

1. Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Medan PRO-2 FM 92.4MHz

Signal was received at Jalan Changkat Jong nearby Caltex petrol station, propagation was weak.

2. Suara Medan FM 94.7MHz

The hardest Indonesia radio station received in Teluk Intan, Perak because FM 94.7MHz is mostly RTM Perak FM signal from Gunung Brinchang. I only received this rare signal of Suara Medan FM 94.7MHz from Indonesia under troposphere interference condition.

3. Radio Muslim Al-Fatih FM 107.3MHz

Received in two locations, Pasir Berdamar site nearby Perak River and Jalan Changkat Jong. Signal is only available during tropospheric propagation.

4. Radio Jawa (Raja) FM 107.7MHz Medan

Rare signal actually. FM 107.7MHz has no signal during most of the time, meanwhile interference from GoXUAN FM 107.6MHz Bukit Penara transmitter happens occasionally in Teluk Intan.

5. Radio Kardopa Medan FM 99.4MHz

Frequency is actually FM 99.4MHz. Due to THR Raaga FM 99.3MHz Gunung Ulu Kali transmitter, I tuned the frequency adjacently to FM 99.5MHz, hence adjacent station Radio Kardopa Medan was heard in Teluk Intan.

Among 5 Indonesia radio stations which I received in Teluk Intan, Radio Muslim Al-Fatih FM 107.3MHz was the strongest, following by Radio Radja Medan FM 107.7MHz and RRI Medan PRO-2 FM 92.4MHz.

Throwback 2015, 2016 & 2019: Radio Mora FM 91.3MHz (Pematangsiantar) Sergai FM 92.5MHz from Sei Rampah, Indonesia received in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia
