Thailand FM radio stations are usually receivable in Malaysia region near Thailand border such as Kedah, Perlis, North Kelantan and part of North Perak, meanwhile listeners in some Penang areas can tune to Thailand radio stations with weak signal.
However, before this, none of people were tuning any FM radio stations from Thailand in Terengganu, but it is my very first time to receive and tune Thailand FM radio stations in Terengganu state, Malaysia.
In Terengganu state, Thailand FM radio stations which transmitted from Narathiwat, Sungai Golok and Yala are available in Jerteh, Kuala Besut, and Kampung Raja.
Available Thailand radio stations in Terengganu are:
1. Radio Thailand Yala FM 92.0MHz
2. Radio Thailand Yala FM 95.0MHz (available in Kuala Besut only)
3. MCOT Yala FM 102.5MHz (available in Kuala Besut only)
4. Parliament Radio Station FM 89.0MHz Yala
5. Radio Thailand Sungai Golok FM 106.5MHz
6. Radio Thailand Narathiwat FM 98.25MHz
7. 912 Radio FM 99.1MHz Narathiwat (weak)
8. Voice of Navy FM 94.75MHz Narathiwat (available in Kuala Besut only)
9. KCS Radio FM 96.0MHz Narathiwat (available in Jerteh only)
Note: Radio Thailand Yala FM 94.25MHz is unavailable in North Terengganu and Kelantan's Pasir Puteh/Bachok due to RTM Radio Klasik FM 94.3MHz Bukit Bintang transmitter. Potentially KCS Radio FM 96.0MHz from Narathiwat, Thailand is not likely available in North Terengganu due to adjacent channel interference with RTM Terengganu FM 96.2MHz Bukit Bintang transmitter.
Here are the Thailand radio stations where I tuned in Terengganu, Malaysia by following locations below:
1. Jerteh
2. Kuala Besut
By comparing Thailand radio stations reception between Jerteh and Kuala Besut, Khao Pok Yo (Yala) transmitted frequencies are clearer in Kuala Besut than Jerteh, meanwhile Radio Thailand Sungai Golok FM 106.5MHz signal in Jerteh is weaker than Kuala Besut.
Thailand Parliament Radio Station FM 89.0MHz from Khao Pok Yo (YALA) has mild adjacent channel interference with RTM Terengganu FM 88.9MHz from Hulu Besut (Felda Tenang) in Jerteh town, meanwhile MCOT Yala FM 102.5MHz is interfered by Suria FM 102.4MHz from Bukit Besar.
Note:
I skipped FM DXing in Kampung Raja because the signal of Thailand radio
stations there is not much different with Kuala Besut as the distance
between Kampung Raja and Kuala Besut is just 6km.
Other than Besut district, I also heard Radio Thailand Yala FM 92.0MHz and Radio Thailand Sungai Golok FM 106.5MHz in Setiu areas such as Bandar Permaisuri and Chalok.
Under
international frequency coordination agreement between MCMC (Malaysia)
and NBTC (Thailand), Bukit Bintang Besut transmitter is involved in the
Malaysia-Thailand border frequency coordination because Thailand radio
stations can transmit to Besut areas, mainly Kuala Besut and Jerteh.
