Under Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), Sabah and Sarawak should be given autonomy to regulate FM radio frequencies spectrum.

For the time being, Malaysia Communications & Multimedia Commission (MCMC) does not allow new frequency application for FM radio broadcast, this applies the entire Malaysia, from Peninsular Malaysia to Sabah and Sarawak.

Regarding the frequencies traffic condition in Sabah and Sarawak for FM radio broadcast, it is not peak as Peninsular Malaysia.

In my opinion, as radio broadcast in Sabah and Sarawak are mostly relayed from Peninsular Malaysia. Under Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), Sabah and Sarawak should be given the autonomy to manage and regulate the frequencies spectrum for FM radio, even TV.

This means MCMC Sabah and Sarawak branches are given autonomy to regulate and handle the states' FM radio spectrum, meanwhile MCMC headquarter from Cyberjaya (Peninsular Malaysia) becomes auxiliary.

Why? This is because radio is still an important medium, and it is essential in Sabah and Sarawak as people are listening to radio via frequencies transmission over internet platform. In addition, by giving autonomy to MCMC Sabah and MCMC Sarawak for frequency regulation and planning, this can encourage new radio players in Borneo states.

Autonomy given to Sabah and Sarawak for frequency regulation will benefit to Sabah and Sarawak radio broadcast license holders because they can direct to local branches of MCMC without "flying" to the headquarter in Cyberjaya.

In Sabah and Sarawak, there are plenty of vacant FM frequencies, MCMC should allow new frequencies application if a radio station wants to expand the coverage to the target area, subject to the frequency availability and technical criteria set up by MCMC.

In conclusion, MCMC should partially allow the new frequency application of FM radio broadcast for those non-peak coverage.

RTM Minnal FM tuned in Bintulu, Sarawak via Sporadic E signal from Peninsular Malaysia

Minnal FM, the Tamil radio station owned by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) is only available in Peninsular Malaysia on radio frequency transmission platform, it is unavailable in Sabah and Sarawak because both states have very less Indians (apporximately below than 300 in major towns/cities).

However, from year 2022 to 2023, my friend, Shafik 1995 captured several Minnal FM frequencies signal in Bintulu, Sarawak through Sporadic E signal propagation from Peninsular Malaysia.

Through Sporadic E propagation, Minnal FM signal availability holds for a while only in Sarawak, but the signal is not available most of the time.

1. FM 98.9MHz Gunung Kledang (1343km)

[Target area: Ipoh and Central Perak]

2. FM 96.3MHz Gunung Ulu Kali (1251km)

[Target area: Selangor and West Pahang]

3. FM 91.9MHz Bukit Istana (1190km)

[Target area: Jerantut, Pahang]

4. FM 90.5MHz Gunung Telapak Buruk (1220km)

[Target area: Negeri Sembilan]

Minnal FM can be tuned in Sabah and Sarawak by following platforms below:

- MYTV

- Astro

RTM Nasional FM 96.5MHz received in Bintulu, Sarawak via Sproadic E, but it is very difficult to identify the transmitting site due to Nasional FM uses 96.5MHz in three different locations.

From 2022 to 2023, my friend Shafik 1995 received Nasional FM 96.5MHz signal in Bintulu, Sarawak via Sporadic E propagation.

First version was released on 2nd February 2022, the video claimed that the signal was from Bukit Bakar. I asked him whether he could get Kelantan FM 97.3MHz in Bintulu or not, he told me that the signal was negative on FM 97.3MHz.

Second version was released on 7th December 2023, but video stated that signal of Nasional FM 96.5MHz was transmitted from Sedili, Johor.

Alongside Bukit Bakar and Sedili, RTM Nasional FM is also using the frequency 96.5MHz in Bukit Tampalagus for Sipitang, Sabah.

As Nasional FM operates on the frequency 96.5MHz in Bukit Bakar (for Kelantan), Sedili (East Johor) and Bukit Tampalagus (for Sipitang, Sabah), it is very hard to identify the transmitter site of this Sporadic E radio signal when tune in Bintulu, but there are several possibilities by transmitter sites.

1. If Nasional FM 96.5MHz Sporadic E signal in Bintulu is transmitted from Bukit Bakar, the listeners may capture Radio Klasik FM 95.5MHz, Kelantan FM 97.3MHz and Minnal FM 100.9MHz signal at the same time.

2. RTM Nasional FM uses 96.5MHz in Sedili, meanwhile Radio Klasik is on FM 100.5MHz. As FM 100.5MHz is used by Red FM in Bukit Setiam for Bintulu, so I'm not able to compare with it because RTM only operates two radio stations in Sedili, Johor.

3. If RTM Nasional FM 96.5MHz Sporadic E signal is from Bukit Tampalagus, Sabah, tuned in Bintulu, other radio stations from same transmitter sites such as Radio Klasik FM 95.5MHz, Sabah FM 97.9MHz, Traxx FM 99.1MHz, Ai FM 99.9MHz and Sabah VFM 102.9MHz may be receivable there at the same receiving time.

RTM Wai FM Bidayuh/Kayan can launch frequencies in Miri Division to separate from Miri FM slot, so Talidio Kenyah and Radio Kayan can have more broadcast hours.

Wai FM Bidayuh/Kayan is currently available in Kuching on FM 106.1MHz and Serian on FM 101.9MHz, the broadcast hours of Bidayuh language program is from 6am to 12pm, then 6pm to 12am, meanwhile Kayan language is from 12pm to 6pm.

In Miri, Radio Kayan is given 2 hours broadcast on Miri FM frequencies, meanwhile Talidio Kenyah is only 1 hour. However, both have 3 hours broadcast on Facebook LIVE or YouTube LIVE streaming.

Radio Kayan broadcasts from 12pm to 6pm on Wai FM Bidayuh frequency. Talidio Kenyah broadcast hours is from 3pm to 6pm, it has airtime conflict with Radio Kayan as both broadcast from 3pm to 6pm together. So, Talidio Kenyah cannot broadcast on Miri FM frequency from 3pm to 5pm due to Radio Kayan.

Meanwhile Radio Kayan is not available from 12pm to 3pm on Miri FM frequency due to Wai FM Iban.

In my opinion, RTM can launch Wai FM Bidayuh/Kayan frequencies in Miri Division, meanwhile Radio Kayan can be removed from Miri FM, then Talidio Kenyah can have longer airtime on Miri FM via radio frequency transmission from 3pm to 6pm, instead of current 5pm to 6pm.

This means Radio Kayan and Talidio Kenyah will be separated by not sharing on Miri FM frequencies. If it happens, Radio Kayan can be tuned by the listeners for 6 hours in Miri, same airtime as Wai FM Bidayuh/Kayan in Kuching and Serian, then the Kenyah radio listeners can tune Talidio Kenyah Miri FM for 3 hours via FM radio. Hence, both of them won't clash each other without sacrificing the airtime on the radio.

To launch Wai FM Bidayuh/Kayan in Miri Division, same as other RTM radio stations, it should have 3 transmitters such as Bukit Lambir, RTM Miri and Bukit TT844 Niah.

RTM Miri transmitting station sends the studio feed to Bukit Lambir. Without RTM Miri, Bukit Lambir cannot receive any signal feed from RTM Miri FM studio, Bukit TT844 Niah is for Subis district where is a blindspot of Bukit Lambir radio transmitter coverage.

==Proposal of Radio Kayan airtime in Miri==

* Suggestion: Launching independent frequency of Wai FM Bidayuh/Kayan in Miri

* Airtime: 12pm to 6pm without clashing with Talidio Kenyah

==Proposal of Talidio Kenyah airtime in Miri==

* Airtime: 3pm to 6pm on FM radio frequency transmission via Miri FM 95.7/98.0/95.1MHz

With such proposal, RTM will have 8 radio stations in Miri Division by following frequencies and transmitter sites below:

==RTM Miri==

* 107.1MHz: Radio Klasik

* 99.3MHz: Nasional FM

* 100.3MHz: Sarawak FM

* 104.5MHz: Traxx FM

* 105.3MHz: Ai FM

* 106.3MHz: Red FM

* 98.0MHz: Miri FM + Wai FM Iban + Talidio Kenyah

* 103.6MHz: Wai FM Bidayuh + Radio Kayan (suggestion)

==Bukit Lambir==

* 91.9MHz: Radio Klasik

* 92.7MHz: Nasional FM

* 88.1MHz: Sarawak FM

* 88.9MHz: Traxx FM

* 89.9MHz: Ai FM

* 90.7MHz: Red FM

* 95.7MHz: Miri FM + Wai FM Iban + Talidio Kenyah

* 107.5MHz: Wai FM Bidayuh + Radio Kayan (suggestion)

==RTM Bukit TT844 Suai==

* 95.1MHz: Miri FM + Wai FM Iban +  Talidio Kenyah

* 97.1MHz: Sarawak FM

* 92.3MHz: Wai FM Bidayuh + Radio Kayan (suggestion)

Suggested frequencies are based on my spectrum band study.

Treat it fairly, Talidio Kenyah can join Wai FM Bidayuh/Kayan, but Radio Kayan airtime will be reduced from 6 hours to 3 hours if it happens.

RTM Muzik FM can launch at least 1 frequency on FM band in Kuala Lumpur Tower to cover Klang Valley, alongside online streaming.

RTM relaunched Muzik FM on 13th February 2024 in conjunction with World Radio Day after 6 years hiatus.

Muzik FM is only available via online streaming at www.muzikfm.rtm.gov.my or www.muzikfmrtm.com

It is impossible of Muzik FM relaunches on Nasional FM's frequencies, then Nasional FM merges with Radio Klasik and becomes Klasik Nasional because both existing radio stations (Radio Klasik and Nasional FM) are still important to RTM.

Radio Klasik has many listeners actually, especially the middle age to the seniors, meanwhile Nasional FM acts a RTM's flagship Malay language national radio station to serve the country by delivering country messages like Australia's ABC Radio National or Japan's NHK Radio 1.

It is very difficult to get a new FM frequencies nowadays due to spectrum band is fully occupied. This will cause Muzik FM cannot broadcast on FM radio transmission nationwide with new frequencies like before.

In my opinion, Muzik FM can relaunch via FM frequency transmission by setting up at least a transmitter in Kuala Lumpur Tower for Klang Valley because I may realize KL Tower may have 1 empty frequency, but lower transmitter power.

FM 107.3MHz is the only empty frequency where Muzik FM can operate in Kuala Lumpur Tower. While other RTM radio stations in Kuala Lumpur Tower operated at 1kW transmitter power per station, but I only suggest Muzik FM to operate only 300W transmitter power in Kuala Lumpur Tower due to 200kHz frequency separation with RTM Pahang FM 107.5MHz Gunung Ulu Kali transmitter which only covers West Pahang. It is already sufficient of Muzik FM 107.3MHz covering Kuala Lumpur and surrounding Klang Valley areas at 300W transmitter power from KL Tower. Interference to Pahang FM 107.5MHz coverage in West Pahang including Genting Highlands can be happened if transmitter power is set at 1kW.

It is impossible of Muzik FM to launch on new frequency in Gunung Ulu Kali for Greater Klang Valley because Gunung Ulu Kali has no vacant frequencies.

Regarding the interference to Pahang FM 107.5MHz Gunung Ulu Kali coverage in Klang Valley due to Muzik FM 107.3MHz KL Tower transmitter, as both are operated by RTM, so I strongly believe that RTM can manage the frequency interference between both parties. In addition, it is impossible of Muzik FM 107.3MHz Kuala Lumpur Tower transmitter can overspill to West Pahang and cause interference to Pahang FM 107.5MHz coverage there.

==Proposal of launching Muzik FM new frequency for Klang Valley only==

* Frequency: FM 107.3MHz

* Power: 0.3kW

* Transmitter site: Kuala Lumpur Tower

* Coverage: Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Ampang, Kajang, Puchong, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Seri Kembangan, Putrajaya, Bangi, Klang, Cyberjaya, Gombak, Selayang, Puncak Alam, and Sungai Buloh

==RF analysis==

107.0MHz: Suria FM Gunung Telapak Buruk

107.3MHz: Muzik FM Kuala Lumpur Tower

<300kHz, OK>

107.3MHz: Muzik FM Kuala Lumpur Tower

107.5MHz: Pahang FM Gunung Ulu Kali (West Pahang only)

<200kHz, OK>

==Simulated coverage map of Muzik FM 107.3MHz Kuala Lumpur Tower at 300W (Green= 54dBuV/m STEREO coverage)==

Based on the coverage map of Muzik FM 107.3MHz Kuala Lumpur Tower transmitter by following above, the coverage is sufficient in Klang Valley at 300W transmitter power, preliminary check no interference to Pahang FM 107.5MHz coverage in West Pahang.

I will express my suggestion to RTM over this proposal, hope MCMC can award the frequency to RTM for Muzik FM.

RTM state radio stations tuned in Hulu Langat, Selangor

In Hulu Langat, Selangor, the radio listeners can tune about 3-4 RTM state radio stations such as Selangor FM 100.9MHz, Pahang FM 107.5MHz, Negeri FM 92.6MHz and KL FM 97.2MHz, meanwhile Melaka FM 102.3MHz from Gunung Ledang is the most difficult RTM state radio station tuned there.

Here are my videos of receiving RTM state radio stations in Hulu Langat, Selangor which released in August 2020 and today.

1. Selangor FM 100.9MHz (Gunung Ulu Kali)

2. Pahang FM 107.5MHz (Gunung Ulu Kali)

3. KL FM 97.2MHz (Kuala Lumpur Tower)

4. Negeri FM 92.6MHz (Gunung Telapak Buruk) & 107.7MHz* (Gunung Ledang)

5. Melaka FM 102.3MHz** (Gunung Ledang)

*Signal is only receivable weakly in Pangsun.

**Only receivable in Batu 20.

FM radio DXing in Hulu Langat by tuning Gunung Ledang radio stations signal as the farewell of Radio DX #KitaSelangor

Today is my last day of radio DXing in Selangor state, Hulu Langat is my final location of Radio DX #KitaSelangor. I set a farewell of this radio DXing series today.

Actually there is nothing special of radio DXing in Hulu Langat by tuning on FM radio frequency, but Gunung Ledang is the furthest transmitter tuned there. On 2nd August 2020, I was used to perform radio DXing in Hulu Langat and I recorded several videos of tuning radio stations from Gunung Ledang in Pangsun such as Raaga FM 99.7MHz and Ai FM 100.4MHz.

Chinese New Year is just ended today, I begin to roll out radio DXing convoy again. Today on 25th February 2024, I expand my radio DXing content in Hulu Langat by receiving more Gunung Ledang radio signal.

In Hulu Langat, the listeners usually tune their favorite radio stations from Gunung Ulu Kali, some of them are from Bukit Sungai Besi and Kuala Lumpur Tower, meanwhile Gunung Telapak Buruk radio stations are weak there.

By conducting overall radio signal monitoring in Hulu Langat on Gunung Ledang frequencies, most of the areas have no signal. Gunung Ledang radio stations have no signal in Batu 14, Batu 18 and Dusun Tua, but Pangsun and Batu 20 are the best locations to DX Gunung Ledang radio signal in Hulu Langat.

Here are my videos of tuning Gunung Ledang transmitted radio stations in Hulu Langat, including videos from August 2020. Receiving location is in Kampung Pangsun near a mosque, meanwhile Melaka FM 102.3MHz is tuned in Batu 20 near Kampung Lubuk Manggis while heading from Pangsun to Batu 18. The receiving distance is 124km.

1. IKIM FM 89.5MHz

2. Best FM 94.8MHz

3. Traxx FM 97.4MHz

4. Raaga FM 99.7MHz (2020 video)

5. Ai FM 100.4MHz (2020 video)

6. Melaka FM 102.3MHz

7. Melody FM 107.3MHz

8. Negeri FM 107.7MHz

Kool 101 diterima di Kelantan pada frekuensi Pulau Pinang FM 90.2MHz dari Bukit Penara? Biar betul!

==Penerimaan siaran Kool 101 di Kelantan==

- Frekuensi: FM 90.2MHz

- Kuasa pemancar: 1kW

- Tempat pemancar: Bukit Penara, Penang

- Tempat penerima: Ketereh, Kelantan

- Jarak: 229km

Kool 101 can be tuned in small part of Kelantan via FM 90.2MHz from Penang's Bukit Penara?

It is 2 years and 3 months anniversary of Kool 101 (formerly known as Buletin FM) closing its transmission in Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu while the frequencies were taken over by Molek FM.

Listeners who tune to Kool 101 in Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu have to listen on either:

1. Audio+ app

2. Kool 101 YouTube LIVE streaming

3. MYTV CH716

I refer several radio DXing videos on YouTube which some people received radio signal from Gunung Jerai in part of Kelantan such as Ketereh, Kota Bharu and Kubang Kerian. Therefore, it makes me interested to know whether Kool 101 can be tuned in these Kelantan areas via frequency FM 90.2MHz from Bukit Penara or not. Then, I drop my request to my radio hobbyists in Kelantan to film video of receiving Kool 101 FM 90.2MHz in Kota Bharu areas.

Initially I predicted that it is impossible to tune Kool 101 via Penang frequency FM 90.2MHz in Kota Bharu (overspill signal from Bukit Penara) because of R-Radio Network FM 90.25MHz from Sungai Golok, Thailand, but surprisingly my friend sends me a video of tuning Kool 101 FM 90.2MHz in Kelantan today.

Kool 101 FM 90.2MHz is the first Bukit Penara transmitted radio station, received in Kelantan. According to my friend, he receives Kool 101 FM 90.2MHz in Ketereh where is just 23km from Kota Bharu, the state capital of Kelantan.

The signal is weak in Ketereh, Kelantan. By comparing between FM 90.2MHz content and Kool 101 online streaming on Audio+ app, both are matched.

Previously, no any records of tuning Kool 101 FM 90.2MHz in Kelantan after its Kota Bharu frequency 88.6MHz became Hot FM.

The radio reception of Kool 101 FM 90.2MHz from Bukit Penara in Kelantan is tropospheric propagation. By conducting the signal availability of Kool 101 FM 90.2MHz in Kelantan, I believe it is receivable in some Kota Bharu areas, meanwhile the frequency will become R-Radio Network FM 90.25MHz from Sungai Golok if I tune in Pasir Mas, Ayer Lanas and Rantau Panjang.

It is impossible of Kool 101 FM 90.2MHz can be heard in Jeli, Tanah Merah, Kuala Krai, Bachok, Tumpat and Pasir Puteh.

==Kool 101 radio reception in Kelantan==

- Frequency: FM 90.2MHz

- Power: 1kW

- Transmitter site: Bukit Penara, Penang

- Receiving site: Ketereh, Kelantan

- Distance: 229km

Penerimaan siaran radio IKIM FM di Daerah Hulu Perak pada frekuensi FM 102.7MHz dari Gunung Kledang (IKIM FM radio reception in Hulu Perak District on 102.7MHz from Gunung Kledang)

On 4th June 2023, I convoy to Hulu Perak for radio DXing. In Hulu Perak district, I recorded the radio signal videos of IKIM FM by tuning FM 102.7MHz from Gunung Kledang.

Here are the videos of receiving IKIM FM 102.7MHz in Hulu Perak district by following locations below:

1. Lenggong (57km)

2. Lawin (83km)

3. Gerik (95km)

Among 3 locations in Hulu Perak District, Lenggong is the clearest town to receive IKIM FM 102.7MHz from Gunung Kledang, meanwhile the signal is weak in Lawin and Gerik. In Lawin, IKIM FM 102.7MHz has interference with Perak FM 102.9MHz. For your information, IKIM FM is not available in Klian Intan on either 102.7MHz or 89.0MHz, but in Pengkalan Hulu, IKIM FM has co-channel interference with Thailand Parliament Radio Station FM 89.0MHz from Yala by tuning the frequency FM 89.0MHz from Gunung Jerai.

Unlike Mediacorp and SPH (Singapore Press Holdings) radio stations, So Drama! Entertainment (formerly known as SAFRA Radio) radio stations 88.3 Jia FM and Power 98FM are not transmitted from Bukit Batok, instead their own Defense Technology Tower B. Why?

Singapore is a small country in ASEAN region, it has 19 local radio stations, operated by Mediacorp, Singapore Press Holdings and So Drama! Entertainment (SAFRA Radio), most of the radio stations transmitters are located in Bukit Batok, except So Drama! Entertainment radio stations, 88.3 Jia FM and Power 98FM.

Honestly 88.3 Jia FM and Power 98FM were used to locate their transmitters in Bukit Batok transmission tower for a moment, I spotted this information via So Drama! Entertainment open tender to supply, test and commissioning the solid state FM radio transmitter for its radio stations in Bukit Batok 5 years ago. I concluded that 88.3 Jia FM and Power 98FM were transmitted from Bukit Batok during that time after reading the tender information.

However, my friend from Singapore has recently tested the signal of 88.3 Jia FM and Power 98FM near Bukit Batok, their field strength reading are not high as Mediacorp and SPH radio stations, meanwhile the signal strength of 88.3 Jia FM and Power 98FM are very high near Defense Tower areas.

The transmitter tower of 883 Jia and Power 98FM is located at the top of the building at Defense Technology Tower B. Transmitter power is 12kW for each station, meanwhile when both were transmitted in Bukit Batok, the transmitter power was only 5kW.

So Drama! Entertainment (formerly known as SAFRA Radio) is the smallest radio broadcaster in Singapore. In my opinion, its radio stations 883Jia and Power 98 located the transmitter system at Defense Technology Tower B can save more transmission cost than using Bukit Batok tower where Bukit Batok's telecommunications tower is belonged to SingTel (Singapore's largest telecommunications company because So Drama! Entertainment office is located at Defense Technology Tower B, formerly known as Singapore Telecom). In addition, So Drama! Entertainment broadcast engineers can maintain the transmitter system of 883Jia and Power 98FM at their company tower without relying on SingTel broadcast transmission services.

By creating the chronology of 883Jia and Power 98's transmitter site history, they were launched in 1994/95 and transmitted from Defense Technology Tower B, then they moved to Bukit Batok temporarily, and shifted back to Defense Technology Tower B again.

I personally suspect that 883Jia and Power 98FM moved to Bukit Batok temporarily because the radio transmitter tower at Defense Technology Tower B had problems, but they moved back to Defense Technology Tower B after repairing the transmission tower.

Mediacorp and SPH radio stations' transmission services are provided and maintained by Singtel in Bukit Batok.

(FM DXing) RTM Mutiara FM 93.9MHz (Gunung Jerai), KL FM 97.2MHz and Kedah FM 88.5MHz (Bukit Sungai Kechil) received in Sitiawan, Perak

During Chinese New Year holiday and in conjunction with World Radio Day, my family and I went to Sitiawan to purchase confectionery and enjoy the food there.

I came back to Tua Pek Kung temple again after 2 years hiatus.

On 12th February 2024, a day before World Radio Day, at Tua Pek Kung Chinese temple in Sitiawan, Perak, I managed to tune Mutiara FM 93.9MHz, KL FM 97.2MHz and Kedah FM 88.5MHz, the signal of both radio stations are very weak actually.

At Sitiawan's Tua Pek Kung temple near the sea, Mutiara FM 93.9MHz Gunung Jerai has co-channel interference with Bernama Radio FM 93.9MHz from Kuala Lumpur Tower occasionally, even it has interference with Radio DSB FM 93.8MHz from Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Indonesia rarely during tropospheric propagation, meanwhile Kedah FM 88.5MHz from Bukit Sungai Kechil has co-channel interference with RTM Nasional FM 88.5MHz from Kuala Lumpur Tower.

KL FM 97.2MHz from Kuala Lumpur Tower has interference with Sinar FM 97.1MHz from Gunung Jerai.

Here are few videos of receiving Mutiara FM 93.9MHz, KL FM 97.2MHz and Kedah FM 88.5MHz in Sitiawan which recorded on 12th February 2024, but I include a video of DXing Mutiara FM 93.9MHz which I filmed at same place 4 years ago.

1. Mutiara FM 93.9MHz Gunung Jerai (182km)

2. Kedah FM 88.5MHz Bukit Sungai Kechil (113km)

3. KL FM 97.2MHz Kuala Lumpur Tower (162km)

Nastra FM 88.6MHz from Langkat, Indonesia received in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia via tropospheric propagation

 After having Chinese New Year eve reunion dinner with my family members at yesterday night, I went back to my late grandmother's house. Initally I would like to perform RDS PS text monitoring of IKIM FM 102.7MHz Gunung Kledang transmitter, but unfortunately I could not capture it. Then, I performed radio frequency scan randomly and I received Nastra FM 88.6MHz from Langkat, Indoneia in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia.

The signal of Nastra FM 88.6MHz was quite clear in Teluk Intan during tropospheric propagation, I was listening to this frequency from 2210 hours to 2300 hours (UTC+8), the signal went weak after 2300 hours. Nastra FM 88.6MHz plays classic Indonesian Dangdut songs, it is based in Pangkalan Susu. Although it targets Langkat Regency in North Sumatra Province, but it overspills to Malaysia territory occasionally during tropospheric propagation.

In my radio DXing history, Nastra FM 88.6MHz from Langkat, Indonesia is the third furthest radio station that I receive in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia as February 2024 after PSU Radio Pattani FM 107.25MHz and MCOT Satun FM 93.25MHz.

As 10th February 2024, Teluk Intan becomes my second location within Malaysia territory of tuning Nastra FM 88.6MHz after Sungai Ayer Tawar in Sabak Bernam District, Selangor where I tuned on 3rd May 2022.

* Frequency: FM 88.6MHz

* Power: unknown

* Transmission site: Pangkalan Susu, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia

* Receiving site: Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia

* Distance: 308km

* Receiver: TECSUN PL-310ET

* Receiving date/time: 09.02.2024 2208H (UTC+8)

Alongside Nastra FM 88.6MHz, I also received Radio Muslim Al-Fatih FM 107.3MHz from Medan, Indonesia again in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia after 2 years from my last radio reception of this frequency in Teluk Intan, but I tuned it indoor.
