Previously I expressed my suggestion regarding the broadcast hours of Talidio Kenyah and Radio Kayan on FM radio platform.
In Kuching and Serian, Wai FM Iban broadcasters 24 hours everyday since 2023. Outside Kuching and Serian, Wai FM Iban broadcast hours are not 24 hours due to local broadcast.
Miri FM is currently struggling with its broadcast airtime as Iban, Kayan, Kenyah and Malay broadcasts share together, formerly Miri FM had Chinese broadcast before integrating to Red FM. Now Talidio Kenyah and Radio Kayan are struggling to expand their broadcast hours on Miri FM.
In my opinion, since Wai FM Iban is now a 24 hours Iban radio station in Kuching and Serian, Wai FM Iban can move out from Miri FM by setting up new frequencies in Miri Division such as RTM Miri, Bukit Lambir and Bukit TT844 Suai. So, Miri becomes 3rd region to have 24 hours broadcast of Wai FM Iban with new frequency.
Iban listeners in Miri Division can listen to Wai FM Iban 24/7.
If RTM sets up new frequencies in Miri Division for Wai FM Iban, this can allow Talidio Kenyah and Radio Kayan to expand their broadcasting hours on Miri FM, but Miri FM broadcast languages will remain 3 languages such as Malay, Kayan and Kenyah only as Iban broadcast moves out to new frequency.
My suggestion of Miri FM broadcast hours after Wai FM Iban has new Miri frequencies.
0600-0900: Talidio Kenyah
0900-1200: Miri FM Malay broadcast
1200-1800: Radio Kayan
1800-2100: Talidio Kenyah
2100-0000: Radio Kayan
0000-0600: Relay Sarawak FM or Wai FM Iban
In Miri, RTM will have 8 radio stations if this suggestion happens.
On 31st August 2024, every Malaysian celebrates 67th Malaysia National Day, the Merdeka theme of this year is "Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka" which means "Civilized Malaysia: The Spirit of Independence".
In conjunction with 67th Malaysia Merdeka theme, I made a special theme of radio DXing, held in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia, known as "Radio DX Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka". It is considered as mini special series because I only make small amount of radio DXing videos.
1. Radio Romania International SW 15300kHz (Spanish)
2. RTM Wai FM SW 11665kHz
3. Radio Romania International SW 21550kHz (English)
4. Remake of RTM Mutiara FM 93.9MHz Gunung Jerai signal video in Teluk Intan, Perak.
Alongside 4 videos, I also published some archive radio DXing videos which filmed in 2019 and 2020 on the same date.
Last year in July 2023, I had managed to tune Radio Romania International shortwave frequencies in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia while I attended my friend's wedding ceremony.
On 31st August 2024, Malaysia celebrated the 67th Merdeka Day (the National Day of Malaysia), I went back to Teluk Intan again after 6 months from Chinese New Year. Although I did not plan to do radio DXing in Teluk Intan because I had already done it for years, but in conjunction with Merdeka theme, titled Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka, so I made a special radio DXing theme with the title "Radio DX Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka".
From 2016 to 2023, I was used to conduct radio DXing in Teluk Intan on FM radio frequencies band, then expanded to MW and SW. For shortwave, I managed to tune the radio stations from China, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea and Japan. Until August 2024, I had successfully tuned Radio Romania International in Teluk Intan at the first time after several attempts in 2022 and 2023.
In Teluk Intan, I tuned Radio Romania International on SW 15300kHz (Spanish broadcast) and 21550kHz (English broadcast). The signal quality of both frequencies are better than what I tuned in Balakong, Selangor because Teluk Intan is located near to coastal areas where European shortwave radio stations can be tuned there well.
1. SW 15300kHz Spanish broadcast
- Transmitter site: Galbeni-Bacau, Romania
- Distance: 8480km
- Receiving date/time: 31st August 2024 0750H (UTC+8)
- SINPO: 55454
2. SW 21550kHz English broadcast
- Transmitter site: Tiganesti, Romania
- Distance: 8503km
- Receiving date/time: 31st August 2024 1334H (UTC+8)
- SINPO: 55454
After Ipoh, Teluk Intan is my second location in Perak to receive Radio Romania International shortwave signal.
