Furthest locations of tuning RTM Selangor FM 100.9MHz in Pahang (TOP 5)

Here is a TOP 5 furthest locations list of tuning RTM Selangor FM 100.9MHz in Pahang state where I checked from November 2021 until today .

1. Muadzam Shah (150km)

2. Merapoh (143km)

3. Maran (111km)

4. Padang Tengku & Jengka (92km)

5. Kuala Lipis (89km)

1. Temerloh (122km)

2. Chenor (125km)

RTM Melaka FM 102.3MHz and Asyik FM 95.6MHz from Gunung Ledang are now available in Temerloh and Chenor, Pahang after upgrading the transmission system in June 2025.

RTM had done upgrading its Gunung Ledang radio transmitter system few weeks ago in June 2025, Melaka FM 102.3MHz which targets Malacca only and RTM Asyik FM 95.6MHz which mainly targets North Johor are now available in Temerloh and Chenor, Pahang.

For Asyik FM, its tuning frequency in Temerloh, Chenor and Maran is actually 102.5MHz, transmitted from Gunung Ulu Kali, but its Gunung Ledang transmitter on FM 95.6MHz can be received moderately in Temerloh and Chenor with mild interference from RTM Pahang FM 95.5MHz Bukit Sulai transmitter.

Before June 2025, Melaka FM 102.3MHz was not available in Pahang state at all, except Keratong, Felda Tembangau and Muadzam Shah, but it is now receivable moderately in Temerloh, Mentakab, and Chenor after its transmitter system was upgraded few weeks ago.

Transmitter powers of both radio stations are same as before, Asyik FM 95.6MHz is still at 0.25kW, meanwhile Melaka FM 102.3MHz is at 1kW, but their coverage become wider due to the antenna system.

In Chenor and Temerloh, I could detect the RDS PS text on my radio receiver when I tune Melaka FM 102.3MHz and Asyik FM 95.6MHz.

When Melaka FM 102.3MHz is now available in Temerloh and Chenor, Pahang FM 102.2MHz from Fraser's Hill which mainly covers Raub is having interference with Melaka FM in both locations. Between Melaka FM 102.3MHz and Pahang FM 102.2MHz, the signal of Melaka FM is stronger than Pahang FM 102.2MHz in Temerloh and Chenor.

From Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan on LPT highway, Melaka FM 102.3MHz is available from Lanchang until Chenor.

Pahang FM 102.2MHz from Bukit Fraser is moderately clear in Karak, but interference with Melaka FM 102.3MHz starts from Lanchang when heading to east.

Asyik FM 95.6MHz from Gunung Ledang and Pahang FM 95.5MHz from Bukit Sulai are interfering each other in Temerloh and Chenor, but Asyik FM 95.6MHz is stronger than Pahang FM 95.5MHz actually.

In conclusion, technically Melaka FM becomes bonus RTM radio station in Temerloh and Chenor, Pahang.

==Melaka FM 102.3MHz and Asyik FM 95.6MHz radio reception videos in Chenor and Temerloh, Pahang==

1. Temerloh (122km from Gunung Ledang)

2. Chenor (125km from Gunung Ledang)

Putrajaya is my very first ever location in Malaysia to tune Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz from Indonesia (Rokan Hilir, Riau Province)

Recently I noticed that Rokan Hilir based Indonesia radio station Diva Nusantara changed its frequency from FM 101.7MHz to FM 101.1MHz, so it makes me to feel interested to receive the signal of Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz in Tanjung Sepat, Morib and Bagan Lalang, Selangor, Malaysia.

While I'm predicting that Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz can be likely received in Tanjung Sepat and Morib, Selangor, Malaysia, I also try to tune this frequency in Puchong and Putrajaya.

Today is Awal Muharram holiday in Malaysia, so I also still work actually, but after working hours, I drive to Putrajaya for DVB-T2 television signal check. During my way from Puchong to Putrajaya, I also check the signal on FM 101.1MHz.

Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz has little signal in Puchong areas on LDP highway, then signal is completely disappeared after Bukit Puchong when I drive to SKVE highway.

Before entering Presint 1, Putrajaya via SKVE highway, FM 101.1MHz is the distant radio signal of MY FM from Bukit Pelindung (Kuantan), then the signal becomes Indonesia radio station after entering the flyover.

When I reach Putrajaya, I can detect Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz weakly from Bagansiapiapi, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia, but I can't record the video because I'm at the big roundabout. So, I go to the vicinity of Putra Mosque near Presint 2 for DVB-T2 signal check.

Before stopping the car at Presint 2, I continue monitoring Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz signal within the vicinity of Putra Mosque, but it is very hard to be tuned. So, I give up of it first and proceed to check DVB-T2 signal via portable TV receiver.

After doing DVB-T2 signal check, I depart to home, but I still continue to monitor the signal of Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz near Prime Minister Office in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

I drive slowly from Putra Mosque to Prime Minister Office, then I detect a good signal of Radio Diva Nusantara at a parking. After that, I stop my car and record the video.

I have captured the signal of Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz from Indonesia in Putrajaya, Malaysia by recording a video with 105 seconds duration.

The signal is very weak, but inconsistently clear during the video recording. I tune this frequency by using car radio.

As today, Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz from Bagansiapiapi, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia becomes the furthest radio station tuned in Putrajaya, Malaysia with a distance 132km. It is also the only Indonesia radio station that I can detect weakly in Putrajaya.

In addition, Putrajaya becomes my very first location in Malaysia to tune Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz from Indonesia.

Next, I will check this Indonesia radio station signal in Morib and Tanjung Sepat, Selangor in July 2025.

==Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz reception in Putrajaya, Malaysia==

* Frequency: FM 101.1MHz

* Power: 1.6kW

* Transmitter site: Bagansiapiapi, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia

* Receiving site: Presint 1, Putrajaya, Malaysia

* Distance: 132km

Radio Diva Nusantara in Rokan Hilir, Riau Province, Indonesia changed its frequency again from FM 101.7MHz to FM 101.1MHz.

3 years ago, Rokan Hilir based Indonesia radio station, Radio Diva Nusantara changed its frequency from FM 100.3MHz to FM 101.7MHz, however in 2025, this radio station changed the frequency again from FM 101.7MHz to FM 101.1MHz.

I have just seen the frequency change of Radio Diva Nusantara through Facebook where the radio station publishes its studio picture with the frequency.

As June 2025, Radio Diva Nusantara broadcasts on FM 101.1MHz in Rokan Hilir, Riau Province, Indonesia, the studio photo with the frequency FM 101.7MHz was no longer used in 2025.

Formerly it was on FM 100.3MHz, then FM 101.7MHz, and now it is on FM 101.1MHz.

Malaysia radio stations from Gunung Ulu Kali transmitter can be received loudly and clearly in Rokan Hilir, Riau Province, Indonesia. On 17th November 2020, there was a video of tuning Malaysia radio stations in Rokan Hilir, Radio Diva Nusantara was on FM 100.3MHz at that time. Before moving to FM 101.7MHz in February 2022, MY FM 101.8MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali was loud and clear in Rokan Hilir.

Radio Diva Nusantara changes its frequency to FM 101.1MHz by not using FM 101.7MHz anymore since 2025 because its former frequency FM 101.7MHz was interfered by MY FM 101.8MHz from Malaysia within Rokan Hilir regency. Hence, this radio station is allowed by KOMINFO to change the frequency to 101.1MHz to avoid the inteference from MY FM 101.8MHz.

The frequency allocation of Radio Diva Nusantara on FM 101.1MHz in Rokan Hilir, Riau, Indonesia is good enough because it has 200kHz frequency separation with RTM Selangor FM 100.9MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali transmitter, so it won't be interfered by Malaysia radio station within the coverage due to larger frequency separation.

==RF analysis of Radio Diva Nusantara FM 100.3MHz (2016-2022)==

100.1MHz: Traxx FM Gunung Ulu Kali (Malaysia)

100.3MHz: Radio Diva Nusantara Rokan Hilir

<200kHz, OK>

100.3MHz: Radio Diva Nusantara Rokan Hilir

100.5MHz: Radio KLA FM Dumai

<200kHz, NOT OK>

==RF analysis of Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.7MHz (2022-2025)==

101.7MHz: Radio Diva Nusantara Rokan Hilir (Indonesia)

101.8MHz: MY FM Gunung Ulu Kali (Malaysia)

<100kHz, NOT OK, interference within Rokan Hilir>

==RF analysis of Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz (2025-present)==

100.8MHz: Radio Hit FM Dumai

101.1MHz: Radio Diva Nusantara Rokan Hilir

<300kHz, OK>

100.9MHz: RTM Selangor FM Gunung Ulu Kali

101.1MHz: Radio Diva Nusantara Rokan Hilir

<200kHz, OK>

Comparing both RF analysis above, FM 101.1MHz transmission in Rokan Hilir, Riau Province, Indonesia is better than FM 101.7MHz and FM 100.3MHz because Radio Diva Nusantara is no longer interfered by Malaysia radio station due to wider frequency separation.

==Timeline of Radio Diva Nusantara frequency==

* FM 100.3MHz: 2016-2022

* FM 101.7MHz: 2022-2025

* FM 101.1MHz: 2025-present

Is DVB-T2 radio stations suitable for outdoor listening?

In certain countries, some digital terrestrial television providers offer radio broadcasting services on DVB-T2 platform.

Although DVB-T2 is primarily for television broadcast, but some the radio stations are launched on DVB-T2 platform.

In Malaysia, the digital terrestrial television provider MYTV has radio broadcasting service on DVB-T2 platform.

MYTV has 14 radio stations on DVB-T2 platform, such as:

* RTM Radio Klasik

* RTM Nasional FM

* RTM Sarawak FM

* RTM Sabah FM

* RTM Traxx FM

* RTM Ai FM

* RTM Minnal FM

* RTM Asyik FM

* RTM Wai FM (Iban + Lun Bawang + Kayan + Kenyah)

* RTM Sabah VFM

* Bernama Radio

* Molek FM

* Hot FM

* Kool 101

MYTV radio channel availability on DVB-T2 platform can by-pass the limitation of frequency coverage transmission for certain radio channels.

When radio broadcasting service is available on DVB-T2 platform, this makes the radio listeners more convenient because they can listen to their favorite radio stations on TV, but is DVB-T2 radio stations suitable for outdoor listening (example: listen in the car)?

I try to listen to RTM Sarawak FM on MYTV CH709 via DVB-T2 by using Leadstar D7 portable TV with installing a portable TV antenna on the car rooftop, then connect the portable TV to the car stereo AUX port by using AUX cable. The signal is average when I listen at the stationary position while car stops, but I cannot tune to DVB-T2 radio stations anymore when I start to drive.

Based on my listening experience, although if I tune to DVB-T2 radio stations near the transmitter tower while I'm driving, but the signal is unstable when I move at slower speed, then it is disappeared at higher speed.

DVB-T2 radio station has no signal anymore when I drive at a speed more than 30km/h. Although MYTV Bukit Sungai Besi transmitter tower is very near to Bukit Jalil and Seri Kembangan, but I cannot receive a stable signal when I'm driving.

This is because:

1. DVB-T2 broadcasts on UHF frequency band between 470MHz-698MHz, the band is higher than VHF and FM, so its coverage will be smaller than FM and VHF transmission.

2. In Malaysia, most of the MYTV DVB-T2 transmitter ERP (Effective Radiated Power) is less than 10kW, so the coverage is smaller and MYTV DVB-T2 reception stability is low.

3. DVB-T2 on UHF band is mainly used for digital terrestrial television broadcast, meanwhile it is not for radio broadcasting service, but radio stations transmission on DVB-T2 is only for indoor with stationary condition.

==Characteristics of DVB-T2 radio stations for outdoor listening==

1. DVB-T2 radio stations signal is zero when car moves at higher speed.

2. Maximum speed of DVB-T2 signal when car is moving: 25km/h

3. During traffic jam with the speed between 10-25km/h, DVB-T2 signal becomes available, but unstable reception. The signal is only totally stable when car is fully stopped.

==Conclusion==

1. DVB-T2 radio stations are not suitable for outdoor listening such as tune in the car or listen while walking.

2. To tune a radio in the car or outdoor, it is strongly recommended to tune via FM radio or online streaming (mobile app). Radio via online streaming is more stable than DVB-T2 platform.

Due to growing of advanced car infotainment head unit (IHU) which allows internet connectivity, DVB-T2 radio and DAB+ are not important anymore.

DVB-T2 radio is only suitable to be tuned at the home, office, restaurants and workplace where are indoor.

Sporadic-E FM radio stations tuned in Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia by Sarawut DXers on 22nd June 2025

22nd June 2025 was a Sporadic-E radio season in Malaysia. I received 2 China radio stations in Balakong, Selangor from Hainan Province such as CNR-1 FM 95.5MHz and International Tourism Radio FM 107.2MHz, meanwhile Sporadic E radio stations also happened in Langkawi, Malaysia on the same day.

The Langkawi radio DXer, named Sarawut DXers had tuned 7 FM radio stations from Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar via Sporadic-E propagation on 22nd June 2025 in Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia.

==MYANMAR==

* Myanmar Radio FM 87.6MHz from Yangon

- Distance: 1217km

* Thazin FM 88.6MHz from Mandalay

- Distance: 1757km

* Myanmar Radio FM 89.2MHz from Tawkon

- Distance: 1574km

==LAOS==

* Laos National Radio FM 100.7MHz from Champasak

- Distance: 1174km

==VIETNAM==

* FM 94.2MHz (unknown station)

* Voice of Ho Chi Minh City Radio 1 FM 87.7MHz & Radio 3 FM 99.9MHz

- Distance: 911km

Among all Sporadic E FM radio stations in Langkawi, Myanmar Radio FM 89.2MHz was the clearest and its RDS PS text was appeared on the radio receiver's display, meanwhile Thazin Radio FM 88.6MHz was the weakest Sporadic E radio station in Langkawi.

All Vietnam Sporadic E radio station are clear in Langkawi, but Laos National Radio FM 100.7MHz had weaker signal.

Radio Hit FM 100.8MHz from Dumai, Indonesia received in Pantai, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia

Today on 22nd June 2025, I go to Pantai, Negeri Sembilan to have a lunch with family at a specialized restaurant, named Man Yun (漫雲).

Man Yun restaurant is located at Kampung Berembun in Pantai, Negeri Sembilan. To visit this restaurant, a reservation is needed, meanwhile walk-in is not accepted. This restaurant in Kampung Berembun, Pantai, Negeri Sembilan serves Japanese cuisine actually, I order Omu Rice set menu with salmon fish.

When I reach Man Yun restaurant at Kampung Berembun in Pantai, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, I take the opportunity to search any distant radio stations signal, however I successfully tune Radio Hit FM from Dumai, Indonesia on the frequency 100.8MHz.

Back to March 2022, I had captured two Pekanbaru transmitted Indonesia radio stations (RRI Pekanbaru Pro-1 FM 99.1MHz and Smart FM 101.8MHz) in Pantai, Negeri Sembilan when I drove to Kuala Klawang.

Radio Hit FM from Dumai, Indonesia was formerly known as Radio KLA, the frequency was formerly on FM 100.5MHz, but it changed to FM 100.8MHz since 2023.

Radio Hit FM changed its frequency from 100.5MHz to 100.8MHz because it had already caused interference to the coverage of MY FM 100.6MHz Gunung Telapak Buruk transmitter in between Pantai and Jelebu. From Pantai to Kuala Klawang, MY FM 100.6MHz Gunung Telapak Buruk transmitter was interfered by Radio Hit FM 100.5MHz (Dumai, Indonesia) before Jeram Toi, the interference happened obviously during tropospheric propagation. Radio Hit FM 100.8MHz is better than 100.5MHz actually because:

1. Hit FM is interfered by RTM Ai FM 100.4MHz Gunung Ledang transmitter in Dumai, Indonesia anymore.

2. MY FM 100.6MHz is not interfered by Hit FM anymore in Pantai and Jeram Toi, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.

Although Radio Hit FM 100.8MHz in Dumai, Indonesia has 100kHz frequency separation with RTM Selangor FM 100.9MHz Gunung Ulu Kali transmitter, the interference between both station is minimal, or else doesn't exist.

At Kampung Berembun in Pantai, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, Radio Hit FM 100.8MHz can be tuned weakly with the interference noise from MY FM 100.6MHz (Gunung Telapak Buruk) and RTM Selangor FM 100.9MHz (Gunung Ulu Kali).

I record the signal video in the car before entering the restaurant for lunch, but the signal is disappeared again after finishing my lunch when I go back home. Hence, Radio Hit FM 100.8MHz from Dumai, Indonesia in Pantai, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia is classified as tropospheric propagation radio station.

Meanwhile RRI Pekanbaru PRO-1 FM 93.0MHz from Dumai is not receivable there because it operates at low power transmitter (0.1kW).

* Station name: Radio Hit FM Indonesia

* Frequency: FM 100.8MHz

* Transmitter power: (unknown)

* Transmitter site: Dumai, Riau Province, Indonesia

* Receiving site: Kampung Berembun, 71770 Pantai, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia

* Distance: 142km

* Propagation: Tropospheric

China FM radio stations signal received in Malaysia at very first time (Sporadic E propagation)

3 years ago, I was used to receive 3 Thailand FM radio stations in Balakong, Selangor, Malaysia via Sporadic E propagation.

Today on 22nd June 2025, Sporadic E radio propagation happens again in Peninsular Malaysia.

I tune 2 China radio stations from Hainan Province at the first time in Balakong, Selangor, Malaysia on the frequencies FM 95.5MHz and FM 107.2MHz.

Alongside these China radio stations, I also receive Thailand Parliament Radio FM 87.5MHz again from Bangkok.

1. FM 95.5MHz: China National Radio CNR-1 from Sanya City, Hainan Province (1895km)

2. FM 107.2MHz: Hainan International Tourism Radio from Wuzhi Mountain, Hainan Province (1968km)

These China radio stations are operating at 3kW transmitter power.

China National Radio CNR-1 FM 95.5MHz and Hainan International Tourism Radio FM 107.2MHz signal are loud with static signal in Balakong, Selangor, Malaysia.

Mild interference noise from Melody FM 107.3MHz Gunung Ledang transmitter when I tune FM 107.2MHz from Hainan, China, meanwhile adjacent channel interference noise from RTM Nasional FM Gunung Ulu Kali transmitter can be detected mildly for FM 95.5MHz.

In terms of consistency, China National Radio CNR-1 FM 95.5MHz is stronger than Hainan International Tourism Radio FM 107.2MHz in Balakong, Selangor, Malaysia.

Videos are recorded between 1555 hours and 1610 hours (UTC+8).

Hainan International Tourism Radio FM 107.2MHz from Wuzhi Mountain becomes furthest FM radio station that I tune in Balakong, Selangor, Malaysia today with the distance 1968km.

Thailand FM radio stations tuned in Perlis, Malaysia

Perlis is a northernmost state located in Peninsular Malaysia, it is bordered with Kedah and Thailand. As Perlis state is located beside Thailand, so Thailand radio stations can be received in Perlis easily.

On 25th November 2024, I managed to record Thailand FM radio stations signal videos in 4 locations of Perlis state such as:

1. Arau

* Radio Thailand Satun FM 95.5MHz (35km from Khao Khuan Khan)

* Radio Thailand Yala FM 92.0/94.25MHz (124km from Khao Pok Yo)

* R-Radio Network Satun FM 105.0MHz (30km from Satun Technical College)

2. Kangar

* Radio Thailand Songkhla FM 90.5MHz (77km from Khao Kho Hong)

* Radio Thailand Satun FM 95.5MHz (29km from Khao Khuan Khan)

* Radio Thailand Yala FM 92.0MHz/94.25MHz (132km from Khao Pok Yo)

* MCOT Trang FM 106.25MHz (142km)

* PSU Radio Pattani FM 107.25MHz (125km from PSU University Pattani Campus)

3. Padang Besar

* Radio Thailand Satun FM 95.5MHz (33km from Khao Khuan Khan)

* Radio Thailand Songkhla FM 89.5MHz (45km from Khao Kho Hong)

* Radio Thailand Yala FM 92.0MHz/94.25MHz (123km from Khao Pok Yo)

4. Beseri

* 94FM Club Hatyai (61km)

Radio Thailand Songkhla FM 90.5MHz is clear elsewhere in Perlis, but Radio Thailand Satun FM 95.5MHz and Radio Thailand Yala FM 92.0MHz/94.25MHz signal are not so clear.

Padang Besar is the only clearest location to receive Radio Thailand Yala FM 92.0MHz, compare to Arau and Kangar.

Radio Thailand Yala FM 92.0MHz is stronger than 94.25MHz in Perlis because 92.0MHz operates at 10kW transmitter power in Khao Pok Yo, meanwhile 94.25MHz is just only 1kW.

From Kangar to Padang Besar, Mutiara FM 93.9MHz and 94FM Club Hatyai has interference each other in Beseri, Perlis.

In Kangar, MCOT Trang FM 106.25MHz can be tuned moderately, but PSU Radio FM 107.25MHz from Pattani signal is detected there, causing Kool 101 FM 107.3MHz from Alor Setar Tower has interference with this Thailand radio station in Kangar.

Alongside these radio stations, MCOT Satun FM 93.25MHz, Thailand Parliament Radio Station FM 103.25MHz (Songkhla), Army Radio TP4 FM 107.75MHz (Songkhla), Easy FM 90.0MHz Satun, and AP Sound Radio (Sadao) are receivable in Perlis, Malaysia.

Co-channel interference with Kristal FM 90.7MHz from Brunei in Kimanis, Sabah? RTM Traxx FM can be tuned alternatively via 105.3MHz from Layang-Layang or 99.1MHz from Bukit Tampalagus.

RTM Traxx FM and Brunei's Kristal FM are using same frequency on 90.7MHz to target different coverage.

Traxx FM 90.7MHz from Lawa Mandau mainly covers Kota Kinabalu and West Coast Division of Sabah, meanwhile Kristal FM 90.7MHz covers Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei, however Traxx FM 90.7MHz has co-channel interference with Kristal FM 90.7MHz in Kimanis, Sabah.

Alternatively, RTM Traxx FM can be tuned on 105.3MHz from Layang-Layang or 99.1MHz from Bukit Tampalagus in Kimanis, Sabah when 90.7MHz is interfered by Kristal FM.
