List of radio stations which changed frequency in Malaysia

Here are the radio stations in Malaysia which had changed frequency due to certain reasons

1. Sinar FM Bukit Trig (104.6MHz to 106.9MHz)
Since 2014
Reason: 100kHz interference with Sabah FM from Layang-Layang (Mount Kinabalu)

2. Traxx FM Bukit Penara/Bukit Genting (90.1MHz to 88.5MHz)
Since October 2012
Reason: Frequency was occupied by Pi Mai FM on 90.2MHz in Bukit Penara (now Kool FM)

3. Fly FM Kedah (87.7MHz to 99.1MHz)
Since 2007
Reason: May have 200kHz interference to Langkawi FM 87.5MHz Kuah from Gunung Jerai, or frequency was being reserved for One FM.

4. IKIM FM Gunung Pulai (107.9MHz to 106.2MHz)
Since 2002
Reason: suspect co-channel interference with Batam radio 107.9MHz

5. Manis FM Kota Bahru (88.7MHz to 90.6MHz)
Since: 2003
Reason: (unknown)

Reason: 200kHz interference with Radio Thailand Yala 92.0MHz and 100kHz with Muzik FM 91.7MHz Bukit Besar

10. Radio 3 Negeri FM Gunung Telapak Burok (92.5MHz to 92.6MHz)
Since: unknown
Reason: suspect 200kHz interference by Minnal FM 92.3MHz KL Tower within coverage area

11. IKIM FM Kuching (93.6MHz to 93.7MHz)
Since: April 2016
Reason: IKIM FM changed its transmission service provider from CELCOM to TM.

12. Xfresh FM Gunung Ulu Kali (92.0MHz to 105.4MHz to 103.0MHz)
Since: Within 2004
*1st Reason: FM 92.0MHz has 100kHz interference with Ai FM 92.1MHz Gunung Kledang, and 300kHz interference to Minnal FM 92.3MHz KL Tower.
*2nd reason: FM 105.4MHz has 300kHz interference with Lite FM 105.7MHz Gunung Ulu Kali

Reason: One FM 90.9MHz Gunung Telapak Burok has 200kHz interference with Putra FM 90.7MHz in South Klang Valley
Note: One FM 90.9MHz Gunung Telapak Burok was only for trial transmission while Bukit Gan 88.3MHz was being recovered

The analysis above are roughly speculated. Changing frequency is not an easy job to do as it involves many things such as costs and transmission equipment. Before occupy a frequency, please do a proper spectrum planning to prevent any clashing with other radio station. Changing a radio frequency is very costly and expensive.
