Indonesia FM radio stations received in Penang, Malaysia!

When I was in Penang few years ago, alongside local radio stations, I received several Thailand radio stations via FM frequencies, from Betong, Yala, Satun, Trang and Songkhla.

Surprisingly someone received Indonesia FM radio stations in Penang. Videos are recorded by Senn Lens in Bayan Lepas.

These Indonesia radio stations are from Medan City, signal captured in Penang, Malaysia through tropospheric propagation.

 

Here are the Indonesia radio stations received in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

* Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Medan PRO-1 FM 94.3MHz (265km)

* Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Medan PRO-2 FM 92.4MHz (265km)

* Radio Suara Medan FM 94.7MHz (266km)

* Radio Mutiara Kartika FM 100.3MHz (266km)

* A-Radio Medan FM 103.8MHz (258km)

* Radio Maria Medan FM 104.2MHz (260km)

 

Among all received Indonesia radio stations, RRI Medan PRO-2 FM 92.4MHz and Radio Maria FM 104.2MHz are the clearest in Bayan Lepas, Penang. Although Radio Maria FM 104.2MHz is receivable in Bayan Lepas, but interference from Perak FM 104.1MHz Bukit Larut is minimal because Perak FM operates at low power transmission as much 250W to cover Northwest Perak only, so Radio Maria FM 104.2MHz from Medan, Indonesia easily overspill to Penang during tropospheric propagation.

 

RRI Medan PRO-1 FM 94.3MHz is having interference from 988 FM 94.5MHz Bukit Penara transmitter.

 

Radio Mutiara Kartika FM 100.3MHz is having interference from MY FM 100.2MHz Bukit Larut transmitter. 

 

Suara Medan FM 94.7MHz is weak in Bayan Lepas.
