Frekuensi: FM 107.5MHz
Kuasa: 2kW
Tempat pemancar: Sungai Siput (U), Perak
Kawasan liputan: Sungai Siput (U), Chemor dan Ulu Kinta, Perak
Koordinasi: 4°49'11.5"N 101°03'59.8"E

107.5MHz: Asyik FM Sungai Siput (U)
<0kHz, OK>

==Jarak minima frekuensi FM pemancar Sungai Siput (U)==
- Bukit Larut: 400kHz
- Bukit Ladang Teh: 300kHz
- Gunung Kledang: 400kHz
- Gunung Brinchang: 200kHz
- Changkat Rembian: 100kHz
- Gunung Ulu Kali: 0kHz

Frekuensi: FM 93.9MHz
Kuasa: 2kW
Tempat pemancar: Mempelam Sari, Gerik, Perak.
Kawasan liputan: Gerik, Intan dan sebahagian kawasan Pengkalan Hulu

==Analisa RF==

93.6MHz: Hitz Bukit Larut
93.9MHz: Asyik FM Mempelam Sari, Gerik
<300kHz, OK>

93.8MHz: Sinar FM Bukit Panau
93.9MHz: Asyik FM Mempelam Sari, Gerik
<100kHz, OK>

93.9MHz: Asyik FM Mempelam Sari, Gerik
93.9MHz: Mutiara FM Gunung Jerai
<0kHz, OK>

102.5MHz: Asyik FM Gunung Ulu Kali
102.7MHz: IKIM FM Gunung Kledang
<200kHz, OK>

Frekuensi: FM 107.7MHz
Kuasa: 2kW
Tempat pemancaran: Changkat Rembian, Tapah, Perak
Kawasan liputan: Tapah, Bidor, Sungkai, Langkap, Kampung Gajah, Chenderiang, dan Temoh.

Is BFM 89.9 available via radio in outside of Malaysia?

BFM 89.9MHz is Malaysia English business radio station in Malaysia. About of its coverage via radio frequency, BFM 89.9MHz covers Klang Valley, South Perak, West Pahang, and parts of Negeri Sembilan, Melaka as well as some Johor areas.

For other areas, BFM already made application of Penang frequency in the past, but rejected by regulator due to unavailable frequency. Therefore, BFM launched its mobile app to provide alternative to listeners who stay outside of Klang Valley. In 2017, BFM also launched mobile app on Apple Car Play platform.

It is common to heard that BFM 89.9 can be listened around the world by using mobile applications and online streaming, but it is uncommon to heard that BFM 89.9 is available outside of Malaysia via radio frequency.

In neighboring countries like Singapore, Brunei and South Thailand, we still can receive Malaysia radio stations when leave the Malaysia border due to overspilled signal, but we may not know that BFM 89.9 is accessible in Indonesia through the radio receiver.

Let me to explain and analyze. Although Indonesia is not main market for BFM 89.9 as it is Malaysia business radio station, but actually BFM 89.9 is available in Indonesia via terrestrial radio. BFM 89.9 actually is transmitted from Gunung Ulu Kali, due to its high peak transmitter sites. BFM 89.9MHz is not only available in Klang Valley, Central-South Perak, parts of Negeri Sembilan, parts of Melaka and small Johor areas, but it can overspill the signal to Indonesia territories such as Dumai, Rupat, Bengkalis, Medan, Tanjung Balai, Tebing Tinggi, Bagansiapiapi and Berkey.

Coincidentally, BFM 89.9MHz enters Indonesian market. Jokingly say that Indonesians can learn business matters and know the headlines from Malaysia by listening BFM 89.9 via radio.

Internationally, BFM 89.9MHz is available in parts of Indonesia territory via terrestrial radio such as:

- Dumai
- Rupat
- Bengkalis
- Medan
- Tanjung Balai
- Tebing Tinggi
- Bagansiapiapi
- Berkey.

What if TV9 rebrands to Tamil general entertainment TV station (fiction): Upin & Ipin in Tamil

General entertainment TV station features variety of programs. News, movies, drama, reality shows, documentaries, cartoons, women, lifestyle, comedies and game shows are combined.

TV9 was used to air many cartoon in the past, including its famous Upin & Ipin. Here is the situation if TV9 rebranded as Tamil version of TV3. I just make a fiction by mentioning the reaction of viewer regarding Upin & Ipin in Tamil language.

==Situation==

An Indian kid, names Muthu turns on TV9 (Onbathu TV) to watch his favorite local cartoon Upin & Ipin. Previously he was used to watch original Malay version of Upin & Ipin, BUT he begins surprised and shocked after this.

Muthu: Eihh! What! How comes Upin & Ipin can speak my Tamil language ya? So perfect!!!!  Daddy, please come to living room and you see this.

Daddy: Wow! I'm also surprised too. This is the first time that I know those cartoons are available in Tamil language on free-to-air TV in Malaysia. Previously, during my childhood era, most of animations are either in original languages, or dubbed in Malay/Chinese. Actually, your favorite cartoon Upin & Ipin is dubbed in Tamil, the initiative is to target Indian and Tamil speaking viewers market. Because the big boss of the TV wants to capture Indians market, plus ntv7 is already modern Malay channel, so TV9 becomes "Onbahtu TV" to target us.

Muthu: Good move actually. At least we have another choice to watch our Tamil programs on TV, alongside with Astro and Nam TV. For radio, we already have Raaga and Minnal.

My suggestion on TV9 branding after ntv7 repositioned as Modern Malay channel

TV9 is a free-to-air channel operated by Media Prima to target traditional and rural Malays since 2006. Previously, it was Channel 9, operated by Time Highway Radio THR FM company (Anaza Sdn Bhd), launched in 2003.

Channel 9 airs multi-language programmes all the time, based on THR FM multilingual slots in 2001.

- Gegar: Malay
- Raaga/Hindi Power: Tamil
- Treats: English
Chinese

In 2004-05, Channel 9 was used to air many Tamil programmes to target Indian community. During transmission ends hours, Channel 9 was relaying THR FM. Before daytime transmission starts, Channel 9 played Tamil songs.

After Media Prima acquired Channel 9, it rebranded as TV9 to target Malays and kids. Most of TV9 afternoon programmes were cartoon segment, Nick di 9, aired Nickelodeon cartoons, but dubbed in Malay language. Besides that, TV9 also aired some Indonesian Sinetrons.

Since March 2018, following by rebranding of ntv7, TV9 has no more interesting shows. Its famous talk shows, Nasi Lemak Kopi'O was ended since 4th March 2018 and "given way" to CJ Wow Shop.
From 8am till 5pm daily, TV9 airs CJ Wow Shop shopping program.

From my view, there is bad move of TV9 seriously, Media Prima actually will launch 24 hours shopping television channel CJ Wow Shop TV standalone. It may not increase audience shares of TV9 with 9 hours CJ Wow Shop slot. Therefore, TV9 left nothing interesting programs anymore since March 2018.

Currently Media Prima already captures Chinese, Malay and English market, just only Indian market is absence.

What is the direction of TV9? I will share my opinion.

Following ntv7 brand reposition, I think TV9 shall be repositioned its branding. Because there is lack of Tamil free-to-air television station for Malaysia Indians, so TV9 shall be rebranded as Tamil language majority TV station.

If TV9 becomes Tamil majority TV station, I think its logo and name could be replaced. Known as Onbhatu TV (ஒன்பது TV), onpatu means "nine" in Tamil language. This can allow competition against Astro Vannavil and Singapore Vasantham TV. Forget about CJ Wow Shop, actually Onbhatu TV (TV9) can airs Kollywood, Bollywood, Hindustan, Tamil news and local Tamil programs to target Indian audience in Malaysia.

The suggestion of rebranding TV9 as Tamil TV station (Onbhatu TV) can provide another choice of Indian audience in Malaysia. At the same time, there is another upcoming Tamil channel, known as Nam TV, but it is unknown that when will Nam TV on air via DVB-T2 digital channel.

==My suggestion of TV9 rebranding== (Onbhatu TV)

12.30pm-1pm: Tamil noon news
1pm-2pm: Tamil documentaries
2pm-3pm: Tamil game shows
3pm-4pm: Tamil talk shows
4pm-5pm: Tamil entertainment programs

6pm-8pm: Tamil and Malayam drama
8pm-8.30pm: Tamil news
8.30pm-9.30pm: Tamil drama (modern)
9.30pm-12.30am: Kollywood/Bollywood/Hindustan movies
12.30am-2.30am: CJ Wow Shop Tamil

=Weekends=
6am-9am: Rerun programs
9am-12.30pm: Cartoons (dubbed in Tamil, rerun of TV9 cartoons)
12.30pm-1pm: Tamil news
1pm-4pm: Bollywood movies
4pm-7pm: Kollywood movies
7pm-8pm: Tamil lifestyle & culture program
8pm-8.30pm: Tamil news
8.30pm-11.30pm: Hindustan movie
11.30pm-12.30am: Tamil entertainment program
12.30am-2.30am: CJ Wow Shop Tamil

Onbahtu TV, Itayattiṟku arukil (ஒன்பதுTV, இதயத்திற்கு அருகில்)
Format: Kids, drama, movies, news, lifestyle and game shows in Tamil

==MPTN channels==
TV3: 24 hours Malay general TV station
NTV7: Modern Malay TV station, with English, Turkish and Korean programmes
8TV: 24 hours Chinese general TV station with Korean and Thai programmes
Drama Sangat: 24 hours Malay drama TV station (under trial transmission)
CJ Wow Shop: 24 hours shopping TV station (under trial transmission)
Onbahtu TV (TV9): Tamil TV station (Tamil version of TV3)

After rebranding of ntv7, will this give impact to TV9?

Recently ntv7 had done repositioning of its branding since 5th March 2018 to target modern Malay audience, its Chinese programmes are transferred to 8TV, but Mandarin news and Hong Kong TVB Drama on ntv7 are remained.

In my opinion, ntv7 rebranding could be positive or negative at the same time. Since 8TV has no more English programmes, ntv7 can relaunch with English dramas. In addition, ntv7 can gain more Malay and English viewers at the same time. In addition, ntv7 also airs Korean programmes such as Project 101, Running Man and I Can See Your Voice. This also can give impact to TV9.

ntv7 transferred Chinese programmes to 8TV will allow 8TV to play 100% Chinese content without other language programmes with exception of Korean, Japanese and Thai which are parts of Chinese viewers' favorite.

Formerly TV9 had Korean programmes block known as "Saranghae di TV9", to air Korean drama without dubbing any languages. Now, TV9 had stopped all Korean programmes, instead rerun most of the old programs. From my view, ntv7 already killed TV9 partially.

ntv7 was used to air CJ Wow Shop shopping block from 6am till 1pm daily. After its rebranding, duration of CJ Wow Shop on ntv7 is reduced to 3 hours daily, from 10.30am till 1.30pm. Meanwhile TV9 CJ Wow Shop extends its duration hours to 9 hours daily after ending of Nasi Lemak Kopi'O.

TV9 is likely in dangerous situation because of CJ Wow Shop which is disliked by many viewers.

Next, I will share about my suggestion of TV9 rebranding.

Bukit Gasing FM radio coverage (if FM broadcast infrastructure is available)

TM Bukit Gasing tower

In Klang Valley,  there are no available FM radio frequencies where can be used in main transmitter sites now, such as Gunung Ulu Kali, Bukit Sungai Besi and Kuala Lumpur Tower.

Previously I had mentioned that RTM added pocket filling transmitter in Fraser Hill for Nasional FM Raub and Lipis areas on FM 106.2MHz last month. In addition, I found there is another tower which likely intended to cover Klang Valley, it is Bukit Gasing. In Klang Valley, FM 91.9MHz and FM 99.7MHz are likely suitable to be intended by locating transmitter in Bukit Gasing.

Here are the coverage of Bukit Gasing:

==RF analysis of Bukit Gasing 91.9/99.7MHz==

a. FM 91.9MHz
91.5MHz: IKIM FM Gunung Ulu Kali
91.9MHz: Bukit Gasing
<400kHz, OK>

91.7MHz: Nasional FM Gunung Telapak Burok
91.9MHz: Bukit Gasing
<200kHz, OK>

91.9MHz: Bukit Gasing
92.0MHz: Nasional FM Hulu Langat
<100kHz, critical>

91.9MHz: Bukit Gasing
92.3MHz: Minnal FM KL Tower
<400kHz, OK>

b. FM 99.7MHz
99.3MHz: Raaga Gunung Ulu Kali
99.7MHz: Bukit Gasing
<400kHz, OK>

99.5MHz: Hot FM Gunung Telapak Burok
99.7MHz: Bukit Gasing
<200kHz, OK>

99.7MHz: Bukit Gasing
99.8MHz: Selangor FM Hulu Langat
<100kHz, critical>

99.7MHz: Bukit Gasing
100.1MHz: Traxx FM Gunung Ulu Kali
<400kHz, OK>

Based on both frequencies analysis above, 91.9 and 99.7 have 100kHz separation with RTM 92.0 and 99.8MHz Hulu Langat frequencies. Nasional FM 92.0MHz and Selangor FM 99.8MHz are gap filler frequencies which intend to cover only Hulu Langat, meanwhile Bukit Gasing coverage did not reach Hulu Langat, but there may have interference between Bukit Gasing and Hulu Langat around Cheras, Balakong, and Kajang.

Interference will be gone if Bukit Gasing antenna did not beam to southeast direction much in order to get protection.

In conclusion, FM 91.9MHz and FM 99.7MHz are not suitable to be used as high power transmitter site in Bukit Gasing because they can interfere Hulu Langat stations. Besides that, FM 91.9MHz and FM 99.7MHz are only suitable for lower power repeater stations to cover Klang Valley. Maximum power 0.5kW is allowed.

City Plus FM currently operates on 106.0MHz from Gunung Telapak Burok to cover Negeri Sembilan and Klang Valley, but reception is not clear at all in majority of Klang Valley areas. In my opinion, a low power repeater can be added in Bukit Gasing to provide better reception in Klang Valley areas such as Petaling Jaya, Puchong, Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Kepong, Setapak, Gombak and Ampang, but transmission fee is expensive if add a repeater. Therefore, I don't think it is worth to add repeater station in Bukit Gasing for City Plus FM, instead suggest to increase power to 3.5kW and install high quality filtering devices from Telapak Burok on 106.0MHz.

Selangor FM launches additional frequency 99.8MHz

Selangor FM is RTM state radio station for Selangor, it broadcasts the information for Selangor state. Selangor FM broadcasts 100.9MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali for Selangor, it can be received in Kuala Lumpur, South Perak, West Pahang (Raub, Bentong and Karak only), and parts of Negeri Sembilan/Melaka.

Recently there is additional frequency of Selangor FM on 99.8MHz. According to them, Selangor FM 99.8MHz is mainly covering Hulu Langat areas where cannot receive FM 100.9MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali clearly as Hulu Langat is topographic and hilly area.

Same goes to Nasional FM, there is additional frequency on FM 92.0MHz. It is actually for Hulu Langat also. I was informed that Hulu Langat cannot receive Gunung Ulu Kali, Gunung Telapak Burok and Kuala Lumpur Tower signal clearly, so a gap filler transmitter is needed.

Actually some of South Selangor areas may not receive Gunung Ulu Kali radio signal clearly, normally these areas can receive Gunung Telapak Burok radio clearly. Since Selangor FM has no Gunung Telapak Burok frequency as it targets Selangor only, so I may believe that FM 99.8MHz from Hulu Langat does not only cover Hulu Langat itself, also with some blind spot areas:

- Cheras Batu 9
- Sungai Long hilly areas
- Bandar Teknologi Kajang
- Kajang Prison road

I received this radio station signal since 09.01.2018 in Balakong, Selangor (my home actually), reception is ok. Before Selangor FM operates a gap filler transmitter for Hulu Langat on 99.8, I could receive THR Raaga FM 99.7MHz from Gunung Ledang in my area, reception was ok. Since Selangor FM operates 99.8 for Hulu Langat, THR Raaga 99.7 is clashed by this radio station at my home. In addition, Selangor FM 99.8MHz also is clashed by THR Raaga 99.7 Gunung Ledang, but not serious.

99.7MHz: THR Raaga Gunung Ledang
99.8MHz: Selangor FM Hulu Langat

List of Nasional FM transmitters in Pahang

Here are the transmitter lists of Nasional FM in Pahang.

==Main transmitters==
- Gunung Ulu Kali: FM 95.3MHz (Bentong, Temerloh, Kemayan, Karak, Lanchang and Mentakab; also for Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and South Perak)
- Bukit Pelindung: FM 107.1MHz (Kuantan and Pekan; also for Kemayan Terengganu)

==Gap filler transmitters (low power)=
- Bukit Istana: FM 93.5MHz (Jerantut)
- Bukit Senggora: FM 91.2MHz (Maran, Chenor, Chini and Jengka)
- Bukit Sulai: FM 88.3MHz (Gambang and Sri Jaya)
- Bukit Botak: FM 89.4MHz (Damak)
- Kampung Bantal Seberang: FM 89.3MHz (Ulu Tembeling & Taman Negara)
- Gunung Brinchang: FM 93.1MHz (Cameron Highlands)
- Bukit Fraser: FM 106.2MHz (Raub and Lipis)**
- Kuala Rompin: <not available>

**New gap filler transmitter, launched recently due to Raub areas cannot receive 95.3MHz Gunung Ulu Kali clearly, rural area Sungai Koyan cannot receive 95.3MHz technically.

Nasional FM has no Bukit Sembilan frequency as Muadzam Shah, Bukit Ibam and Keratong can receive the station either from Gunung Ledang on FM 96.6MHz or Gunung Telapak Burok on FM 91.7MHz.

FM 91.7MHz Gunung Telapak Burok also covers Bera district areas such as Bandar Bera and Teriang, also Manchis Pahang (nearby Jelebu Negeri Sembilan).

CONFIRMED: Nasional FM added frequency 106.2MHz in Fraser Hill for Raub, Pahang

After performed FM radio reception test in Lanchang Pahang by detecting Nasional FM 106.2MHz signal, I suspected four possible transmission sites on that frequency. Lanchang, Mentakab, Karak or Fraser Hill?

Today, I began to make reception test of FM 106.2MHz around Klang Valley areas like Puchong, Kuala Lumpur (Bukit Jalil) and Seri Kembangan, I received Nasional FM 106.2MHz signal, but it is very weak.

In Klang Valley, the best reception site is Gunung Ulu Kali. After I have done the findings of the investigation, I find that Nasional FM 106.2MHz is transmitted from Bukit Fraser (Fraser Hill) with 0.5kW power.

For Pahang areas, Nasional FM 95.3MHz Gunung Ulu Kali is actually for Bentong, Karak, Lanchang, Lurah Bilut, Mentakab, Temerloh and Kemayan. It also can be received in Raub, and Lipis, but not all of the areas can't receive Gunung Ulu Kali signal clearly, even no signal due to covered by hills. Actually Raub and Lipis are considered as topographic areas, same with Jerantut and Balik Pulau Penang.

In order to have better reception for these affected areas (Raub and Lipis), RTM added a gap filler transmitter for Nasional FM in Fraser Hill on FM 106.2MHz technically, but generally because 14th Malaysia general election is coming, I also could think that RTM added Nasional FM 106.2MHz in Fraser Hill for likely government propaganda tools as Nasional FM is RTM main radio station, formerly Nasional FM was merged into Klasik FM, became Klasik Nasional.

Klasik Nasional was formerly RTM prime radio station, infotainment radio with Malay classic songs, also with propaganda. Hehehehhe! XD

After demerger of Klasik Nasional, Muzik FM frequencies were taken over by Nasional FM since 2012 during Tan Sri Dato' Seri Utama Dr. Rais bin Yatim era (former Information, Communications, Culture Minister). Nasional FM became RTM prime radio station after 6 years hiatus.

==Basic technical information of Nasional FM Raub frequency==
Frequency: FM 106.2MHz
Power: 0.5kW (estimated)
Transmission site: Bukit Fraser, Pahang
Coverage areas: Raub and Lipis, Pahang

List of radio stations with 300kHz separation each other within same coverage in Malaysia

Here are the radio stations run 300kHz frequency separation in same transmitter site, also within same coverage.

1. Gunung Kledang
87.6MHz: One FM
87.9MHz: Fly FM

2. Bukit Penara
89.9MHz: Fly FM
90.2MHz: Kool FM

3. Gunung Ulu Kali
103.0MHz: Melody FM
103.3MHz: Era

4. Gunung Pulai
101.1MHz: Minnal FM
101.4MHz: Suria FM

5. Johor Bahru and Singapore
98.4MHz: Melody FM Gunung Pulai
98.7MHz: 987FM Singapore Bukit Batok

These radio stations actually installed best quality high pass filter to reduce unwanted signal (interference).

For City Plus FM, actually it uses Gunung Telapak Burok on FM 106.0MHz to mainly cover Klang Valley as result there is no empty frequency in Gunung Ulu Kali. So, the reception of City Plus FM 106.0MHz is not clear in Klang Valley. In order to get better and clearer reception in Klang Valley, City Plus FM may be suggested to increase power to 3.5kW, but due to 300kHz separation with Lite FM 105.7MHz Gunung Ulu Kali, so high pass filter is required for both stations to reduce interference/unwanted signal.

105.7MHz: Lite FM Gunung Ulu Kali
106.0MHz: City Plus FM Gunung Telapak Burok 3.5kW (originally for Seremban, but mainly for Klang Valley)
<300kHz>

Nasional FM additional frequency 106.2MHz in West Pahang (Lanchang)

Today is 31th December 2017, it is the last day of 2017. I had a half day trip in Pahang just morning today, my destination for today morning trip is Lanchang, Pahang to visit Elephant Conservation Park.

From Kuala Lumpur to Pahang, we listen to radio station by tuning frequencies from Gunung Ulu Kali due to its wide coverage. Actually Gunung Ulu Kali can cover many Pahang areas because it is the highest elevation mountain in central Malaysia.

For Nasional FM, its frequency in West Pahang normally is FM 95.3MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali. Nasional FM 95.3MHz does not only cover Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and South Perak, it covers West Pahang also such as Bentong, Raub, Kuala Lipis, Karak, Lanchang, Bera, Temerloh and Chenor. When I reached Lanchang in the morning, Nasional FM 95.3MHz is still clear there, even 91.7MHz from Gunung Telapak Burok is receivable, just its reception is not clear as 95.3MHz, but I suddenly receive Nasional FM on another frequency, FM 106.2MHz, just closed with City Plus FM 106.0MHz Gunung Telapak Burok which is still receivable there.

FM 106.2MHz reception is clear in Lanchang and Karak when tune via car radio with STEREO form, but reception is not really stable and clear as 95.3MHz if use mobile phone radio, even no signal. In addition, FM 106.2MHz shows unstable stereo reception if receive via advance radio receiver, TECSUN PL-380, sometime it would jump to MONO reception.

I was very curious of Nasional FM additional frequency 106.2MHz in Lanchang and Karak. Seriously I did not know where is FM 106.2MHz transmitted from, plus I also want to know what are the covered areas of FM 106.2MHz.

Talking about its reception, FM 106.2MHz is not really clear in Kuala Gandah elephant conservation park as 95.3MHz. In Karak, FM 106.2MHz is still receivable, reception is still on par. Meanwhile FM 106.2MHz signal goes off when starts to enter Bentong area border.

==Technical information of Nasional FM 106.2MHz==
* Power: unknown, but roughly 0.25kW as RTM gap filler transmitters now are running at least 0.25kW, but mostly 0.5kW.
* Transmitter location: Unknown (but suspect within Lanchang or Karak)
* Targeted location: Unknown (but may target those West Pahang areas where can't receive Gunung Ulu Kali signal clearly)

I hope I could verify the TX site of FM 106.2MHz as soon as possible.

When Nasional FM is using FM 106.2MHz, City Plus FM cannot change its frequency to 106.1MHz or 106.2MHz and locate in Gunung Ulu Kali. This can cause interference to Nasional FM 106.2MHz coverage, but Nasional FM can be received on 95.3MHz.

Perak FM South Perak frequency changing suggestion and review

RTM Perak FM has two transmitters to cover South Perak where 95.6MHz Gunung Kledang reception is not clear, mainly FM 97.3MHz from Changkat Rembian and FM 89.6MHz Bukit Asa.

FM 97.3MHz Changkat Rembian for Tapah, Bidor, Chenderiang, Sungkai and Temoh. FM 89.6MHz from Bukit Asa for Tanjung Malim and Slim River.

Current FM 89.6MHz Bukit Asa covers Tanjung Malim and Slim River with low power transmission, but it is too close with BFM 89.9MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali.

FM 89.6MHz: Perak FM Bukit Asa
FM 89.9MHz: BFM 89.9 Gunung Ulu Kali
<300kHz, NOT OK>

FM 89.6MHz: Perak FM Bukit Asa
FM 89.7MHz: Ai FM Gunung Telapak Burok
<100kHz, OK>

In my opinion, there are no vacant frequencies for Ipoh by using Gunung Kledang. In order to free up a frequency for Ipoh new radio station, RTM Perak FM shall change its Bukit Asa frequency from 89.6MHz to other frequency. Talking about the frequency change, I would suggest FM 107.1MHz.

Besides that, in order to improve better reception of Perak FM in Tanjung Malim and other South Perak areas without using Gunung Ulu Kali. Perak FM shall use at least 1kW power to cover there.

==My suggested parameter for Perak FM Tanjung Malim frequency==
Frequency: FM 107.1MHz
Power: 1kW
Transmitter Site: Bukit Asa, Selangor.
Coverage areas: Tanjung Malim, Slim River, Terolak, and Behrang. Also accessible in Hulu Selangor areas such as Kuala Kubu Bharu, Kerling, Batang Kali, Serendah, Bukit Beruntung and Lembah Beringin.

==RF analysis of Perak FM Tanjung Malim frequency 107.1MHz==

Foreign TV broadcaster launches TV stations in Malaysia, is it illegal on DVB-T2?

In many countries, including Malaysia, there are a lot of foreign broadcasters launch their TV stations. There are legal when a foreign broadcaster such as MTV, Sony TV, Fox TV to launch their TV station via pay TV or satellite TV. As satellite TV or cable TV company is holding Content Applications Service Provider (CASP) license.

What if a foreign broadcaster company launches its TV station on digital terrestrial television in Malaysia, basically foreign broadcaster is prohibited to launch TV station on Malaysia terrestrial television, regardless analog or digital due to broadcast regulations by MCMC.

To launch foreign TV station in Malaysia, the broadcaster shall joint venture with local company. I give an example, if China Central Television CCTV wants to launch their selected stations in Malaysia via DVB-T2 digital terrestrial television as free-to-air TV, CCTV cannot directly launch their stations in Malaysia because of:

- Original version of CCTV advertisements may not fit local requirements.
- Not all CCTV channels can be broadcasted in Malaysia due to copyright infringement, such as CCTV-6 (Movies), CCTV-8 (Drama), CCTV-15 (Music).

If CCTV wants to launch its channel in Malaysia, CCTV shall joint venture with Malaysia broadcasters. Therefore, both can get profit, but with the joint venture exercise, Malaysia broadcasters only manage to relay CCTV, just CCTV advertisements will be replaced by local ones. For the operation costs, CCTV needs to pay the fees to Malaysia local broadcaster, then local broadcasters pay the transmission to MYTV.

CCTV>Malaysia broadcaster company>MYTV>TM

If CCTV directly broadcast CCTV-13 news channel in Malaysia without JV, some of product advertisement on CCTV-13 may not be available in Malaysia markets. For example, Haval H6 commercial on CCTV-13. Haval H6 is a mid-size SUV, where is not available in Malaysia market. If CCTV-13 advertises Haval H6 SUV on Malaysia DTTV, one of viewer says that Haval H6 looks nice, he decides to buy Haval H6 in Malaysia, but problem is Haval Malaysia authorized sales dealer Go Auto never sells H6 in Malaysia. So, he is not able to buy his favorite H6..Next, where will he buy? Impossible a Malaysia viewer goes to China to buy Haval H6 and bring back to Malaysia after watching the advertisement on CCTV-13 in Malaysia, because Haval H6 is left hand drive car.

It is important to censor all foreign advertisements of foreign channel when launches in a country. This can avoid misleading to the viewers. For example, CCTV-4 on Astro CH334, its China advertisements are replaced by local advertisement.

Another example, Asia Television Limited (ATV) was closed down of its free-to-air channel in Hong Kong since April 2016, but ATV returns to broadcast via OTT (Over The Top) platform, it will become pay TV after April 2018. At the same time, ATV joint venture with Green Packet Berhad. Moreover, ATV and Green Packet Berhad will collaborate to launch three free-to-air terrestrial stations in Malaysia, such as Chinese shopping channel, Chinese general entertainment channel and Chinese movie channel.

Actually ATV cannot launch on Malaysia DTTV as ATV is not Malaysia broadcaster. So, ATV shall joint venture with Malaysia company in order to reach Malaysia viewers.

Suggestion of 988 closes down Penang frequency 94.5MHz

In Penang, 988 FM can be received on FM 94.5MHz from Bukit Penara, FM 96.1MHz from Gunung Jerai and FM 101.0MHz Bukit Larut.

988 FM 101.0MHz Bukit Larut actually for North Perak, but it can be received in South Penang.

Normally Penang can receive radio station signal clearly on Gunung Jerai frequency. MY FM, Melody FM and One FM are transmitted from Gunung Jerai. Actually 988 operated two frequencies for Penang since 1996, but FM 96.1MHz Gunung Jerai is basically for Kedah and Perlis. Then, 988 has Penang frequency in Bukit Penara on 94.5MHz.

Since 988 can be received in Penang clearly and loudly via FM 96.1MHz from Gunung Jerai, in my opinion, 988 can close down its Penang frequency 94.5MHz. My suggestion to abolish 988 Penang frequency 94.5 may help 988 to save transmission costs, even it can free up the frequency. Therefore, new player can use 94.5 in Bukit Penara when reach Penang.

Following my suggestion of City Plus FM Penang frequency by using Bukit Larut 93.1MHz frequency previously, although Penang still can receive Bukit Larut signal, but it may not be perfect much. If 988 abolishes Penang frequency 94.5MHz and return the frequency to MCMC, I may think that City Plus FM or BFM can use 94.5MHz in Penang.

Same goes to Astro THR Raaga which has two frequencies where can be received in Penang, 102.4MHz Gunung Jerai and 99.3MHz Bukit Penara. Seriously the reception of THR Raaga 102.4MHz is very clear in Penang, actually 99.3MHz should be closed down in Penang.

[Singapore DXing]: The day after Lush PART2: What music that Money FM 89.3MHz shall play?

Lush FM 99.5MHz was death since 1st September 2017, no independent music radio station by Singapore, but 938NOW is playing independent music partially to "pay respect" of Lush FM 99.5MHz.

After the death of Lush FM 99.5MHz, Singapore will have two new radio stations on January 2018, but they are under Singapore Press Holdings (SPH).

- 96.3 Hao 好FM: Singapore Chinese senior-oriented radio station
- Money FM 89.3MHz: Singapore's first English business radio station

Currently Singapore Press Holdings SPH operates 3 radio stations, there are:

1. One FM 91.3MHz: Playing English classic hits and mainstream rock songs (to answer Gold FM 90.5MHz)

2. UFM 100.3MHz: Singapore hot contemporary Chinese radio station (to answer YES 933)

3. Kiss FM 92.0MHz: Playing English adult contemporary hits and mainstream songs from 1980s till now (to answer Class 95, 987FM, and Malaysia's Mix FM/Hitz FM/Fly FM)

938NOW plays independent music partially with mainstream music like 987 and Class 95, meanwhile 987FM plays hot mainstream hits... So, where are independent music going again?

In my opinion, Money FM 89.3MHz is a business radio station, also covering topics of current affairs, documentaries and entrepreneurs to target PMEBs (Professionals, Managers, Executives, and Businessmen/Businesswomen). About its music playlist which aired on non-talk programming hours, plus Lush FM was death, I suggest and hope Money FM 89.3MHz will play Singaporean indie music like what Lush FM did to support local independent artists.

Since Kiss 92 plays mainstream music, One FM 91.3 plays classic hits and rock, so Money FM shall feature independent music to keep distance away from mainstream music. This can give another alternative to listeners, plus this can support Singaporean local independent music industry.

Lush FM 99.5MHz was killed by MediaCorp and its elements are merged into 938NOW partially. What I hope is 938NOW and Money FM 89.3MHz will continue the spirit of Lush 99.5FM.

Anyway, waiting for the launching of Money FM. We wish them good luck! Have a nice day always. Support Money FM 89.3MHz features Singaporean local independent music during non-talk programming hours.

What if One FM Johor Bahru frequency 105.3MHz is transmitted from Gunung Pulai?

One FM Johor Bahru frequency was launched on November 2011 on FM 105.3MHz. It is transmitted from TM Taman Sentosa, Johor Bahru.

Due to no empty frequency is available in Gunung Pulai, one FM is awarded on 105.3MHz in Taman Sentosa, Johor Bahru.

In Johor, FM 105.3MHz is not only used for Johor Bahru by one FM, but 105.3MHz is also used by RTM Johor FM for North Johor areas from Gunung Ledang. 6 years ago, I was thinking if One FM 105.3MHz is transmitted from Gunung Pulai.

Actually RTM Johor FM used 105.3MHz in Gunung Ledang since 1980s for North Johor areas. If one FM uses 105.3MHz in Gunung Pulai, this will create co-channel interference between Johor FM and One FM in Central Johor such as Batu Pahat, Kluang, Yong Peng, even Pagoh may receive CCI. I was making inquiry with RTM broadcast engineers regarding this issue if happen, I was told that there was no problem when one FM 105.3MHz uses in Gunung Pulai if one FM never beams 105.3MHz Gunung Pulai signal to north direction.

"If one FM 105.3 and Johor FM 105.3 are interfering each other in affected areas (notably Central Johor), Johor FM listeners can tune to 101.9MHz from Gunung Pulai, meanwhile One FM listeners can tune to 88.1MHz from Gunung Ledang.", said RTM. (2012)

Since there is excellent feedback, I also think no problem as One FM and Johor FM have alternative frequency. This reflects me about Minnal FM Gunung Kledang 98.9MHz and 988 FM Gunung Ulu Kali 98.8MHz in South Perak.

"Minnal FM 98.9MHz and 988 FM 98.8MHz are clashing each other in South Perak. 988 FM listeners can tune to FM 99.8MHz from Gunung Kledang, meanwhile Minnal FM listeners can tune either 96.3MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali or 107.9MHz Bukit Larut in affected areas."

But when comes to MCMC, I think if I proposed Gunung Pulai on FM 105.3MHz, I strongly believe that the suggestion will be rejected by MCMC as it does not comply with the minimum frequency separation which set up by MCMC. Gunung Ledang and Gunung Pulai must be separated their frequencies at least 200kHz.

If One FM 105.3MHz is transmitted from Gunung Pulai for JB and beam signal to south direction only, basically Johor Bahru and Singapore can get better reception, but there may create co-channel interference to Radio Canggai Putri FM 105.3MHz coverage in Karimun Island, Indonesia. Marina Bay of Singapore may receive co-channel interference on FM 105.3MHz.

==RF analysis==

105.3MHz: one FM Gunung Pulai (Johor Bahru only by beaming south direction)
105.3MHz: Johor FM Gunung Ledang (North Johor only)
<0kHz, not recommended>

105.1MHz: RRI Batam Pro-1
105.3MHz: one FM Gunung Pulai (Johor Bahru only by beaming south direction)
<200kHz, OK>

105.3MHz: one FM Gunung Pulai (Johor Bahru only by beaming south direction)
105.5MHz: RRI Batam Pro-2
<200kHz, OK>

104.9MHz: Ai FM Gunung Pulai
105.3MHz: one FM Gunung Pulai (Johor Bahru only by beaming south direction)
<400kHz, OK>

105.3MHz: one FM Gunung Pulai (Johor Bahru only by beaming south direction)
105.7MHz: Nasional FM Gunung Pulai
<400kHz, OK>

105.3MHz: one FM Gunung Pulai (Johor Bahru only by beaming south direction)
105.3MHz: Radio Canggai Putri from Karimun Indonesia
<0kHz, NOT OK. Co-channel interference>

In conclusion, because Radio Canggai Putri is using FM 105.3MHz in Karimun which cause Singapore can receive the radio station with weaker reception. I don't think one FM can use 105.3MHz in Gunung Pulai, even it has co-channel interference with Johor FM 105.3MHz from Gunung Ledang. Therefore, 105.3MHz is better to be transmitted from current TM Taman Sentosa tower for Johor Bahru.

==Minimum frequency separation of Gunung Pulai with other surrounding Tx sites==
- Singapore: 0.4MHz
- Batam Indonesia: 0.2MHz
- Karimun Indonesia: 0.2MHz
- Gunung Ledang: 0.2MHz
- Bukit Tinggi: 0.2MHz
- Gunung Telapak Burok: 0.1MHz
- Bukit Tampin: 0.1MHz
- Taman Sentosa: 0.4MHz
- Sedilli: 0.3MHz
