Voice of Vietnam (VOV) DXing in Malaysia via shortwave and mediumwave

Voice of Vietnam (VOV) is public broadcaster, owned by Vietnam government. It owns 11 radio stations and 2 television stations.

VOV-1/2/3/4/5/6, VOV English 24/7, VOV GT Hanoi, VOV GT HCM (Ho Chi Minh), VOV Mekong FM, VOV FM 89.

Selected Voice of Vietnam (VOV) radio stations can be received in Malaysia through MW and SW frequecies.

Voice of Vietnam World Service (VOV-5) can be tuned in Malaysia via shortwave frequencies loudly and clearly (English and Indonesian language):
1. SW 9840kHz
2. SW 12020kHz

Time: 1800-1900 hours, 2030-2130 hours, 2230-2330 hours and 0700-0800 hours (UTC+8)

Note: VOV-5 SW 9840kHz cannot be received in selected locations within Malaysia clearly due to interference from RTM Sarawak FM SW 9835kHz from RTM Kajang, but VOV-5 can be tuned clearly and loudly on SW 12020kHz.

Apart VOV-5, three of Voice of Vietnam domestic radio stations can be tuned in Malaysia via MW frequencies during nighttime.

* VOV-1 (General): 711kHz
* VOV-2 (Culture and Social): 783kHz
* VOV-4 (Ethnicity): 873kHz

The transmission power of each listed MW station is 500kW, and transmission site is located in Can Tho, Vietnam.

Note that Voice of Vietnam VOV-5 MW 1242kHz from Can Tho, Vietnam may be no longer operational.

All the videos above are received in Balakong, Malaysia (20km from Kuala Lumpur), the distance from Can Tho is 898km, meanwhile from Hanoi is 2061km.

I believe Voice of Vietnam MW radio stations from Can Tho can be received easily in Malaysia East Coast even louder and clearer such as Kota Bharu, Tumpat, Kuala Besut, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun, Kemaman, Kuantan, Bachok, Beserah, Balok, Cherating, and Pengkalan Chepa, regardless daytime or nighttime transmission because there is no any terrains or blocks between these areas and Vietnam.
