“Eight無限” FM 88.1MHz在霹靂州安順 (Teluk Intan) 和實兆遠 (Sitiawan)的線路還挺清晰的,但如果聽眾使用便宜的收音機來收聽,他們會聽到頻率干擾因為Eight無限88.1被兩家怡保電台 (Fly FM 87.9MHz和RTM Radio Klasik FM 88.3MHz) “圍攻”。
以下是“Eight無限” FM 88.1MHz在霹靂州安順和實兆遠的接收訊號短片。
1. Sitiawan 實兆遠
2. Teluk Intan
On the Valentine's Day, 14th February 2026, the Sabah radio DXer, Kisah Alkisah made a shocking radio reception in Tamparuli, Sabah by tuning Gunung Pulai and Bukit Tinggi transmitter Johor radio stations.
He tuned 5 Johor radio stations, 4 were from Gunung Pulai, and 1 was from Bukit Tinggi.
Tamparuli is a town located in Tuaran District, West Coast Division, Sabah, it is 40km from Kota Kinabalu.
1. Hot FM 90.1MHz (1497km from Gunung Pulai)
2. 988 FM 99.9MHz (1497km from Gunung Pulai)
3. RTM Minnal FM 101.1MHz (1497km from Gunung Pulai)
4. Suria FM 101.4MHz (1497km from Gunung Pulai)
5. RTM Johor FM 92.1MHz (1461km from Bukit Tinggi)
These radio stations were Sporadic E propagation as the signals were disappeared soon and they were not available all the time in Tamparuli, Sabah.
Hot FM 90.1MHz and Minnal FM 101.1MHz were loud and clear in Tamparuli, Sabah, but Hot FM 90.1MHz had appeared its RDS PS text on the radio receiver. Although Hot FM 90.1MHz is just 200kHz away from local radio station RTM Sabah FM 89.9MHz Lawa Mandau transmitter, no interference noise was detected. In Johor, RTM Radio Klasik is using 90.1MHz in Bukit Tinggi which is same frequency with Hot FM, both have co-channel interference in Kluang and Ayer Hitam, but there was no co-channel interference between Radio Klasik and Hot FM on 90.1MHz in Tamparuli, Sabah.
Suria FM 101.4MHz and 988 FM 99.9MHz were very weak in Tamparuli, Sabah, but they were audible.
RTM Johor FM 92.1MHz from Bukit Tinggi had a strong Sporadic E propagation in Tamparuli, Sabah. It was loud and clear with less weaker radio reception. Kisah Alkisah recorded the radio reception videos with 2 minutes 30 minutes duration, the ident jingle of the radio station was recorded before the news from RTM Angkasapuri. RTM Johor FM 92.1MHz was very consistent in Tamparuli, no adjacent channel interference noise of RTM Ai FM 91.9MHz from Lawa Mandau transmitter was detected during the radio reception.
Congratulations to Kisah Alkisah for catching Peninsular Malaysia transmitted radio stations in Tamparuli, Sabah at the first time, but through Sporadic E propagation.
Starting from January 2026, Tea FM's Kota Kinabalu frequency 102.8MHz is not included in its frequency list on Facebook and Instagram pages.
On Tea FM's Facebook and Instagram pages, Tea FM only mentiones two frequencies with 102.7MHz in Kuching and 100.7MHz in Sibu where both are in Sarawak.
In my opinion, it is ok if Tea FM broadcasts without Kota Kinabalu frequency nowadays because Kota Kinabalu is no longer the target market of this radio station. Tea FM is based in Kuching, Sarawak, and most of its content is related to Sarawak, so it is not functioning in Sabah.
Tea FM doesn't deliver any content related with Sabah. It doesn't have listeners in Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, Papar and Kota Belud. So, it is a wise move of Tea FM to switch off its frequency 102.8MHz in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Now Tea FM 102.8MHz is a silent radio transmission in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
In terms of frequency assignment, it is not good to use 102.8MHz in Kota Kinabalu due to 100kHz frequency separation from RTM Sabah VFM 102.9MHz Bukit Tampalagus transmitter.
Bukit Karatong frequency should be separated at 200kHz from Bukit Tampalagus, instead of 100kHz.
It is better to strengthen Tea FM in Sarawak, not Sabah anymore.
By switching off the frequency transmission in Kota Kinabalu, actually Tea FM can expand coverage by setting up frequency in Miri because Miri is the second largest city in Sarawak after Kuching.
Today I realize that CityPlus FM 106.0MHz is no longer in broadcast operation, I tune to FM 106.0MHz in Puchong and Seri Kembangan where I could listen formerly, but no signal anymore.
Then, I raise inquiry to CityPlus FM via official Facebook page privately regarding the dead air of its frequency 106.0MHz. I'm told by CityPlus FM that the frequency 106.0MHz is no longer available anymore, but online streaming broadcast continues until April 2026.
CityPlus FM will deliver its content via social media after this. So, CityPlus will be no longer as a radio station, but digital content media in the near future.
The broadcast license holder of CityPlus FM, OOGA X Sdn Bhd has surrendered the frequency to MCMC.
Now the frequency is vacated in South Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.
In my opinion, as OOGA X was used to collaborate with Media Prima Audio, I hope Media Prima Audio will take over this frequency from CityPlus FM for Kool FM in Seremban, but subject to MCMC's approval.
If Kool FM launches Seremban frequency by taking over 106.0MHz from CityPlus, Kool FM can instantly crack down the co-channel interference on 88.1MHz in Negeri Sembilan, Northwest Melaka and part of Pahang.
By launching Kool FM in Seremban on 106.0MHz from Gunung Telapak Buruk, Kool FM can reach part of Pahang at the first time since March 2016.
In addition, Pahang listeners in Bera, Temerloh, Jerantut, Chenor and Muadzam Shah can tune Kool FM 106.0MHz if it happens.
At my side, I don't need to struggle in the RF analysis of FM 102.0MHz Gunung Telapak Buruk radio transmission which doesn't guarantee of MCMC's approval due to 100kHz frequency separation with Johor FM 101.9MHz Gunung Pulai transmitter which can cause interference in Central Johor. Besides that, if MCMC allows Kool FM to use 106.0MHz in Seremban, I don't even need to visit Central Johor for radio signal check by comparing between Gunung Pulai and Gunung Telapak Buruk radio transmission at 100kHz frequency separation anymore.
Since CityPlus FM has officially ceased its frequency transmission on 106.0MHz, I seriously hope that Media Prima Audio can request the frequency from MCMC for Kool FM in Negeri Sembilan, therefore Kool FM can reach entirely in West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia from Kedah to Johor without any gap.
On 31st January 2026, someone managed to tune 3 RTM radio stations from Bukit Mas, Limbang in Kundasang, Sabah.
Cock DXer received RTM Sarawak FM 101.5MHz, Red FM 104.1MHz and Limbang FM 104.9MHz in Kundasang, Sabah with a distance 221km from Bukit Mas transmitter.
In Kundasang, Kota Kinabalu radio stations like Mix FM 101.6MHz, MY FM 104.0MHz and Sinar FM 104.9MHz were already overlapped by these Limbang transmitted Sarawak radio stations, causing interference.
Generally Kundasang cannot receive any radio signal from Bukit Mas, but these radio stations can be received there due to signal reflection from Bukit Mas to Mount Kinabalu, results overspill signal in Kundasang.
Here is the signal videos of Bukit Mas transmitted RTM local radio stations in Kundasang, Sabah.
1. Sarawak FM 101.5MHz
2. Red FM 104.1MHz
3. Limbang FM 104.9MHz
Based on the videos, Sarawak FM 101.5MHz, Red FM 104.9MHz and Limbang FM 104.9MHz were loud and clear in Kundasang, Sabah.
Congratulations to Cock DXer for successfully tuning Sarawak FM 101.5MHz, Red FM 104.1MHz and Limbang FM 104.9MHz in Kundasang, Sabah.
Dear all shortwave radio listeners around the world, here is the broadcast schedule of RTM Sabah VFM on SW 15295kHz, currently it is under test transmission.
As today on 3rd February 2026, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) is conducting trial transmission of shortwave radio broadcast in Kajang, Selangor on the frequencies SW 15295kHz and 11885kHz.
I have managed to record its signal videos in Balakong where is not far from RTM Kajang, signal is clear on SW 15295kHz, but SW 11885kHz has slightly co-channel interference with China National Radio CNR-1.
SW 15295kHz currently broadcasts Sabah VFM, meanwhile SW 11885kHz carries Nasional FM program.
Both frequencies are test transmission currently, RTM has not decided that which radio stations should be on shortwave broadcast yet.
In my opinion, RTM should launch Wai FM Bidayuh/Radio Kayan on shortwave frequency and MYTV, so this allows Talidio Kenyah to have full broadcast airtime for 3 hours on shortwave frequency and MYTV without interfering airtime with Radio Kayan, then its listeners in rural areas don't need to access via online where internet coverage is limited.
15295kHz should be Wai FM Bidayuh/Radio Kayan. Although Bidayuh people are majority living in Kuching and Serian where FM coverage is available, but my suggestion is targeting Kayan people in rural areas where have no FM radio coverage. Wai FM Bidayuh can be either part time or full time broadcast on shortwave frequency, but to me, Radio Kayan is more important.
11885kHz can be used by Wai FM Iban + Lun Bawang + Talidio Kenyah.
It is not necessary to launch shortwave frequency for Nasional FM because this radio station has a complete coverage with many gap filler FM transmitters nationwide, unless RTM wants to close down those inconvenient gap filler transmitters of Nasional FM.
If RTM launches these two shortwave frequencies for two different Wai FM channels, here is my suggestion regarding broadcast schedule (UTC+8)
Wai FM Channel 1 on SW 11885kHz (if 24 hours broadcast)
* Iban: 0000-1200 hours
* Lun Bawang: 1200-1500 hours
* Kenyah: 1500-1800 hours
* Iban: 1800-0000 hours
Wai FM Channel 2 on SW 15295kHz (if 24 hours broadcast)
* Bidayuh: 0000-1200 hours
* Kayan: 1200-1800 hours
* Bidayuh: 1800-0000 hours
I have expressed my suggestion to RTM Kajang team, hope this suggestion comes true.
Eight WuXian (formerly known as Eight FM) had already ceased broadcast in Ipoh, Melaka and Johor Bahru on 27th October 2025, then its frequencies are now used by Kool FM.
As today, Eight WuXian (Eight無限) only broadcasts in Klang Valley on FM 88.1MHz, Penang, Taiping and Kedah on FM 87.8MHz, Seremban on FM 88.3MHz, Kota Kinabalu on FM 95.7MHz and Kuching on FM 98.3MHz.
According to my friend who is staying in Seremban, Eight WuXian on FM 88.3MHz is currently off air in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan recently. I may suspect the transmitter system of FM 88.3MHz in Bukit Gun tower is damaged as it has been running for 16 years since One FM era.
As today, Eight WuXian FM 88.3MHz in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan is not back on air yet.
In my opinion, Media Prima Audio can permanently terminate Eight WuXian radio broadcast in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan and surrender the frequency FM 88.3MHz to MCMC.
This is because the coverage of Eight WuXian FM 88.3MHz is very small as it is transmitted from Bukit Gun, meanwhile other radio stations are transmitted from Gunung Telapak Buruk. In addition, the transmission of Eight WuXian FM 88.3MHz doesn't reach many listeners.
Eight WuXian FM 88.3MHz is already weak in Senawang, Sendayan and Mambau where are within Seremban City.
Besides that, same like Kuantan, I don't think Eight WuXian has potential listeners in Seremban.
Media Prima Audio can make another option to switch Eight WuXian to Kool FM on 88.3MHz in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan if MCMC doesn't allow the radio transmission of FM 102.0MHz in Gunung Telapak Buruk.
Media Prima Audio can launch Kool FM in Seremban by taking over the frequency from Eight WuXian, at least Kool FM can gain potential listeners in Seremban, despite 88.3MHz doesn't cover entire Negeri Sembilan state.
If Media Prima Audio permanently terminates the transmission of Eight WuXian FM 88.3MHz in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Eight WuXian will remain 4 FM radio frequencies in Klang Valley, Penang, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. This can help Media Prima Audio to save transmission fees for Eight WuXian.
Seremban is not an important market of Eight WuXian, somewhat Eight WuXian is digital first Chinese radio station which mainly focuses on digital platform over conventional FM radio platform.
Alongside digital platform, it is already sufficient of Eight WuXian to focus in Klang Valley, Penang, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching on FM radio frequency platform because many listeners have already tuned to this radio station digitally nowadays.
UPDATE (as 19th January 2026 at 7.30pm): Eight WuXian FM 88.3MHz is already back on air in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan
Although RTM Selangor FM 100.9MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali mainly covers Selangor, but it can be tuned in West Pahang, Central Pahang, South Perak, part of Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka, meanwhile RTM Minnal FM is also using same frequency with Selangor FM in Bukit Bakar transmitter to cover Central Kelantan areas like Machang and Kuala Krai.
The most interesting point is Selangor FM 100.9MHz can be received in South Kelantan, but it has a strong co-channel interference with Minnal FM from Bukit Bakar.
It is very interesting when both radio stations are interfering each other on the frequency FM 100.9MHz in Kelantan and Pahang.
From 2021 to 2022, I had managed to record the co-channel interference radio signal videos of Selangor FM and Minnal FM in Pahang and Kelantan on the frequency FM 100.9MHz.
Tahukah anda?
- Frekuensi: FM 89.4MHz
- Kuasa pemancar: 0.1kW
- Tempat pemancar: Bukit Timbalai, Labuan, Malaysia
Dear all Wai FM radio listeners, as Wai FM had ceased operation on Astro CH871, so the listeners can only access via MYTV, RTM Klik or FM radio frequencies.
For rural areas like Ulu Baram, Bario etc, there are no coverage from FM radio and DVB-T2 transmitters, even internet connection is not stable at all, some of locations may have no internet coverage, leaving only 2G signal which only allows phone calls and SMS.
To access Wai FM in rural areas without Astro and MYTV terrestrial platform, I strongly suggest to tune via satellite signal with independent satellite receivers and C band parabolic dish by receiving C band signal.
MYTV DTH transmission is not recommended due to Ku band satellite, unless you don't mind of rainfade.
Here are the satellite frequencies of tuning Wai FM with local channel number.
Effective 9th January 2026, all RTM radio stations are no longer available on Astro.
RTM Wai FM ceased broadcast on Astro CH871.
This is a bad news to Sarawak's rural community, but RTM Wai FM can be tuned alternatively on MYTV CH710 and online based RTM Klik.
It is because there is a decline of radio listenership on Astro DVR platform, many people tune a radio on a mobile phone via online streaming platform (RTM Klik) over TV set-top-box platform.
Wai FM on Astro CH871 carried Iban, Lun Bawang, Kayan and Kenyah programs. Since it is no longer available on Astro, the listeners have to tune alternatively by following platform below:
1. Wai FM Iban
* RTM Klik - Wai FM Iban
* MYTV CH710 (12am to 12pm, 6pm to 12am)
* FM 101.3MHz in Kuching and part of Betong/Sri Aman Division, FM 106.9MHz in Serian (24 hours broadcast)
* Sibu FM, Sri Aman FM, Bintulu FM (12am to 9am, 12pm to 12am)
* Miri FM (12am to 9am, 12pm to 3pm, 6pm to 12am)
* Limbang FM (12am to 9am, 6pm to 12am)
2. Radio Tau (Limbang FM's Lun Bawang language program)
* RTM Klik - Limbang FM
* MYTV CH710 (12pm to 3pm)
3. Radio Kayan (Miri FM)
* RTM Klik - Wai FM Bidayuh/Kayan (12pm to 6pm)
* MYTV CH710 (3pm to 5pm)
* FM 106.1MHz in Kuching and part of Sri Aman/Betong Division, FM 106.9MHz in Serian (12pm to 6pm)
4. Talidio Kenyah (Miri FM)
* RTM Klik - Miri FM (5pm to 6pm)
* MYTV CH710 (5pm to 6pm)
* Facebook LIVE & YouTube (3pm to 6pm)
Regarding MYTV, it has no terrestrial coverage in rural areas of Sarawak, so the people need to install MYTV DTH Ku band satellite dish (Asiasat-9 at 122DEG on 11.55GHz) or C-band parabolic dish (ABS-2 at 75DEG on 3.871GHz or MEASAT-3D at 91.5DEG on 3.880GHz). To avoid rainfade, I strongly recommend to use C band parabolic dish to access Wai FM in rural areas where there have no internet connectivity or MYTV DVB-T2 coverage.
Internet can be accessed in Malaysia rural areas via Starlink, so the listeners can access Wai FM via RTM Klik and various online platform easily.
Wai FM Iban is mostly available on Sri Aman FM, Sibu FM and Bintulu FM for 21 hours, but Wai 9-12 is not available from 9am to 12pm program on local radio stations outside Kuching and Serian because they carry 3 hours Malay language program, then Wai FM Iban is not available from 6pm to 7pm on local radio stations on Ramadan month annually. As Wai FM is no longer available on Astro CH871, then shortwave frequency SW 11665kHz is temporarily unavailable due to transmitter was damaged, so the listeners outside Kuching and Serian can only tune to Wai FM Iban on affected hours via MYTV CH710 or RTM Klik, but Wai FM Iban can be tuned via distant frequency 101.3MHz from Gunung Serapi transmitter in some areas of Sri Aman Division and Betong Division, Sarawak such as Simanggang, Engkilili, Lingga, Pusa, Saratok and Roban, meanwhile it is super weak in Debak, Betong and Spaoh.
Here is the radio reception videos of Wai FM Iban in various locations of Sri Aman and Betong Division, Sarawak where Cock DXer and me recorded in 2025.
ABC Northern Tasmania is a local radio station based in Launceston, its main target coverage is the northern part of Tasmania state, however a Melbourne based radio DXer, named VKS2WL managed to tune ABC Northern Tasmania in Greater Melbourne, VIC on various FM frequencies, however these radio reception were tropospheric propagation.
1. FM 91.7MHz - Launceston (TX: Mount Barrow)
Receiving distance: Approximately 450-470km
2. FM 91.3MHz - Lileah (TX: Willis Hill)
Distance: Approximately 367km
3. FM 106.3MHz - Rosebery (TX: Mount Read)
Distance: Approximately 470km
4. FM 88.5MHz - King Island (TX: Gentle Annie)
Distance: Approximately 258km. Weak signal with adjacent channel interference from 3SCB Southern FM 88.3MHz.
Most of the videos were recorded in Westmeadows, an suburb town of Melbourne, VIC. Among all 4 frequencies, FM 91.3MHz from Lileah was the clearest, following by FM 91.7MHz from Launceston, but FM 106.3MHz from Rosebery was the weakest frequency in Melbourne.
In Melbourne City, ABC Radio is locally available by following stations below:
* Radio National AM 621kHz
* ABC Melbourne AM 774kHz
* News Radio AM 1026kHz
* Classic FM 105.9MHz
* Triple J FM 107.5MHz
During nighttime transmission after sunset, ABC Hobart AM 936kHz from Tasmania can be received in Melbourne.
In Australia, alongside online streaming platform, the TV and radio stations can be accessed through C-band satellite from MEASAT-3d and ABS-2.
People's in Australia can access these channels by installing C-band receiving satellite dish and DVB-S2X receiver with the following C-band frequencies and channels below from Lyngsat:
Malaysia's MYTV C-band TV and radio channels via ABS-2 satellite are using DVB-S2X standard which is an extended version of DVB-S2, meanwhile RTM radio stations via Measat-3D are using DVB-S2 standard.
Based on the C-band coverage, Measat-3D and ABS-2 satellite signal still can reach Australia, except Tasmania where is an island state. Hence, the Malay community in Katanning of Western Australia state and Cocos (Keeling) Islands can receive Malaysia TV and radio stations via C band satellite.
Note: Several channels may not be accessible due to encryption.
The main function of using C-band satellite transmission by RTM Malaysia via Measat-3d is to send the signal feeds from broadcasting houses (studio) to the transmitter sites, notably remote area.
