Sinar FM 96.9MHz from Gunung Kledang, Perak, Malaysia heard in North Sumatera, Indonesia

Usually I would only know the radio stations from Malaysia are available in Batam Island, Karimun and part of Bintan Island, Indonesia by tuning Johor Bahru frequency from Gunung Pulai transmitter, meanwhile Malaysia radio stations are also available in Riau province (Dumai, Rokan Hilir, Bengkalis and Pulau Meranti regencies) via Gunung Ulu Kali (for Rokan Hilir), Gunung Telapak Burok (for Dumai and Pulau Rupat), Gunung Ledang (for Bengkalis and possibly Siak).

For Sinar FM, generally it can be tuned in Batam, Karimun and part of Bintan Island via FM 87.8MHz from Gunung Pulai, meanwhile Rokan Hilir is on FM 96.7MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali, however someone received a Malaysia radio station on FM 96.9MHz in Kuala, Langkat Regency, North Sumatera province, Indonesia.

Kuala is a district located in Langkat Regency, North Sumatera province, it is located about 38km from Medan City.

The video was published by Kiprut Channel on YouTube on 4th August 2016.

By watching the video, I had identified FM 96.9MHz was actually Sinar FM from Malaysia, transmitted from Gunung Kledang (Ipoh, Perak). In west coast region of Peninsular Malaysia, only Sinar FM uses FM 96.9MHz in Gunung Kledang (Ipoh) and Gunung Telapak Burok (Seremban), meanwhile Nasional FM uses 96.9MHz in Bukit Bauk for Dungun where is located in east coast region.

The signal of Sinar FM 96.9MHz from Gunung Kledang was quite good in Kuala, Langkat Regency, North Sumatera Province, Indonesia. Generally FM 96.9MHz would have potential adjacent channel interference with local radio station (Radio Dangdut Indonesia FM 96.7MHz Medan) due to frequency separation is at 200kHz, but the interference was not detected when tuning to Sinar FM 96.9MHz in Kuala where is just 38km from Medan City as the radio receiver had good quality filtering system.

Thanks to Kiprut Channel for the good and impressive video.
