My suggestion of Buletin FM coverage expansion after it closed down Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bharu frequencies.

Media Prima Audio's Malay talk radio station Buletin FM had ceased Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bharu broadcast by closing down the transmitters there since 29th November 2021. Its former frequencies in these two locations were shifted to Hot FM in Kota Bharu and Molek FM in Kuala Terengganu.

Buletin FM Kota Bharu frequency 88.6MHz becomes Hot FM, and Hot FM original Kota Bharu frequency 105.1MHz becomes Molek FM, meanwhile its Kuala Terengganu frequency 93.6MHz becomes Molek FM.

After Buletin FM Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu frequencies closed down, it remains only with 4 frequencies such as 101.3MHz in Klang Valley (Bukit Sungai Besi), 90.2MHz in Penang (Bukit Penara), 107.3MHz in Alor Setar (Alor Setar Tower) and 104.3MHz in Kuching (Bukit Djin).

With only 4 frequencies, Buletin FM listener rating on FM radio platform will be slightly reduced, but Buletin FM can still expand its coverage in few location.

On 1st July 2019, MCMC announced that the regulatory would suspend frequency application from new broadcaster as the frequency replanning study was on going. Until July 2020, the frequency replanning study was completed. I read its 2020 annual report, MCMC stated that no any new frequencies can be assigned in Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and region which located within international coordination.

In west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, there are some vacant frequency slots which Buletin FM can still expand to, but new transmitter site, rather than traditional sites.

1. Seremban: Bukit Gun

2. Melaka: Bukit Tampin

3. Ipoh: Gunung Kledang

4. Kuantan: Bukit Pelindung

About coverage of Bukit Gun and Bukit Tampin, they're smaller than Gunung Telapak Burok and Gunung Ledang.

Based on listed coverage area above, there are few frequency slots.

1. Bukit Gun (Seremban): 90.9MHz, 91.3MHz, 99.9MHz, 101.1MHz

2. Bukit Tampin (Melaka): 87.6MHz, 89.1MHz, 103.9MHz

3. Gunung Kledang (Central Perak): 93.3MHz

4. Bukit Pelindung (Kuantan): 96.5MHz, 98.5MHz, 101.6MHz, 102.2MHz, 106.5MHz

Here are my proposal.....

1. Buletin FM Seremban frequency

- Frequency: FM 101.1MHz

- Power: 0.5kW

- Transmitter site: Bukit Gun, Negeri Sembilan

- Coverage: Seremban and surrounding areas only

100.9MHz: Selangor FM Gunung Ulu Kali

101.1MHz: Buletin FM Bukit Gun

<200kHz, OK>

101.1MHz: Buletin FM Bukit Gun

101.3MHz: Buletin FM Bukit Sungai Besi

<200kHz, OK>

101.1MHz: Buletin FM Bukit Gun

101.1MHz: Minnal FM Gunung Pulai

<0kHz, OK>

101.1MHz: Buletin FM Bukit Gun

101.5MHz: Raaga FM Gunung Telapak Burok

<400kHz, OK>

It is easy for Buletin FM's listeners who travel Seremban to Klang Valley because 101.1MHz and 101.3MHz are same radio station.

2. Buletin FM Melaka frequency

- Frequency: FM 87.6MHz

- Power: 1kW

- Transmitter site: Bukit Tampin, Negeri Sembilan

- Coverage: Melaka, Negeri Sembilan (Rembau/Tampin/Port Dickson), and Johor (part of Tangkak/Muar/Segamat)

87.6MHz: Buletin FM Bukit Tampin

87.9MHz: Radio Klasik FM Gunung Telapak Burok

<300kHz, OK>

87.6MHz: Buletin FM Bukit Tampin

87.7MHz: Radio Klasik FM Kuala Lumpur Tower

<100kHz, OK>

87.6MHz: Buletin FM Bukit Tampin

87.8MHz: Sinar FM Gunung Pulai

<200kHz, OK>

3. Buletin FM Ipoh frequency

- Frequency: FM 93.3MHz

- Power: 1kW

- Transmitter site: Gunung Kledang, Perak

- Coverage: Ipoh, Kinta, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Manjung, Perak Tengah, and part of Batang Padang/Kuala Kangsar

93.1MHz: Nasional FM Gunung Brinchang

93.3MHz: Buletin FM Gunung Kledang

<200kHz, OK>

93.3MHz: Buletin FM Gunung Kledang

93.6MHz: Hitz FM Bukit Larut

<300kHz, OK>

4. Buletin FM Kuantan frequency

- Frequency: FM 101.6MHz

- Power: 2kW

- Transmitter site: Bukit Pelindung, Pahang

- Coverage: Kuantan, Pekan, Gambang and Kemaman

101.6MHz: Buletin FM Bukit Pelindung

101.8MHz: MY FM Gunung Ulu Kali

<200kHz, OK>

101.5MHz: Raaga FM Gunung Telapak Burok

101.6MHz: Buletin FM Bukit Pelindung

<100kHz, OK>

No frequencies are available in Johor Bahru.

Apart of proposed coverage for Buletin FM, due to less listeners tune Buletin FM in Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bharu, I don't think Buletin FM will expand coverage to Kuantan because I believe Media Prima Audio will focus on Molek FM in Pahang state, instead bring Buletin FM there, unless Media Prima Audio wants to launch Molek FM and Buletin FM together in Kuantan, Pahang.

If Buletin FM expands coverage in the listed areas, the radio station will get 8 frequencies.
