It is about 8 years of OOGA X launched the Malaysia's first ever Chinese business radio station, CityPlus FM.
Back to the history, CityPlus FM carried trial transmission on 26th October 2016, and it was launched officially on 2nd May 2017, but it is transmitted from Negeri Sembilan's Gunung Telapak Buruk on the frequency FM 106.0MHz to cover Klang Valley, causing weaker radio reception in Klang Valley. In Klang Valley, CityPlus FM 106.0MHz is mostly not clear.
Until today, CityPlus FM doesn't have clearer radio transmission in Klang Valley. Why does it happen?
1. In Klang Valley, there is no longer having vacant radio frequencies for FM broadcast, regardless Gunung Ulu Kali or Bukit Sungai Besi transmitter site.
2. As now defunct Red FM from Star Radio Group terminated its Seremban frequency 106.0MHz in June 2009 (while Red FM was ceased in September 2016 after being acquired by Astro Radio), the frequency was vacated in between June 2009 and October 2016, fortunately CityPlus FM was awarded by MCMC with this frequency by taking over Red FM former Seremban frequency slot.
3. Before CityPlus FM used 106.0MHz in Gunung Telapak Buruk, MCMC had already assigned the frequency FM 106.2MHz to Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) for Nasional FM's Bukit Fraser transmission to cover Raub where is a blindspot coverage of 95.3MHz Gunung Ulu Kali transmitter. As RTM Nasional FM used 106.2MHz in Bukit Fraser transmitter site for Raub, it caused CityPlus FM was not able to use either 106.1 or 106.2 in Gunung Ulu Kali to cover Klang Valley clearer. This means Nasional FM 106.2MHz frequency assignment was earlier than CityPlus FM 106.0MHz, so nothing action can be done to improve CityPlus FM coverage in Klang Valley until today.
In between November 2016 and January 2018, I made a proposal to CityPlus FM for having clearer coverage in Klang Valley by suggesting to use FM 106.1MHz or 106.2MHz in Gunung Ulu Kali and terminate 106.0MHz Gunung Telapak Buruk transmission. During that time, I did not realize there was Nasional FM 106.2MHz Bukit Fraser transmission until December 2017. When I had a trip in Lanchang to visit the elephant farm on 31st December 2017, I only realized there was 106.2MHz used by Nasional FM when I tuned the radio randomly.
When Nasional FM used 106.2MHz in Bukit Fraser, none of radio stations are allowed to use either 106.1 or 106.2 in Gunung Ulu Kali because both are not far each other, therefore CityPlus FM was forced to cover Klang Valley by using Gunung Telapak Buruk transmitter on the frequency 106.0MHz.
Gunung Telapak Buruk mainly covers Negeri Sembilan (except Tampin), but it is receivable in part of Klang Valley, Pahang, Melaka and Johor.
Regarding CityPlus FM 106.0MHz coverage, outside Negeri Sembilan, it could be tuned moderately and weakly in Klang Valley, part of Pahang (notably Bera, Muadzam Shah, Temerloh, Chenor, Maran, Jengka and Jerantut), small part of Melaka/Johor.
