Today on 26th January 2025, I go to Teluk Intan, Perak for Chinese New Year celebration. While I plan to record RTM Asyik FM radio aircheck via MYTV digital terrestrial television platform in Ipoh by end of January 2025, I bring my Leadstar D7 portable television together.
In 2024, I brought my portable television unit to Teluk Intan, but I was not able to catch any digital terrestrial TV signal there, regardless indoor or outdoor as I couldn't find a proper position to put my indoor antenna.
In Teluk Intan, MYTV DVB-T2 digital terrestrial television is covered by Gunung Kledang transmitter. MYTV Gunung Kledang transmitters are using same frequencies as Gunung Ulu Kali, Bukit Sungai Besi, Bukit Larut and Kuala Lumpur Tower by following multiplex below:
* MUX A: UHF 666MHz (CH 45)
* MUX B: UHF 650MHz (CH43)
Despite Teluk Intan is under Gunung Kledang coverage, but MYTV digital terrestrial television reception is not stable in Teluk Intan if I use indoor antenna. This is because the distance between Gunung Kledang and Teluk Intan is about 60-65km, so the indoor portable antenna cannot receive a TV signal beyond 20km properly.
I manage to catch MYTV digital terrestrial television signal successfully in Teluk Intan, Perak with my Greentek ANT-120 wall mount basic indoor antenna. The signal is only fully stable if I position the antenna correctly and slowly.
Between MUX A and B, in Teluk Intan, MYTV MUX B channels are always stronger and more stable than MUX A. In terms of the coverage, MYTV MUX B dominates more than MUX A, therefore I can access MYTV channels better on MUX B.
It is highly recommended to install outdoor antenna (minimum requirement: 7E antenna) to receive MYTV digital terrestrial television channels under stable reception in Teluk Intan, Perak.
