From 2016 to 2024, I had been making many videos of BFM 89.9 radio signal outside Klang Valley (Kuala Lumpur and Selangor) such as Pahang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.
BFM 89.9 is an English business radio station, broadcasts mainly in Klang Valley, but it can be tuned in South Perak, West Pahang, part of Negeri Sembilan, part of Melaka and part of Johor. Technically it is not Klang Valley only radio station due to its transmission coverage.
In Pahang, BFM 89.9 from Gunung Ulu Kali can be tuned in Bentong, Temerloh, Kuala Lipis, Bera, Pekan, part of Kuantan and part of Raub, but I could capture its radio signal in Pulau Tioman on same frequency.
Yes, I tuned BFM 89.9 via frequency transmission in Pulau Tioman on 29th April 2024 by using my TECSUN PL-380 radio receiver when I spent 3 days 2 nights in that island from 28th to 30th April 2024.
Video was recorded at Kampung Tekek area, near Papaya Hotel Resort vicinity.
Pulau Tioman becomes the furthest radio station to tune BFM 89.9, beating Yong Peng and Paloh in Johor.
While Ai FM is also using FM 89.9MHz in Kuala Rompin, but RTM Kuala Rompin radio stations cannot transmit signal to Tioman Island, so there is no co-channel interference detected in Pulau Tioman.
==My impressions==
1. Pulau Tioman has become the furthest location of me tuning BFM 89.9 in my DXing history for this radio station with 271km receiving distance from Gunung Ulu Kali to Pulau Tioman.
2. Pulau Tioman is under Rompin District of Pahang, it is the first and only Rompin District location to receive BFM 89.9 via radio frequency platform, but the frequency FM 89.9MHz is RTM's Chinese radio station Ai FM when I tuned in Kuala Rompin town, while 89.9 is weak signal or co-channel inteference between Ai FM and BFM on same frequency in Muadzam Shah.
