88.2MHz from Gunung Jerai had 100kHz spacing with Klasik Nasional 88.3MHz from Gunung Kledang Ipoh, meanwhile 104.5MHz from Gunung Kledang Ipoh had 100kHz spacing with Lite FM 104.4MHz from Gunung Jerai.
In May 2011, Hot FM launched its frequency in Bukit Larut for Northern Perak on 90.5MHz. Previously I thought 90.5MHz should be reserved for Ipoh, but unexpectedly it was used in Taiping. In the past, I was not familiar with radio transmitters and frequencies in Northern region of Peninsular Malaysia. The transmitter power of Hot FM 90.5MHz in Bukit Larut is at least 1kW (equal to 1000 W). Hot FM was the first Media Prima radio station that launched transmitter for Taiping. Meanwhile its sister radio station Fly FM and one FM had to be received on 89.9MHz from Bukit Penara and 87.8MHz from Gunung Jerai in North Perak (Taiping) respectively.
Although Hot FM 90.5MHz from Bukit Larut is same frequency with Kedah FM Bukit Palong Baling where has distance 95km from Taiping, but 90.5MHz is very clear in most of Perak areas. The 90.5MHz can become an alternative frequency of 104.5MHz in Perak, alongside with 97.6MHz.
Hot FM 90.5MHz starts its co-channel interference with Kedah FM 90.5MHz from Baling in Penang Island, North Seberang Perai, Sungai Petani, and Gerik..
RDS Info: HOT FM, LEBIH HANGAT DARIPADA BIASA.
