Received Thailand radio stations in Kelantan, Malaysia, but Pattani is the furthest radio station received in Kelantan?

Kelantan is a state located northeast Peninsular Malaysia within east coast region, border with Thailand at north, Terengganu at east, Perak at west, and Pahang at south.

As it is located next to Thailand border, so people in North Kelantan are able to receive Thailand TV and radio stations easily. Kelantan is bordered to Narathiwat province of Thailand.

North Kelantan usually can receive Thailand radio stations from Narathiwat, Sungai Golok and Yala (Khao Pokyo), such as:

Apart from Narathiwat, Tak Bai, Sungai Golok and Yala (Khao Pokyo), the furthest distant Thailand radio station that can be received in North Kelantan is from Pattani.

In the videos by Senn Lens on YouTube, FM 107.25MHz is the only Pattani transmitted Thailand radio station which available in part of North Kelantan. 

FM 107.25MHz is Mor Or Mahawitthayalai Songkhla Nakharin (PSU Radio Network). English translation is Prince of Songkha University radio station. It is an education radio station operated by Prince of Songkhla University.

There are three videos of PSU Radio Network FM 107.25MHz from Pattani, Thailand received in three locations:

1. Kota Bharu (140km)
2. Pasir Mas (135km)
3. Jeli (145km)

Transmission power is 1kW.

Kelantan FM has a low power transmitter in Bukit Bintang, Besut, Terengganu on FM 107.1MHz to cover East Kelantan (Bachok), it is not only interfered by SV Sound Radio FM 107.0MHz from Tak Bai, Thailand in Kota Bharu and Tumpat, it is also interfered by PSU Radio Network FM 107.25MHz Pattani Thailand in Kota Bharu too. Although PSU Radio Network FM 107.25MHz from Pattani is receivable in North Kelantan, but it is interfered by local Fly FM 107.4MHz from Peringat which covers these locations.

Apart from PSU Radio Network FM 107.25MHz, there are none of other Pattani radio stations can be received in North Kelantan. Radio Thailand Pattani FM 101.0MHz, MCOT Pattani FM 91.0MHz and TP4 FM 93.5MHz are not receivable there.

988 FM 96.1MHz from Gunung Jerai and Melody FM 98.5MHz Gunung Kledang received at Jeli-Gerik highway

If you follow Senn Lens (Youtuber from Kelantan) Youtube channel, he received 988 FM 96.1MHz from Gunung Jerai at Jeli-Gerik highway.

According to the video, 988 FM 96.1MHz from Gunung Jerai was received at Jeli-Gerik highway before Tasik Banding while driving from Jeli to Gerik. The receiving signal quality was moderate to good, no interference found. As this highway has high elevation above sea level, so the reception is still clear.

94PFM We Love Satun from Thailand received in Penang, Malaysia (Teluk Bahang)

On 14th February 2020 (Valentine's Day), a YouTuber named Senn Lens published a radio aircheck video on YouTube by receiving 94PFM We Love Satun in Penang, Malaysia.

  

According to this video, 94PFM We Love Satun on FM 94.0MHz was received nearby Teluk Bahang, Penang, Malaysia.

94PFM We Love Satun transmitter site is located in Tirasathit Alley, Tambon Phiman, Amphoe Mueang Satun, Thailand which is 94PFM We Love Satun studio and office, instead of Khuan Khan site where is MCOT and Radio Thailand Satun site.

The receiving condition is moderate, but signal goes weak when pass through some small hills. He received in the car which is Toyota Corolla Altis E170, although 94PFM We Love Satun has 100kHz frequency separation from local Mutiara FM 93.9MHz Gunung Jerai, but according to the video, 94PFM We Love Satun had no interference from Mutiara FM 93.9MHz Gunung Jerai, I strongly believe that his Toyota Corolla Altis E170 car multimedia system is high sensitivity radio receiver which can filter the interference noise.

The distance from 94PFM We Love Satun site to Teluk Bahang, Penang, Malaysia is about 129km-130km.

Here are the Indonesia AM (MW Medium Wave) radio stations list that I received in Malaysia, receiving location is based in Balakong and Puchong, Selangor, all stations are Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI):

15 years ago, I was used to receive RRI Tanung Pinang PRO-1 on AM 1341kHz, RRI Palembang PRO-1 AM 1287kHz, RRI PRO-3 AM 999kHz from Jakarta, and RRI Padang PRO-1 AM 1179kHz in Malaysia during early morning and night transmission.

AM 1341kHz, AM 1287kHz and AM 1179kHz are possibly inactive as they might move to FM radio transmission. Radio Republik Indonesia gradually closes down AM radio transmission in Indonesia and slowly shifts to FM radio for the entire country.

In my receiving location, Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Bukittinggi PRO-1 AM 1512kHz was having co-channel interference from Thailand Air Force Radio Station AM 1512kHz from Songkhla, Thailand. I remembered when I listened to Thai songs on AM 1512kHz, I could hear Muslim prayer (Azan) on the frequency while I was in the car.

Radio Thailand Betong FM 93.0MHz received in Malaysia.

Radio Thailand Betong FM 93.0MHz, a district radio station for Betong in Yala province, Thailand, nearby Perak, Malaysia border. It does not only serve Betong listeners, it can be received in Pengkalan Hulu, Gerik and Klian Intan of Perak, Baling of Kedah too.

Previously I had received this radio station in Penang, Ipoh and Kuala Kangsar and another YouTuber named Senn Lens received this radio station in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, and Kulim of Kedah.

Although this radio station listenership within Betong district is small, but the coverage of Radio Thailand Betong FM 93.0MHz is quite wide. The first location that I received this radio station was in Penang, the receiving signal condition was not good and interfered by Hitz FM 92.8MHz Gunung Jerai which is local transmitter site for Penang.

PENGUMUMAN: Frekuensi Zayan di Taiping, Perak ialah FM 98.1MHz

Kepada pendengar Zayan yang tidak dapat mencari frekuensi di Taiping, Perak, untuk makluman, Zayan boleh diterima di Taiping, Perak pada FM 98.1MHz dari Gunung Jerai, dimana sama frekuensi dengan Alor Setar dan Pulau Pinang.

Walaupun Taiping terletak di negeri Perak, dan Ipoh adalah ibu bandar negeri Perak, tetapi Taiping tidak akan menerima Zayan pada frekuensi Ipoh FM 106.4MHz kerana isyarat Gunung Kledang terlindung oleh Gunung Bubu yang berada di Terong dan Changkat Jering. Jika kita menerima Zayan di Taiping pada FM 106.4MHz (Ipoh), kesemua isyarat adalah bunyi bersebelahan daripada Melody FM 106.5MHz Gunung Jerai.

Penerimaan siaran radio Zayan masih jelas di Taiping pada FM 98.1MHz dari Gunung Jerai, pendengar Zayan cuma tala kepada FM 98.1MHz sahaja dari Taiping sehingga Kangar.

Recently there is much of misleading information on selected Malaysia FM radio stations on Wikipedia, especially frequencies list section. I was informed by my friends about that, and hereby I would like thank to my friends for informing me about this matter. I'm Philip Yong, the owner of Philip DXing Log noted this misleading frequency information on Wikipedia seriously.

Above all the screenshots, those Wikipedia edits are badly misleading to the public enough. Let me to make clarifications by radio station. 

Raaga is a Malaysia Tamil radio station by Astro Radio. Due to license condition, currently it is available in West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia only, meanwhile East Coast is dominated by Gegar. Back to 2013, I suggested Astro Radio to expand coverage for Raaga in Kuantan only, but I was informed that Astro Radio would not make such suggestion due to license restrictions and market condition. 

About the misleading frequencies information on Raaga, Bernama Radio, goXUAN, CityPlus FM and Zayan's Wikipedia, most of the frequencies can cause heavy interference to existing radio stations. I believe such Wikipedia editor who did these all never performed frequencies studies and took into other considerations.

In terms of technical aspects, I strongly the particular user who edited these Wikipedia article never takes frequency planning study, interference study, border coordination study and marketing into considerations.

Raaga has no plan to expand coverage to east coast as the region is not its market.

Same condition as goXUAN. Other than current 6 frequencies (104.9/106.4/98.1/91.6/98.9/92.8) which carried formerly by Red FM, Zayan never plans to expand to other locations due to license conditions.

Its existing frequency FM 106.4MHz Ipoh and Taiping is misleading, FM 106.4MHz is for Ipoh only, excluding Taiping. In Taiping, it is very difficult to receive Ipoh FM radio stations due to big mountains of Gunung Bubu nearby Terong. To listen to Zayan in Taiping, its frequency is FM 98.1MHz from Gunung Jerai, not FM 106.4MHz Gunung Kledang!

* 103.1MHz Kuala Terengganu: Interference with Era FM 102.8MHz Bukit Besar.

* 100.9MHz Kota Bharu: Interference to Radio KIasik FM 101.1MHz Wakaf Che Yeh and Minnal FM Bukit Bakar FM 100.9MHz

==CityPlus FM==

The Malaysia first Chinese business radio station is only available in Seremban (106.0MHz) and Kuching (92.5MHz), but it is available in Central Pahang, part of Selangor/Kuala Lumpur/Melaka/Johor on FM 106.0MHz transmitted from Gunung Telapak Burok.

* 106.0MHz Kedah and Perlis: Interference to Ai FM 106.1MHz Bukit Larut, Traxx FM 105.9MHz Bukit Dedap (Sik, Kedah)/UUM Sintok and VR Radio FM 106.0MHz (Danok, Thailand)
* 106.0MHz Kuala Terengganu: Interference to Lite FM 105.9MHz Bukit Besar
* 106.0MHz Johor Bahru: Interference to IKIM FM 106.2MHz Gunung Pulai
* 103.0MHz Penang: Interference to Perlis FM 102.9MHz Padang Pauh and IKIM FM 102.7MHz Bukit Genting

==KOOL FM==

102.1MHz Seremban, 100.9MHz Melaka/North Johor, 94.9MHz Ipoh, and 105.7MHz Taiping. My information on previous blog article in 2015/16 was taken and copied on Wikipedia without my knowledge, those information on my blog article is not official and just a personal suggestion (in general way), somehow the frequency is expired.

* 102.1MHz Seremban: No longer suitable because interference with Pahang FM 102.2MHz Bukit Fraser (spotted since October 2018)
* 94.9MHz Ipoh: Not suitable because interference to Radio Klasik Gunung Jerai FM 94.9MHz coverage in Kedah 
* 87.5MHz Johor Bahru: Not suitable because of Batam FM 87.6MHz, but depends on which site that broadcaster uses.
* 104.0MHz Langkawi: None of radio stations from Media Prima enters to Langkawi market due to no commercial value condition. In addition, FM 104.0MHz will cause interference to Border Patrol Police radio station FM 104.0MHz in Songkhla province.

When I read these Wikipedia article, to avoid public from misunderstanding about it, I removed these misleading articles immediately. In addition, no such official announcements are made by radio stations. Wikipedia is not a platform to make fake news, fake articles, misleading information or mimic somebody. 

Next, come to Kool FM. Currently it has 6 frequencies in service, 101.3MHz Kuala Lumpur, 90.2MHz Penang, 93.6MHz Kuala Terengganu, 88.6MHz Kota Bharu, 107.3MHz Alor Setar, and 104.3MHz Kuching. No any further frequencies announcements are made by Kool FM. Yes, I found that someone was using my information to write on Kool FM Wikipedia frequency section with a remark "COMING SOON", but I removed them immediately because those information are false.

* 102.1MHz: Seremban
* 100.9MHz: Melaka/North Johor
* 94.9MHz: Ipoh and Central Perak
* 105.7MHz: Taiping and North Perak

For everyone's attention, the frequencies above such as 102.1MHz, 100.9MHz, 94.9MHz and 105.7MHz were used to be published on my blog in late 2015 till 2018 regarding my opinion and suggestion for Kool FM personally. 

The frequencies above were totally unofficial, they were just my personal proposal and opinion, I did not get any information from somebody within the broadcaster company. Those frequencies that were listed, based on basic frequency scanning in my location by using radio receiver, but other considerations were not fully included yet such as interference and transmission parameters. 

In this article, I include RF analysis to answer the user who publish fraud information on Zayan, goXUAN, Bernama Radio, CityPlus FM Wikipedia.

I work within broadcast industry (selling broadcast equipment). Frequency study and interference analysis are mandatory processes when propose frequency parameter in an area. It is not easy to do such thing, as it takes many considerations. For the frequencies assignment, the final decision is done by MCMC, not broadcasters.

As the blog articles on Philip DXing Log regarding unofficial frequency suggestions opinion, I will not tolerate to people who misuse my articles on official platform such as Wikipedia, I remove them from Wikipedia in order to public interest. 

I respect people's decision to publish their thoughts on social media platform such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blogger and Instagram, but not on Wikipedia. 

Wikipedia is not a platform to put misleading content, and mimic somebody.

If someone would like to use and share my article, I would definitely welcome them, but never use my article on Wikipedia without permission.

Q&A: FM 92.4MHz in Ipoh, Perak from Gunung Kledang. Suitable or non-compliance?

2.5 years ago, my blog Philip DXing Log received a comment from Syafiq on "Kool FM Perak frequency (PART 1 suggestion)".

First of all, thanks for everyone's feedback on my blog post. Can FM 92.4MHz be used in Gunung Kledang Ipoh?

This was an interesting question, but the answer is NO! I will share about the reasons.

The reason why isn't FM 92.4MHz suitable to be used for Ipoh radio transmission from Gunung Kledang is there are already having two radio stations which transmitted from Gunung Kledang and their frequencies allocations are nearby FM 92.4MHz, namely Ai FM 92.1MHz Gunung Kledang and Hitz FM 92.7MHz Gunung Kledang.

If a radio station assigns its Ipoh frequency on FM 92.4MHz, it will definitely interfered to Ai FM 92.1MHz and Hitz FM 92.7MHz, or FM 92.4MHz is badly interfered by Ai FM 92.1MHz and Hitz FM 92.7MHz. Just like a burger is centered by two breads, when you eat a hamburger, two breads will "press" the burger because it located between two breads. 

The maximum frequency deviation of a radio station is 75kHz +/-. For this study, even if install with band pass filter (4 or more poles), this does not guarantee FM 92.4MHz avoids interference each other.

92.1MHz: Ai FM Gunung Kledang

92.4MHz: Gunung Kledang

92.7MHz: Hitz FM Gunung Kledang

<300kHz, NOT GOOD>

Technically, the minimum frequency separation for radio station within same sites and coverage is 400kHz. It is impossible to have a band pass filter to be installed for these 3 stations in Gunung Kledang.

Another different case is One FM 87.6MHz and Fly FM 87.9MHz, both are from Gunung Kledang, and having 300kHz separation. For this case, it is still ok because "no sandwich" allocation within same sites. In addition, both of them are using high pass filter.

In addition, FM 92.4MHz is not suitable to be used in Gunung Kledang due to interference with Nasional FM 92.3MHz Bukit Ladang Teh, minimum separation must be at least 200kHz. 

If FM 92.4MHz is used in Perak's gap filler transmission site such as FELDA Terolak, or Ulu Slim (like Perak FM), it is ok because those gap filler areas are not Gunung Kledang coverage. Currently, FM 93.3MHz is the only available frequency in Gunung Kledang, Ipoh, Perak.

MCMC is performing FM frequency re-planning study, and all broadcasters frequency applications are suspended until frequency re-planning study is done. Therefore, frequency proposal is not suitable to be done at the moment.

RTM radio stations in Langkawi, Kedah

RTM has two FM radio stations in Langkawi, transmitted from Gunung Raya, they're Langkawi FM 104.8MHz and Kedah FM 105.7MHz, excluding Langkawi FM RTM Kuah 87.5MHz which is low power repeater for Kuah (target underwater).

For other RTM radio stations such as Radio Klasik, Nasional FM, Traxx FM, Ai FM and Minnal FM in Langkawi, they have no Gunung Raya repeater. These radio stations can be tuned only from Gunung Jerai, but available only in few locations within Langkawi Island such as Kuah.

Radio Klasik FM 94.9MHz, Nasional FM 100.5MHz, Traxx FM 98.7MHz, Ai FM 101.3MHz and Minnal FM 96.7MHz. 

In certain Langkawi locations, these radio stations could be clashed by Thailand radio stations, especially Radio Klasik FM 94.9MHz which is interfered by Radio Thailand Yala FM 95.0MHz, but alternatively Radio Klasik can be tuned via FM 88.7MHz from Bukit Palong (Baling, Kedah) which is much further than Gunung Jerai.

When RTM national radio stations cannot be received in Langkawi, they can be received via MYTV on digital terrestrial television platform, but for radio, only two stations Radio Klasik and Nasional FM maybe tuned alternatively from Bukit Palong on 88.7MHz and 89.7MHz respectively.

It is impossible to tune to RTM Ai FM 92.5MHz, Traxx FM 91.7MHz and Minnal FM 93.3MHz there because the frequencies are overlapped by Hitz FM 92.4MHz Gunung Raya, Thailand Police Radio Station from Tha Phae FM 91.75MHz and MCOT Satun FM 93.25MHz.

As Nasional FM is the RTM flagship radio station, Langkawi FM 104.8MHz can relay Nasional FM during its non-broadcasting hours, rather than duplicate relay from Kedah FM as Kedah FM has 105.7MHz.

If Radio Klasik FM 94.9MHz and Nasional FM 100.5MHz from Gunung Jerai are not receivable in Langkawi, you may try these below:

1. Radio Klasik FM 88.7MHz
2. Nasional FM 89.7MHz

At the moment, it is impossible to launch RTM five national radio stations by having repeater in Gunung Raya because unavailable spectrum and the listeners. Langkawi has more Malay residents, compare with Chinese and Indians. In addition, Langkawi frequency planning need to do more Thailand frequency studies as it is located nearby Thailand border.

Life FM 93.75MHz and 94PFM We Love Satun FM 94.0MHz from Satun, Thailand received at Gunung Jerai top peak

At Gunung Jerai top peak, I received many radio stations from different locations. For Thailand, I usually received from Songkhla Hat Yai (Khao Kho Hong), Yala (Khao Pokyo) and Satun (Khuan Khan), the furthest Thailand radio station that I received there was from Phatthalung (MCOT FM 95.75MHz).

RTM Penang state station Mutiara FM does have a repeater in Gunung Jerai on FM 93.9MHz to target Batu Feringghi, Tanjung Bungah, Tanjung Tokong and Teluk Bahang where FM 95.7MHz Bukit Penara is not receivable in these areas. FM 93.9MHz was operating at low power transmitter and it doesn't cover Kedah and Perlis.

Actually the receiving condition of Mutiara FM 93.9MHz was not clear at Gunung Jerai top peak, I strongly believe RTM Mutiara FM 93.9MHz is using directional panel antenna. Next, I received both Thailand radio stations where are closed to Mutiara FM 93.9MHz, there were Life FM 93.75MHz from La-Ngu, Satun and 94PFM We Love Satun from Amphoe Mueang Satun.

The receiving condition of two radio stations are a bit weak at Gunung Jerai top peak, but I didn't really detect the interference noise from Mutiara FM 93.9MHz, but Mutiara FM 93.9MHz had a bit interference noise from 94PFM We Love Satun.

The distance from Gunung Jerai top peak to La-Ngu Thailand is 140km, meanwhile from Gunung Jerai top peak to 94PFM transmission site in Amphoe Mueang Satun is 101km. About these two Thailand radio stations from Satun province, the frequency separation is 250kHz, but distance of both transmission site is 39km. Both of them are operating at 500W transmitter power, and they're classified as community and commercial radio stations.

IKIM FM and Thailand Parliament radio station are having co-channel interference in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia

In northern region of Malaysia, Islamic radio station IKIM FM operates in Gunung Jerai on the frequency FM 89.0MHz to cover Penang, Kedah, Perlis and North Perak (Taiping).

Before June 2016, although IKIM FM 89.0MHz was transmitted from Gunung Jerai, but Penang could not receive it because it was from Lower Gunung Jerai (CELCOM tower). Therefore, Penang received FM 89.0MHz was Thailand Parliament Radio from Yala (Khao Pokyo). In order to cover Penang and North Perak from Gunung Jerai on FM 89.0MHz, IKIM FM transmits from TM Upper Jerai instead. Therefore, this allows Penang and North Perak to receive IKIM FM loudly and clearly, meanwhile Thailand Parliament Radio FM 89.0MHz Yala was no longer receivable in Penang and Kedah.

Malaysia and Thailand has joint technical committee to discuss about border coordination studies on telecommunication transmission. Both agreed that minimum frequency separation between Gunung Jerai and Yala for FM broadcast is 100kHz, but IKIM FM and Parliament Radio from Thailand was 0kHz.

When I was in Ipoh, the biggest surprise was I received two different radio stations on FM 89.0MHz, there were IKIM FM and Thailand Parliament channel.

About the broadcast coverage, IKIM FM 89.0MHz covers only Kedah, Perlis, Penang and North Perak at 2kW transmitter power, meanwhile Thailand Parliament Radio FM 89.0MHz covers Yala (except Betong), Narathiwat and Pattani to deliver parliament message to the community in that region.

Thailand Parliament Radio FM 89.0MHz covers most of Yala districts, but receiving condition in Betong is not good, technically Betong is not the parliament radio station coverage and market. Same as Radio Thailand Yala FM 92.0MHz, 94.25MHz and 95.0MHz, they don't cover Betong, instead launch Radio Thailand Betong FM 93.0MHz as district radio station to cater Betong listeners there.

As there is co-channel interference detected between IKIM FM and Thailand Parliament radio stations on FM 89.0MHz in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia where I recorded at Perak Cave Temple, but the location that I detected is not their broadcast area, just find something interesting about the interference.

When comes to Betong, Thailand, actually IKIM FM 89.0MHz cannot be received there, but Thailand Parliament channel FM 89.0MHz from Yala (Khao Pokyo) is still receivable in Betong without co-channel interference. I believe that there is no co-channel interference between IKIM FM and Thailand Parliament channel in Betong, Thailand. Therefore, no frequency migration is needed to be done between both.

RTM Perlis FM receiving condition in Langkawi Island

RTM Perlis FM is the RTM's northernmost state radio station to serve Perlis state, it broadcasts on FM 102.9MHz from RTM Padang Pauh transmitting site at 2kW transmitter power. From Padang Pauh transmitting site, Perlis FM covers whole state, also part of North Kedah. 

Alor Setar can still receive Perlis FM 102.9MHz, but unclear receiving quality.

For Langkawi Island, although it is not far from Perlis, but Perlis FM 102.9MHz is not receivable there because the transmission site Padang Pauh is low height area. In terms of geographical condition, most of Perlis areas are flat land, except Wang Kelian where has terrains. For transmission coverage, Langkawi cannot receive Perlis FM 102.9MHz because the island is full of mountains. This never gives any listeners impact because Langkawi is not broadcast area of Perlis FM, but listeners can continue listen to the station through online and RTM Mobile app.

In Langkawi, when you tune to FM 102.9MHz, it is very hard to get Perlis FM, but the signal of FM 102.9MHz is usually adjacent channel noise from Thailand radio station, named Thor Por Sii FM 103.0MHz from Trang province (4th Army Radio).

Interference each other is found in Langkawi, but Thor Por Sii FM 103.0MHz interference to Perlis FM 102.9MHz is more than the interference of Perlis FM 102.9MHz to Thor Por Sii FM 103.0MHz because Thor Por Sii FM 103.0MHz Trang operates high transmission power 3.5kW, its station is receivable in Thung Wa (North Satun province, next to Palian district of Trang province).

I was used to receive both stations in Langkawi. At the hotel, I could received both, but Thor Por Sii FM 103.0MHz is a bit stronger than Perlis FM 102.9MHz. 

Thor Por Sii FM 103.0MHz can be received in Kuah, Langkawi with weaker signal condition, I received at Dataran Lang. Perlis FM has no signal there. At top peak of Gunung Raya, I could capture both stations, but Perlis FM 102.9MHz has more interference noise from Thor Por Sii FM 103.0MHz Trang province, Thailand.

Perlis FM 102.9MHz is also not receivable in Langkawi's neighbour island, named Ko Lipe. Thailand's Ko Lipe Island gets interference noise from Thor Por Sii FM 103.0MHz Trang too when tune the radio dial on FM 102.9MHz.

Thailand FM radio stations received in Taiping, Perak, Malaysia?

After sharing about my listening and receiving experience of Thailand radio stations in Sitiawan, Teluk Intan and Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, actually Taiping, Perak can receive few Thailand radio stations, 2 are from Satun and 1 is from Betong.

Here are Thailand radio stations that received in Taiping, Perak, Malaysia:

1. Radio Thailand Satun FM 99.5MHz (212km)
2. MCOT Satun FM 93.25MHz (212km)
3. Radio Thailand Betong FM 93.0MHz (105km)




The biggest surprise is Taiping could receive Thailand FM radio stations from Satun province, that's very strange. Radio Thailand Satun FM 99.5MHz and MCOT Satun FM 93.25MHz were spotted in Taiping.

 

Based on the video, FM 93.25MHz and FM 99.5MHz have no interference from other radio stations in Taiping, Perak, Malaysia. I strongly believe that it is just a tropospheric propagation when received Thailand FM radio stations from Satun because two of them are not available for all the time.

Radio Thailand Satun FM 95.5MHz is not available in Taiping, although during tropospheric propagation because 95.5 was overlapped by Perak FM 95.6MHz from Gunung Kledang. Actually Perak FM 95.6MHz Gunung Kledang is still receivable in Taiping, but its reception is just weak.

During the tropospheric propagation, aside from Taiping, Radio Thailand Satun FM 99.5MHz and MCOT Satun FM 93.25MHz somehow were receivable in Teluk Intan and Sitiawan.
