Red FM frequencies in Negeri Sembilan

Originally, Red FM broadcasted in Gunung Telapak Burok on FM 106.0MHz for Negeri Sembilan. In June 2009, because of Gunung Telapak Burok tower power supply was limited, Red FM was forced to close down its Negeri Sembilan frequency FM 106.0MHz. In addition, Negeri Sembilan is not really important location to Red FM, perhaps listeners in Negeri Sembilan can tune to alternative frequency although without 106.0MHz.

For Seremban, Red FM can be listened via FM 104.9MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali, meanwhile rest of areas are FM 98.9MHz from Gunung Ledang.

DXing: FM 103.3MHz in Negeri Sembilan

In Negeri Sembilan, FM 103.3MHz has two different radio stations. There are Era FM from Gunung Ulu Kali and Minnal FM from Gunung Ledang.

FM 103.3MHz is Minnal FM in most of Negeri Sembilan areas, rather than Era FM.

Minnal FM Gunung Ledang 103.3MHz is mainly for Melaka, North Johor and Tampin Negeri Sembilan, but 103.3MHz Gunung Ledang also can be received in most of Negeri Sembilan areas like Rembau, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and parts of Jelebu.

Era FM Gunung Ulu Kali 103.3MHz is mainly for Klang Valley, South Perak and West Pahang. It only still can be received in Nilai, Mantin and Lenggeng only.

Co-channel interference occurs in Seremban, Port Dickson and Kuala Klawang.

Era FM in Negeri Sembilan: 103.6MHz
Minnal FM in Negeri Sembilan: 90.5MHz
Transmitting sites: Gunung Telapak Burok

RF analysis: FM 103.1MHz Lower Jerai vs. FM 103.1MHz Alor Setar Tower (BFM)

==Parameters==
Frequency: FM 103.1MHz
Power: 0.5kW
Transmitting location: Lower Jerai/Alor Setar

==Stations involved RF analysis==
1. Perlis FM 102.9MHz Padang Pauh
2. Ikim FM 102.9MHz Bukit Penara
3. Thailand Parliament Radio 103.25MHz Songkhla
4. Radio Klasik Bukit Larut 103.3MHz

==RF analysis 103.1MHz Lower Jerai==

1. VS Ikim FM Bukit Penara 102.9MHz
Separation: 200kHz
Critical level: LOW
Antenna direction of 103.1MHz: North

2. VS Perlis FM Padang Pauh

Separation: 200kHz
Critical level: Medium

3. VS Thailand Parliament Radio Songkhla 103.25MHz
Antenna direction: South
Spacing: 150kHz
Critical level: Low
Antenna direction: North
Spacing: 150kHz
Critical level: High

==RF Analysis 103.1MHz Alor Setar Tower==

1. VS 102.9MHz Bukit Penara & Padang Pauh

Both separation are 200kHz, no critical issue is detected.

2. VS. Songkhla 103.25MHz

Frequency separation is 150kHz, low critical level.

In conclusion, 103.1MHz located in Alor Setar Tower is safer than Lower Jerai because Lower Jerai can interfere 102.9MHz and 103.25MHz.

Media Prima 4th radio station (CLSB) will be launched on 3rd March 2016

Since October 2015, Copyright Laureate Sdn Bhd (CLSB) owned radio stations, Ultra and Pi Mai FM were acquired by Media Prima. Recently, the radio station is on trial transmission and counting down for launching new stations.

Last week, some of Hot FM DJs (including Fara Fauzana aka Fafau) moved to CLSB stations.

Previously everybody is speculating what will CLSB station become.

My own speculation is Media Prima will launch CLSB radio as Malay language station, which targets serious and mature attitude listeners. Media Prima stated that they will launch this station on 3rd March 2016.

I had tried to tune to this station, my area is FM 101.3MHz..

About the frequencies, they just only mentioned 101.3MHz Klang Valley and 90.2MHz Penang. I'm  really not sure about when they are launched, will they mentioned more frequencies.

They could launch these transmitters site:

- Alor Setar Tower (Alor Setar)
- Gunung Telapak Burok/Bukit Gan (Negeri Sembilan)
- Gunung Ledang (Melaka/Johor)
- Bukit Pelindung (Kuantan)
- Peringat (Kota Bharu)
- Bukit Besar (Kuala Terengganu)
- Bukit Larut (Taiping)
- Bukit Karatong (Kota Kinabalu)
- Bukit Djin (Kuching)
- Gunung Kledang (Ipoh)

But it is very difficult to make frequency for Johor Bahru as no available frequencies. It seems Media Prima may be unable to reach Johor Bahru for its 4th radio stations.

I had suggested FM 90.9MHz, FM 88.6MHz and FM 107.8MHz. All of them were failed due to interference with Singapore and Batam stations.

Basically FM 107.9MHz can be used in Gunung Pulai. Because of FM 107.9MHz frequency is near to Singapore/Johor Bahru airport airband, it cannot be used. Otherwise, it will cause flight accident as 107.9Mhz interfered to airband.

88.6MHz basically can be fitted, but heavily interfered by Singapore stations (88.3 and 88.9) as 300kHz spacing.
