Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) launches PRO-3 radio station on shortwave frequency SW 7300kHz?

In Indonesia, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) currently operates only two shortwave radio stations, namely Voice of Indonesia - VOI (SW 3325kHz/4755kHz) and RRI Nabire PRO-1 (SW 7290kHz).

Recently there are several Indonesia radio listeners detecting a signal on SW 7300kHz which broadcasts RRI PRO-3 program in Indonesian language, I have spotted several posts regarding RRI PRO-3 transmission on SW 7300kHz via Facebook.

There is no information about this frequency from Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) yet.

Transmitter site is unknown.

I have successfully captured Radio Republik Indonesia RRI PRO-3 signal on SW 7300kHz at my home in Balakong, Selangor, Malaysia today before going out to work.

Signal is weak in Malaysia when I tune RRI PRO-3 SW 7300kHz, video is recorded today on 21st July 2025 at 0720 hours (UTC+8). Currently I'm searching the information of this frequency's transmission.

Is SW 7300kHz an official broadcast of Radio Republik Indonesia RRI PRO-3? RRI should explain this to the public.

Singapore 88.3 Jia FM and Power 98FM will be closed down on 30th October 2025, both frequencies will become empty in Singapore, but can Malaysia or Indonesia radio stations use those frequencies in JB and Batam?

Singapore's So Drama! Entertainment radio stations 88.3 Jia FM and Power 98FM will be ended their broadcast via FM radio on 30th October 2025 in order to focus on digital platform.

Kakee app is a digital streaming platform in Singapore, launched by So Drama! Entertainment since June 2025.

Both radio stations have been on Singapore's airwaves for 31 years since 1994, they will go farewell in October 2025 by ending their broadcast, the frequencies FM 88.3MHz and FM 98.0MHz would be returned to Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).

Singapore radio stations will be reduced from 19 to 17 after Jia FM 88.3 and Power 98FM cease broadcast on 30th October 2025. In addition, Singapore radio industry leaves only Mediacorp and Singapore Press Holdings (SPH).

After 30th October 2025, both frequencies FM 88.3MHz and FM 98.0MHz will become empty in Singapore, Johor Bahru and Batam, but can Malaysia or Indonesia radio stations use these frequencies in Johor Bahru and Batam?

Actually it is NO! This is because the frequencies of upcoming defunct 88.3 Jia FM and Power 98FM are belonged to IMDA, together with FM 99.5MHz, unless IMDA Singapore let go these frequencies to Malaysia or Indonesia radio stations for radio broadcast in Johor Bahru and Batam via international coordination meeting between MCMC, IMDA and KOMINFO.

IMDA Singapore can offer the new radio players to operate these empty frequencies (88.3MHz, 98.0MHz and 99.5MHz) via tender in the future.

Goodbye to 88.3 Jia FM and Power 98FM, thanks for serving the listeners in Singapore, Batam and South Johor with the best entertainment and content during these 31 years (1994-2025).

Langkawi is the only location in Malaysia to receive Radio Tarma SW 4775kHz from Peru.

From 2024 to 2025, there was a Langkawi based Malaysia radio DXer, tuning a Peru shortwave radio station on SW 4775kHz in Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia.

It is Radio Tarma from Peru, it operates on SW 4775kHz in Tarma City, Tarma District, Peru at 1kW transmitter power with non-directional antenna only.

I try to tune this Peru radio station on SW 4775kHz at my home in Balakong, Selangor, Malaysia, but no signal is heard.

The signal of Radio Tarma SW 4775kHz from Peru is moderately weak in Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia, it is the furthest radio station tuned in Malaysia with the distance 19267km from Peru.

As today, Langkawi is the only Malaysia's location to receive Radio Tarma SW 4775kHz signal from Peru.

Congratulations to Sarawut DXer for successfully tuning Radio Tarma SW 4775kHz from Peru in Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia.

Pulau Indah is likely the best location in Klang District, Selangor to tune RTM Melaka FM 102.3MHz from Gunung Ledang.

In Selangor state, RTM Melaka FM 102.3MHz from Gunung Ledang is still available in Sepang, Sungai Pelek, Tanjung Sepat and part of Morib with moderate to weak signal.

As there is no terrain between Gunung Ledang and Selangor coastal areas, this Melaka based RTM state radio station can be also received in Pulau Indah where is located in Klang District, Selangor.

In Klang, Melaka FM 102.3MHz from Gunung Ledang is not available actually, the listeners may hear adjacent channel interference noise of RTM Pahang FM 102.2MHz from Bukit Fraser and Asyik FM 102.5MHz from Gunung Ulu Kali.

On SKVE highway, from Bandar Saujana Putra to Pulau Indah, I can tune RTM Melaka FM 102.3MHz with moderate signal, while Pahang FM 102.2MHz is interfered by Melaka FM 102.3MHz.

The radio signal of Melaka FM 102.3MHz in Pulau Indah is moderately clear, I record the video from SKVE Pulau Indah toll exit to Petron Pulau Indah.

Pulau Indah is the only best location to tune Melaka FM 102.3MHz in Klang District, Selangor.

No signal in Klang, Kapar and Meru.

Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz from Indonesia tuned in coastal areas of Selangor, Malaysia?

After a success of tuning Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz in Putrajaya and Serdang, Malaysia on 27th and 28th June 2025, I continue to DX this radio station signal in another locations of Malaysia.

I supposedly ended my radio DXing trip in Peninsular Malaysia on 29th June 2025 with Maran, Chenor, and Temerloh in Pahang, but as I just alerted the presence of Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz, I decided to extend my radio DXing tour in Peninsular Malaysia until July 2025.

On 14 July 2025, I make my final radio DXpedition series in Peninsular Malaysia by monitoring the radio signal of Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz from Rokan Hilir, Riau Province, Indonesia by 3 locations in Selangor, Malaysia where involves Morib, Tanjung Sepat, and Batu Laut.

No signal in Jenjarom and Banting town from this radio station on FM 101.1MHz.

After these trips, I departed back home, but I detected this Indonesia radio station again on SKVE Highway in Telok Panglima Garang and Bandar Saujana Putra.

1. Morib (99km)

2. Tanjung Sepat (101km)

3. Batu Laut (98km)

4. SKVE Telok Panglima Garang (115km)

5. SKVE Bandar Saujana Putra (125km)

In Morib and Tanjung Sepat (including Batu Laut), Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz is very hard to be received its signal because it is almost zero signal if I move my receiving position. To record the signal videos, I need to stay in position carefully in order to get a better signal.

Based on preliminary check, Radio Diva Nusantara cannot be received in Pulau Indah because I only get a weak signal of RTM Traxx FM from Gunung Brinchang (Cameron Highlands) on the frequency FM 101.1MHz. When I receive Traxx FM signal on 101.1MHz in Pulau Indah, I cancel the radio signal monitoring in Port Klang because Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz cannot be received in Port Klang, even Bagan Lalang in Sungai Pelek too.

In addition, Mu'izz Lifestyle also captured this Indonesia radio station weakly in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia few weeks ago.

During Awal Muharram holiday on 27th June 2025, I attempted to receive this radio station in Puchong, but failed. Until 18th July 2025, I received Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz signal from Indonesia successfully in Puchong near Bandar Puteri and Puchong Intan while driving back home through LDP highway (Bukit Puchong).

Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Entikong PRO-1 changed its frequency from FM 100.7MHz to FM 99.9MHz since 1st June 2025

Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Entikong PRO-1 was originally on the frequency FM 100.7MHz, but since 1st June 2025, it is on the new frequency FM 99.9MHz.

This radio station is still receivable in Serian and Tebedu, Sarawak.

In Kuching, same as former frequency FM 100.7MHz, Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Entikong PRO-1 on FM 99.9MHz would have interference noise from Lite FM 100.1MHz Bukit Djin transmitter as both are separated at 200kHz.

FM 99.9MHz is the new frequency of RRI Entikong PRO-1, effective 1st June 2025.

Sinar FM Johor Bahru frequency 87.8MHz from Gunung Pulai received in Telok Melano, Sarawak?

Telok Melano is the westernmost area in Sarawak, it takes 2 hour journey to travel from Kuching, the capital of Sawak.

About the radio coverage, Telok Melano is covered by Gunung Serapi transmitter, but listeners in this area can receive radio stations from Indonesia, meanwhile Bukit Djin transmitted Kuching radio stations cannot be received there clearly.

Surprisingly, Peninsular Malaysia based Johor radio station from Gunung Pulai can be detected its signal in Telok Melano, Sarawak.

A radio DXer from Sarawak has received Sinar FM radio signal from Gunung Pulai on FM 87.8MHz in Telok Melano, Sarawak today.

Sinar FM 87.8MHz from Gunung Pulai mainly targets South Johor, it can be tuned in Singapore and Batam.

According to the video, the signal of Sinar FM 87.8MHz is weak in Telok Melano, Sarawak.

Although Sinar FM is available in Kuching on 102.1MHz from Bukit Djin, but it cannot be received in Sematan and Telok Melano because it operates only at 0.25kW transmitter power.

In terms of tuning distance, Sinar FM 87.8MHz becomes the furthest radio station in Telok Melano, Sarawak with 692km.

Congratulations to @Sarawakian_12 for successfully tuning Sinar FM 87.8MHz (Gunung Pulai) in Telok Melano, Sarawak today

On 31st August 2025, I will come to Kuching for radio DXing, so I can check Johor radio stations signal in Telok Melano together.
