Do you know that Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Entikong PRO-1 FM 99.9MHz can be tuned in some areas of Sarawak, Malaysia?
RRI Entikong PRO-1 FM 99.9MHz is from West Kalimantan Province, but Entikong District where is located near Sarawak's Serian border.
This radio station can be tuned loudly and clearly in Serian, Sarawak on the same frequency. RRI Entikong PRO-1 FM 99.9MHz is the only Indonesia radio station available in Serian, Sarawak.
Its RDS PS text is DB64-FM which is a default PS text of Deva Broadcast DB64-FM audio processor, I saw the text yesterday when I was in Serian with a friend.
It is extremely weak and almost zero signal if I tune RRI Entikong PRO-1 FM 99.9MHz in Kuching and Bau.
In Kuching and Bau, Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Entikong PRO-1 FM 99.9MHz is the only DX radio station, but signal is very weak with strong interference from Lite FM 100.1MHz Bukit Djin transmitter.
Overall, although RRI Entikong PRO-1 FM 99.9MHz only serves Entikong District, West Kalimantan, Indonesia, but it is available loudly and clearly in Serian Division, Sarawak, Malaysia on same frequency.
RRI Entikong PRO-1 FM 99.9MHz is not DX radio station in Serian, Sarawak, Malaysia in terms of tuning distance from the transmitter site.
Formerly it was on FM 100.7MHz before June 2025.

Kabong is a small town located in northwest Betong Division, Sarawak, it is not far from Roban where is bordered with Sarikei Division.
In Kabong, same as Roban, the radio coverage of RTM radio stations are covered by Bukit Kayu Malam transmitter, but some distant radio stations from Kuching can be received weakly there as Kabong is a coastal area in northern part of Betong Division.
Based on YouTube videos by Sarawakians_12, there are 5 radio stations from Kuching tuned in Kabong, transmitted from Gunung Serapi and Bukit Djin.
1. Hot FM 94.3MHz Gunung Serapi (106km)
2. RTM Wai FM Iban 101.3MHz Gunung Serapi (106km)
3. Era FM Sarawak 96.1MHz Bukit Djin (90km)
4. Sinar FM 102.1MHz Bukit Djin (90km)
5. Kool 101 FM 104.3MHz Bukit Djin (90km)
Same as Saratok, Bukit Djin transmitted Kuching radio stations are extremely weak in Kabong, but Kool 101 FM 104.3MHz signal is not too weak. Sinar FM 102.1MHz is the weakest radio station in Kabong among all because it only operates at 0.25kW transmitter power. When I was in Saratok 3 months ago, I could hear co-channel inteference signal of Sinar FM (Bukit Djin) and Sibu FM (Bukit Singgalang) on the frequency FM 102.1MHz while I monitored the signal via car radio.
Gunung Serapi transmitted radio stations such as Hot FM 94.3MHz and Wai FM Iban 101.3MHz signal condition in Kabong are same like what I tuned in Roban and Saratok 3 months ago.
Although Kabong has very less Bidayuh people (<50), but RTM Wai FM Bidayuh can be received there via frequency 106.1MHz from Gunung Serapi.
Alongside Kuching radio stations, Bukit Temudok transmitted Sri Aman radio stations are still receivable in Kabong, but signal is quite weak.
Sarawakians_12 tuned Traxx FM 103.8MHz from Bukit Temudok in Kabong, Sarawak yesterday, the signal was not clear there, but Traxx FM can be tuned loudly and clearly in Kabong via Sarikei frequency FM 92.3MHz, transmitted from Bukit Kayu Malam.
Overall, the radio stations availability in Kabong is same with Roban and Saratok where these towns can receive radio signal from Kuching (Gunung Serapi), Sarikei (Bukit Kayu Malam) and Sri Aman (Bukit Temudok).
==Radio stations in Kabong, Saratok and Roban==
* RTM Radio Klasik FM 87.9MHz (Bukit Kayu Malam)
* RTM Nasional FM 90.3MHz (Bukit Kayu Malam)
* RTM Sarawak FM 91.5MHz (Bukit Kayu Malam)

* RTM Sri Aman FM 89.5MHz (Bukit Temudok - distant signal)
Total 15 available radio stations in Limbang, Sarawak, excluding weak signal distant radio stations.
Distant radio stations RTM Sabah FM 97.9MHz and RTM Sabah VFM 102.9MHz from Bukit Tampalagus is likely not receivable in Limbang due to terrains.
Commercial radio station Hitz FM 105.8MHz from Bukit Lambir (Miri) and 100.8MHz from Bukit Karatong (Kota Kinabalu) is likely zero signal in Limbang too.
Although RTM Wai FM shortwave frequency on SW 11665kHz from RTM Kajang mainly targets Borneo Island (Sarawak in East Malaysia) by beaming signal towards east direction at 93 degree angle, then the signal can be received in Brunei, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, part of Vietnam and some countries in Latin America, but Wai FM SW 11665kHz was tuned in South Africa by a radio DXer.
By watching the radio reception videos of Wai FM 11665kHz on YouTube, South Africa is the first and only country in Africa region to receive the signal.
Here are the videos of tuning RTM Wai FM on SW 11665kHz in South Africa by SWL.
The signal is moderately clear and no interference noise from other radio station is detected yet.
Congratulations to SWL for successfully tuning RTM Wai FM SW 11665kHz in South Africa.

Last week, Radio Republik Indonesia RRI PRO-3 changed its shortwave frequency to SW 7335kHz, however there were several listeners claiming that no signal was heard on this frequency.
Recently, RRI PRO-3 changed back its shortwave frequency to SW 7300kHz after receiving the feedback from the listeners.
From now, please tune back on SW 7300kHz to listen to RRI PRO-3.
5 years ago, someone from Indonesia tuned BFM 89.9 loudly and clearly in Rokan Hilir, Riau Province, Indonesia during the radio frequency bandscan.
Recently I spotted an another video of tuning BFM 89.9 in Indonesia which was published on YouTube by 4th October 2024, but BFM 89.9 was tuned by Limra DX in Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra, Indonesia.
BFM 89.9 from Gunung Ulu Kali, Malaysia was loud and clear in Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra, Indonesia, even its RDS PS text "BFM 89.9 BUSINESS, BFM 89.9 FINANCE, BFM 89.9 MUSIC" was appeared on the radio receiver.
The receiving distance between Gunung Ulu Kali and Pematangsiantar is 314km.
Overall, by calculating the receiving distance, Pematangsiantar became the furthest location to tune BFM 89.9.
Although BFM 89.9 mainly focuses in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, Malaysia, but internationally it can be tuned in part of Indonesia on the same frequency.
- Station name: BFM 89.9
- Frequency: FM 89.9MHz
- Power: 2kW
- Transmitter site: Gunung Ulu Kali, Pahang, Malaysia
- Receiving site: Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia
On 13th July 2025, my friend Rafiq went to Bukit Segenting in Senggarang, Johor, Malaysia. He caught 3 Indonesia radio stations signal from Riau Province there.
The FM frequencies that he tuned were 90.6MHz, 96.4MHz, 100.8MHz.
FM 90.6MHz- Radio Republik Indonesia RRI Bengkalis PRO-1 (147km)
FM 96.4MHz - Radio Bimantara (364km from Bukittinggi)
FM 100.8MHz- Hit FM (177km from Dumai)
Both RRI Bengkalis PRO-1 FM 90.6MHz and Hit FM 100.8MHz Dumai were moderately clear at the top peak in Bukit Segenting, Johor, Malaysia, meanwhile Radio Bimantara FM 96.4MHz from Bukittinggi was very weak there, but it was the furthest Indonesia radio station tuned in Bukit Segenting.
Congratulations to Rafiq for the radio signal catch in Bukit Segenting, Johor, Malaysia.
Over the last month, my friends and I managed to catch Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz from Indonesia in various areas of Malaysia.
At my side, I caught the radio signal of Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz in Selangor, Malaysia with 6-7 locations. This radio station is based in Bagansiapiapi, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia.
However, my friend, Mu'izz tuned Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz in Taboh Naning, Melaka last week.
The signal was also weak in Taboh Naning like what I tuned in Morib and Tanjung Sepat, Selangor, Malaysia.
Taboh Naning was the first location in Melaka, Malaysia to receive Radio Diva Nusantara FM 101.1MHz from Indonesia. In addition, Tabong Naning becomes the furthest location to receive this radio station in Malaysia with 155km distance.
==RADIO DIVA NUSANTARA tuned in MELAKA, MALAYSIA==
- Frequency: FM 101.1MHz
- Power: 1.6kW
- Transmitter site: Bagansiapiapi, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia
- Receiving site: Bandar Vendor, Taboh Naning, Melaka, Malaysia
On 21st July 2025, Radio Republik Indonesia RRI PRO-3 news station launched shortwave frequency on SW 7300kHz.
Last week, RRI PRO-3 changed its shortwave frequency to SW 7335kHz to avoid interference with China radio stations.
Dear shortwave radio listeners in Indonesia, please tune to SW 7335kHz and listen to RRI PRO-3 programs.
According to Radio Republik Indonesia, PRO-3 SW 7335kHz will be broadcasted from 1700 hours to 0600 hours (West Indonesia time/UTC+7) to cover remote areas.
Coverage areas: Kuching, Kota Samarahan, Lundu, Bau, Simunjan, Asajaya, Sematan, Telok Melano, Sebuyau, Siburan and part of Serian. Available in part of West Kalimantan, Indonesia.
RTM (Radio Televisyen Malaysia) has 3 radio stations in Daro, Sarawak, but transmitted from Kampung Semop where is located in Pulau Bruit.
In Daro, Sarawak, the people can only tune Radio Klasik FM 92.7MHz, Nasional FM 95.7MHz and Sarawak FM 99.0MHz from Kampung Semop which are very clear in that town, but Sibu FM and other RTM radio stations (Traxx FM, Ai FM and Red FM) have no local transmitters at Kampung Semop because Daro is Malay and Melanau majority town in Mukah Division, Sarawak.
How about the coverage of RTM Sibu FM in Daro and Matu from distant transmitters?
Let's compare with the simulated coverage map of RTM Sibu FM between 94.6MHz Bukit Kayu Malam, 87.6MHz Bukit Lima and 102.1MHz Bukit Singgalang transmitters to identify which one is the best tuning frequency in Daro and Matu, Sarawak.
==Sibu FM 94.6MHz Bukit Kayu Malam==
==Sibu FM 87.6MHz Bukit Lima==
==Sibu FM 102.1MHz Bukit Singgalang==
Based on the coverage map above, the signal of RTM Sibu FM 87.6MHz and FM 102.1MHz are weaker than FM 94.6MHz. By looking the green colour shaded region coverage map in Daro and Matu which its field strength is 54dBuV/m, Bukit Kayu Malam transmitter has moderately clear coverage in Pulau Bruit, Daro and Matu, Sarawak, meanwhile 87.6MHz Bukit Lima and 102.1MHz Bukit Singgalang have poor coverage in these areas with yellow colour shaded region which its field strength is below than 54dBuV/m (weak radio signal to zero signal).
Hence, RTM Sibu FM in Daro, Bruit Island and Matu are covered by Bukit Kayu Malam transmitter on the frequency FM 94.6MHz.
The signal of RTM Sibu FM 94.6MHz from Bukit Kayu Malam transmitter is likely clear in Daro and Pulau Bruit, but the signal is slightly weak if the listeners tune in Matu.
In Daro, Bruit Island and Matu, alongside RTM gap filler radio transmitter at Kampung Semob, the people can access other RTM radio stations and Cats FM with moderate signal via Bukit Kayu Malam by following below:
- Traxx FM 92.3MHz
- Ai FM 93.6MHz
- Red FM 89.2MHz
- Cats FM 96.7MHz
==Result of RTM Sibu FM radio reception in Daro and Matu, Sarawak (simulated version)==
1. Daro
* 94.6MHz Bukit Kayu Malam: OK (65km)
* 87.6MHz Bukit Lima: Weak/No signal (54km)
* 102.1MHz Bukit Singgalang: Weak/No signal (87km)
2. Matu
* 94.6MHz Bukit Kayu Malam: Weak (82km)
* 87.6MHz Bukit Lima: Weak/No signal (57km)
* 102.1MHz Bukit Singgalang: Moderately weak (77km)
RTM Sibu FM has 3 hours Malay language local broadcast everyday from 9am to 12pm, the people in Daro and Matu can listen to this radio program by tuning the frequency on FM 94.6MHz from Bukit Kayu Malam.
Disclaimer: This article is a simulated analysis with the aid of Nautel RF Tookit Longley Rice coverage map, but on site physical radio coverage check in Daro and Matu may be likely different from the simulated coverage check by using RF toolkit.
To visit Daro and Matu, Sarawak, we need to go via ferry for now because Batang Paloh bridge is not completed yet. I can only visit these two rural towns in Mukah Division to conduct radio signal check once Batang Paloh bridge is officially launched to the public.
Pusa is a small town in Betong Division, Sarawak, it is located between Saratok and Debak, but near to Batang Saribas and the coast.
Compare with other areas in Betong Division such as Roban, Saratok, Debak, Kabong, Spaoh and Betong, actually Pusa is the best location in Betong Division, Sarawak where the listeners can tune several Kuching radio stations clearly from Gunung Serapi and Bukit Djin via frequency transmission.
Today on 27th July 2025, the Sarawak radio DXer, named @Sarawakian_12 publishes the radio signal monitoring audio clips in Pusa, Sarawak on YouTube. He tunes 6 Kuching radio stations in Pusa, Sarawak.
1. Hot FM 94.3MHz (120km from Gunung Serapi)
Two
months ago, I also monitored Hot FM 94.3MHz radio signal in Simanggang
(Sri Aman), Engkilili, Debak, Saratok and Roban. At my side, Saratok is
the clearest town to tune Hot FM 94.3MHz, following by Roban and
Engkilili, meanwhile Hot FM 94.3MHz is interfered badly by RTM Sarawak
FM 94.4MHz in Simanggang and Debak.
Although
Pusa is not far from RTM Sarawak FM 94.4MHz Off Spaoh transmitter where
its distance is just 25km, but Hot FM 94.3MHz has no interference noise
from this radio station in Pusa, Sarawak. For RTM Sarawak FM, it can be
tuned in Pusa clearly on 100.3MHz from Bukit Temudok.
RTM Sarawak FM 94.4MHz is a low power transmitter in Off Spaoh to cover only Spaoh, Debak and Betong. Sarawak FM 100.3MHz Bukit Temudok transmitter is less clear in some locations within Debak, so FM 94.4MHz covers the blindspot coverage of FM 100.3MHz in Debak, Sarawak.
2. RTM Wai FM Iban FM 101.3MHz (120km from Gunung Serapi)
RTM
Wai FM Iban can be tuned in Pusa even clearer via Sri Aman FM 89.5MHz
from Bukit Temudok, except 9am to 12pm radio slot. Alongside RTM Klik,
Astro CH871, MYTV CH710 and shortwave SW 11665kHz, RTM Wai FM Iban
101.3MHz is the alternative frequency in Pusa when the listeners tune to
Wai 9-12 from 9am to 12pm while Sri Aman is airing 3 hours local Malay
language broadcast.
3. RTM Wai FM Bidayuh FM 106.1MHz (120km from Gunung Serapi)
Although
there are very less Bidayuh people residing in Pusa, but Pusa is a
bonus coverage of Wai FM Bidayuh on 106.1MHz from Gunung Serapi.
According to @Sarawakians_12, Wai FM Bidayuh has no signal on 101.7MHz
from Gunung Ampungan.
4. RTM Radio Klasik FM 92.9MHz (120km from Gunung Serapi)
RTM
Radio Klasik can be tuned clearly on FM 107.3MHz from Bukit Temudok in
Pusa, Sarawak. From Debak to Pusa, as Radio Klasik operates on FM
92.8MHz in Off Spaoh, so there is self-interference of Radio Klasik
between FM 92.8MHz (Off Spaoh) and FM 92.9MHz (Gunung Serapi).
5. Kupi-Kupi FM 92.5MHz (102km from Bukit Djin)
The signal in Pusa is clearer than Saratok, Engkilili, and Simanggang where I tuned 2 months ago.
6. Eight FM 98.3MHz (102km from Bukit Djin)
Eight FM 98.3MHz from Bukit Djin is the only full fledged Chinese commercial radio station available in Pusa, Sarawak, meanwhile MY FM 96.9MHz and Melody FM 103.7MHz are not available there.
The radio signal of RTM Wai FM Iban 101.3MHz, RTM Wai FM Bidayuh FM 106.1MHz and Hot FM 94.3MHz are very clear in Pusa, Sarawak, meanwhile Kupi-Kupi FM 92.5MHz and Eight FM 98.3MHz are moderately clear there too.
Overall, the listeners can tune more radio stations in Pusa than other areas in Betong Division, Sarawak. Here is a list of the radio stations in Pusa, Sarawak.
* RTM Radio Klasik FM 107.3MHz (Bukit Temudok)
* RTM Nasional FM 98.9MHz (Bukit Temudok)
* RTM Sarawak FM 100.3MHz (Bukit Temudok)
* RTM Traxx FM 103.8MHz (Bukit Temudok)
* RTM Ai FM 105.3MHz (Bukit Temudok)
* RTM Red FM 106.3MHz (Bukit Temudok)
* RTM Sri Aman FM 89.5MHz (Bukit Temudok)
* RTM Wai FM Iban 101.3MHz (Gunung Serapi)
* RTM Wai FM Bidayuh/Radio Kayan 106.1MHz (Gunung Serapi)
* Cats FM 88.7MHz (Bukit Temudok)
* Hot FM 94.3MHz (Gunung Serapi)
* Eight FM 98.3MHz (Bukit Djin)
* Kool 101 FM 104.3MHz (Bukit Djin)
* Kupi-Kupi FM 92.5MHz (Bukit Djin)
* Tea FM 102.7MHz (Bukit Antu)
* Bernama Radio FM 100.9MHz (Bukit Antu)
Astro radio stations are likely not receivable in Pusa, Sarawak due to low power transmission and directional antenna.
Thanks to @Sarawakians_12 for contributing FM radio signal monitoring works by recording some Bukit Djin and Gunung Serapi radio stations signal as the sample.
